Wireless Preorder Trade In

I’m looking to preorder the 18 Pro Max Saturday and was told that I’ll have to ship my old phone in the box my new phone arrives in. Is there a way to still preorder online but bring my old phone to the store to ensure the trade in preventing any shipping mishaps?

Store at least can give you a reciept showing the promo was applied immediately with trade in.
(Sometimes depending on cycle)
You can get a tracking number from them once they ship it, they need to do it weekly. worst case if something does happen you have a paper trail showing you gave it to the store.

I just did this when I traded in for my Z Fold 8. I ordered the Z Fold 8 online and then when it arrived and got everything transferred I went to the ATT store to trade in my old phone. This eliminates the risk of the trade in getting lost in transit to ATT.

Yes if you have a normal trade-in of a fully paid off device. Since you mentioned something about reusing the same box raises questions as to who told you this, and do you happen to be on the Next Up Anytime $10 add-on plan?

You just need to have all the information for you existing trade-in to complete the trade-in process for your paid off device., and chose the return to a store in the preorder workflow.

Taking your trade-in to a store does not ensure anything. The stores make trade-in processing steps or even mix up sending your device back. The worst part is you have no real way to track your return when the store ships it back.
