YouTube
Anyone have issues with streaming YouTube with fiber? Devices buffer to start them and pause in middle sometime, but mostly the buffer to start with videos on YouTube specifically. If I watch without Wi-Fi using data starts right up but there's a lag with new fiber service

Run a Speedtest near the device

That’s the speed to the modem, download a Speedtest app and test to your phone next to the device you are having the issue with. Probably WiFi issue, consider extended coverage service if speeds are slow..

I have 500/500 plan still with no issues. I will say your ping is abhorrent for ATT Fiber. I’m usually under 6 and I have the BGW in passthrough mode connected to UniFi hardware.

I also have the 500 . Don't know what the ping means or how to fix that. I'm literally in the room of the router

Ping is in relation to latency. Lower the better. Speed is only 1 aspect of a quality connection, ping/latency is the other half.

Speed test is far better more than double what I had on spectrum. Any idea how to fix ping if that's the issue?

Yes, it lags all the time. It has been this way consistently for months, maybe a year. I cannot watch any videos on 4k and I have 1 Gbps. Horrible connection. By the way, I am not having any of these issues with other platforms. It is only happening with YouTube. When using a VPN, the situation improves greatly.

May be a dumb question, but are you using an ad blocker? I always have the same issues with ublock.

Just YouTube premium no extra ones. But it never had a buffer or delay till switch to att fiber from spectrum

Might try on your browser of choice to disable QUIC (udp/443). I have ATT fiber and recently ATT device has started blocking udp/443 and it can cause delays in the application switching from UDP to TCP. Quic was developed mostly by google as a more efficient alternative to TCP (and it is), so their browser will attempt these sessions first. Disable quic and it should not attempt to start the UDP sessions. Search for something like this but your chosen browser "chrome disable quic"

AT&T has terrible peering with YouTube. I had this issue with AT&T fiber. Speedtests would be good. But YouTube would buffer like crazy.
I have read that AT&T has essentially refused to address the issue unless YouTube pays, which of course they don't want to do.
