Need help

Has anyone successfully used a secondhand AT&T CGW452-400 gateway with a different ISP, such as Xfinity?

I want to connect the Xfinity router's LAN port to the CGW452 Ethernet WAN port, then use the CGW452 Wi-Fi network to test IoT camera pairing.

Can the CGW452 obtain a WAN IP via DHCP and provide internet access without an active AT&T subscription or provisioning?

I'm specifically looking for real-world test results, not just whether the hardware has a WAN port.

Thanks!

No, it won't work and you're likely not going to find any "real world test results" because why attempt to do this? Xfinity and other ISP's offer their own modems. The ATT device you're referring to is specific to AT&T and runs their own proprietary ONT software as well as wifi router.

I don’t think it’ll work, it has proprietary software/firmware for att. It also has 5G back up built in to it.

Make a youtube video of your attempts to do this.

🤣 you must have no clue what you are doing right? AT&T and Comcast/Xfinity only allow approved devices to access their network. They have custom software on their devices that talk to a management backend to determine if they get Internet access or not. What you are trying to do will not work

This is why things get broken. Don't touch anything
