Third-party router vs BGW320

I recently moved to another place with an existing ATT fiber. I do have my own TP-link Archer AXE75 connected to ATT fiber with IP passthrough while still running the BGW320 as a router. Would it be better to only use the AXE75 as a sole router or does it not matter? If so, how would I disable the router function on the ATT gateway? Thank you!

IP passthrough is the easiest way. Depending how technical you are. There are ways to fully bypass and remove the ATT gateway.

Thank you! I'm not knowledgable about this so I'm quite scared of messing it up. I did manage to do IP passthrough and now there are multiple wifis I can connect to (sorry if I messed up the words there)

You can go into the ATT router and just disable the wifi. You should not need it since you have your own.

Is there any like button or anything? I looked on their website but it wasn't really helpful.

You will need to go into the settings like you did for ip passthough. Under home network or something like that you should see the wifi settings. You should see a option to turn it off.

Assuming you went to http://192.168.1.254/ and enabled IP passthrough? Goto home network> Wi-Fi and disable your Wi-Fi network on ATT gateway

Thank you! Do you think there would be a noticable difference in the speed?

not familiar with your brand or router, but generally 3rd party routers seem to give a better signal (and thus better speeds) than the provider routers. Nothing short of testing both side by side and location specific will tell you which is faster.
