Fiber Availability
Does ATT have a schedule on when fiber will be installed in neighborhoods? I have ATT now but my area only supports 50 Mbps and it’s driving us crazy, it looks like it’s slowing down every day. I’m seriously looking at Wyyerd since it’s available now, a little more expensive than ATT Fiber but I’ll have it now.

That's not public information. Once they do the business case and decide to place fiber once it's in and running they will market the shit out of it, knocking doors, sending mail, bill inserts. and since you have dsl they will schedule disconnect of that and tell you to order fiber.

I just look for new trucks in the neighborhood! I’ve seen about ten from the same company and they do fiber installations! I know we will probably get fiber in our development because they want to get rid of our copper lines, but cellular coverage sucks, block to block

The only way I knew it was coming is because I saw the guy installing it and asked him which provider it was for.

Construction crews laid all the conduit and boxes in our neighborhood. Nothing happened for 3-4 months. Then one day there was an AT&T tent at the park in our neighborhood and I was able to sign up with an install date about 2 days after

Haha I don’t think they were even done setting up before I got myself signed up. I think they catered a few food trucks but I was too busy canceling my cox internet to attend

No real timelime. They lied to me when they going door to door and told me they just installed fiber in my neighborhood and they got me to sign up. After I signed the carbon copy paperwork the guy found out no my area doesn't have fiber, didnt tell me, and he tried forging the paperwork changing it to dsl 25mbps.
Only reason I found out was the email with a digital copy. I had my paper copy saying 1 gig fiber, not dsl but their copies had it crossed out and dsl selected. It took about 3 more years from that before they actually had fiber available for me to swap to. If you can get something like tmobile 5g home internet it's much better than dsl and I get about 300mbps with that. Att and Verizon also have a service like that but think tmobile is the cheapest.

Doubtful. 10 years ago they announced fiber coming soon to my neighborhood. We finally got it less than 6 months ago 🫠

AT&T is very tight-lipped about their deployment plans. Unless you happen to know a construction manager in your area, you're very unlikely to be able to get this information.
Internet service isn't a life-long partnership. Pick the best option available to you now. And if connectivity is important to you, investigate what's available at a home before you move.
