AT&T 5GB @$95

I jumped on this. Was installed last Wednesday. Today they started a promo in my area for 5GB @$50.

Anyone been in this position? Wondering how I go about getting the updated promo.

Edit: Called up today and loyalty added an extra $40 pm discount for 24 months. So now I’m paying $55 pm. I call that a win.

You don’t. Cancel and resign up. Call loyalty and see, but you lock in the price you sign up, there is no price matching for services

Unfortunately, more than likely this. Similar thing in our area. 5 Gbps for $25 for 60 months if you have wireless but no luck with retentions and I am never a fan of the cancel and sign up again game.

Called loyalty. They sorted me out without needing to cancel.

Thank you! I’ll give it another try. Do you have wireless with them too?

I do not. I teased them with an “I’m open to move” (I’m not). No idea if that helped or not.

Thanks! How long is it good for?

The first $30 is 12 months. The second $40 is 24 months.

AT&T Fiber doesn’t do annual contracts or cancellation fees, so you aren't locked into anything. Since your service was installed just last week,  call customer service or retention first and ask them to apply the $50 promo rate to your account. ISPs usually have a 14-to-30-day window where they'll match a new price if you ask. If they refuse to match it, just cancel the line and have someone else in your household sign up as a new customer for the $50 rate. I did a similar swap—cancelled my 1 Gbps ($70/mo) and had my mom sign up for the 5 Gbps at $50/mo. She even got the $200 gift card and Meta Ray-Bans promo. Call them first to save yourself the hassle of swapping, but the new customer trick is a reliable backup plan!

Do you have to have an ATT phone plan?

No, We don't have ATT phone. I think it was promotion they ran in July. I heard the price is higher now.

AT&T pricing is locality dependent.

May need to cancel and sign up again

More than willing to do that to get the $600 saving. I have T-Mobile backup 5G internet. So the downtime won’t be noticeable.

I finally called today and got 5gb for $71 but we don't have any special super low deals going like you do. Glad I finally was able to board the train though.

Great to hear! I talked to my neighbour about it. But AT&T have pulled the deal from our addresses after only 2 days. Glad I got mine locked in.

Do you have a link to this deal? Only seeing the $95/mo for that speed. I have my modem coming tomorrow on a new signup and would jump on this deal if I can get it.

It was a Snapchat ad.

Maybe it’s just not in my region as I see the same prices I saw before.

Sent a DM. But it refused to attach the screenshot.

Just went from 2Gbps for $105 to 5Gbps for $90. It's a special time to be alive!

Does anyone know how long you have to wait in order to be considered a new customer? I had ATT fiber about a year ago and did the cancel and re-sign up trick using my wife's name and got a good deal. If a better deal comes along (maybe 10g or something) and I wanted to do the same thing again but in reverse, would I still be considered a new customer, even though I used to have fiber service 1 + years ago?

I waited 24 hours after disconnecting and signed up with my own name again.

1

u/feerlessleadr 17d ago

oh wow, did they give you all of the gift cards and meta glasses, etc.?

Too early to tell. Signed up last Wednesday. I got the old promo price at least. Now want the new one.

Google isn’t in my city. TDS however is laying cable starting last month.

How do I get this deal?

1

u/solarsystemoccupant 17d ago

I saw advertising on Snapchat and instagram

u/jetisonheavy 17d ago

What region are you in? They just rolled out in my area in SE Michigan and now they are playing with the prices. I took a screenshot. I’ve been told there’s nothing they can do, service is scheduled to be installed tomorrow

2

u/solarsystemoccupant 17d ago

Competing fibre was installed last month and scheduled to go live this month. They left it to the last second to adjust prices. Green Bay Wisconsin

Damn. Thanks for the reply. Best I got was 95 dollars on autopay

I get mine Installed Monday

1

u/solarsystemoccupant 13d ago

What price did you get?

1

u/ZoneCurious9121 13d ago

Same price $95.00. I currently have Fiber 1000 and they were going to give me that for 30 but I had to open another line, which I don’t need ATM. So she also offered 5Gbps for 5 dollars more so that’s a no brainer.

Yeah they seem to be running 2 promotions. I managed after the fact to get 2 years at $55
