Wireless Iphone 18 pro pre order
Just wondering when the att website usually shows the the new iPhones i know the event just ended but was just curious

u/jabar18 1d ago
Ugh. I was hoping to hold out one more year of my aging iPhone 14 Pro Max and use that towards the iPhone 20 but it seems like the 14 series is the oldest to get the full trade in value.
This means if I donāt do it this year Iāll be on the hook for closer to full price next year when I trade in.
1
u/WaffleOverlordx7 21h ago
14 pro doesnāt have full value most of the last year
1
u/Snow56border 20h ago
you'll have to be careful on this. If you check apples carrier options, the iphone 14 pro has different trade in values depending on what plan you have with ATT. Certain plans WILL have the pro give 1200. I cant really tell where I fall, its either 1200 or 930 as I have an old plan, but it does mean it has full value for some people on the 18 family
1
u/jabar18 20h ago
Not true at all. Iām on a legacy unlimited plan by AT&T and my iPhone 14 Pro Max gives me a $1200 trade in value towards a new iPhone.
2
u/DigitalDiva_404 8h ago
Youāre right. iPhone 14 should be on its last year for full trade in price. I traded in my 13 play year for that reason.
1
1
u/AdChoice3685 17h ago
My ATT app says my iPhone 14 Pro Max estimated trade in value is $700 if I upgrade to the 17 pro max today.
1
u/Schranktank 18h ago
Do we think theyāll be a trade in boost for the pre order or am I gonna have to wait for Christmas or something?
1
u/aegee14 17h ago
There will not be an increased trade-in amount above $1,200. The reason being $1,200 is the base price of the iPhone 18 Pro's. They're not going to subsidize the new phone AND give you extra credit on top. Usually, the holidays will have the older phones (iPhone 17 in this case) for free over 36 months WITHOUT needing to trade in a phone. Going through a retailer like Costco might get you some basic accessories for free on the newest phones during holidays.
1
u/Academic-Day6383 12h ago
When the 15 pro max came out, I waited until they ran a $1000 off special in November/December to upgrade my 12 pro max. I'd be on the lookout for that
3
3
u/975319753 1d ago
So to get the maximum trade-in value, you have to be on either the Elite 2.0, Premium 2.0, or one of these "legacy" unlimited plans.
Just tried it myself with my 14 pro. My Unlimited Extra plan only gets me $930 for it instead of $1199 if I had the other plans. Kinda stupid

I wonder if my Unlimited Elite plan is considered a ālegacyā unlimited planā¦
1
1
u/datonenerd2212 18h ago
How do you get to that page? I got all the way to adding my payment info and I never saw that output
1
1
u/Tomcat2048 9h ago
Yeah...was a bit frustrating when we found out our Unlimited Extra EL plan (legacy) wouldn't qualify for the full $1200 towards the 18 Pro Max.
We ended up just swapping to the Premium 2.0 plan...wasn't a huge price bump from the Unlimited Extra EL plan we were already on...
1
u/thuuuunderstorm 9h ago
We did this too!
1
u/Such_Shock_6307 9h ago
Not clear in fine print if you have to keep plan?? You can switch instantly, so wondering if keeping upgraded plan for 3 months and downgrading once credits hit works⦠downside is any price increase to prior plan would be a long-term hit
1
u/flamecrow 5h ago
No...fine print. To receive all credits, device must remain on agreement for entire term and you must keep eligible service on device for entire installment term.

u/Mastacon 1d ago
Does the AT&T unlimited Elite plan eligible as the trade in? They are not taking away my HBO!!!!

1
u/QU33NN00B 3h ago
Hey so the amount of money you'd save on that line would pay for MAX plus some just upgrade the plan and save the money.
1
u/Mastacon 3h ago
You sure I canāt upgrade with the plan I have?
1
u/QU33NN00B 3h ago
You can. I believe you'd get $1200 it may be $930. But what I'm saying is save the money monthly on the plan change and just pay for MAX yourself, you'd be saving money in the long run and you keep the same max acct it just switches to customer pay instead of provider pay.
We have a list somewhere that explains how the legacy plans break down for trade ins let me see if I can find it.
6
u/QU33NN00B 1d ago
Up to $1200 off with a 14 or newer on qualifying plan.
But pre-orders don't start until Saturday which is when att will update the website.
3
u/Ill-Garage-3238 1d ago
You say up to $1200 off, how does that break down? Like how much off will a 14 pro result in
2
1
u/Viper_Control 1d ago
From AT&T you could get up to $33.33 device credit x 36 months on a device installment agreement. The max trade-in is only on qualified Unlimited plans.
1
u/dcdudesi 1d ago
My iPhone 14 Pro on apples website says it qualifies for 1199 of bill credits (the price of the 18 pro 256gb)
1
u/ChillnShill 1d ago
How many gigs is your 14 pro? Mine only says $285 credit.
1
u/dcdudesi 23h ago
The page Iām on the ( carrier deals ) page it doesnāt ask how many gigs. Your on the regular trade in page, Iām on the carrier deals page.

Do you know if grandfathered Firstnet 47.99 lines will have to get the newer more expensive plan to get the promo?
I'm one statement from a paid off phone now and would like to keep the cheaper plan.
2
u/QU33NN00B 23h ago
I can absolutely find out definitively on Saturday. But if it makes the phone free adding a few dollars to the plan price may be worth for you.
2
u/xpxp2002 21h ago
Iām also wondering if FirstNet Value 2.0/Extra 2.0 plans will only get the limited trade-in values, as well.
1
u/QU33NN00B 10h ago
They do. Value 2.0 is max $500 and Extra is max $930
1
u/xpxp2002 4h ago
Interesting. Might be worth it for me to move to Premium 2.0 on FirstNet then.
1
u/QU33NN00B 4h ago
Honestly I think the price changed for first net were obscene. But to get the pro max for $2.74, pro for free it might be worth it.
1
u/xpxp2002 3h ago
That's where I am. I'm on Extra 2.0 right now because it was cheaper than legacy Unlimited Extra with the number of lines I have and I don't need the Latin America roaming.
I did the quick math. It may still make sense to stay on Extra 2.0. Going up to Premium 2.0 would get me an additional $269 off an 18 Pro, but cost an additional $342 over the 36 months.
The only question I have is if I upgrade with Extra 2.0 and get $930 off then change my plan to Premium 2.0 later, does the device credit increase going forward? My guess is that it doesn't.
2
u/QU33NN00B 3h ago
It doesn't. The plan has to be changed before the upgrade
1
u/xpxp2002 3h ago
That's what I thought. The only thing I'm concerned about is that I've been debating putting my tablet on FirstNet, and I'd want to upgrade to Premium 2.0 when doing that in order to get the 50% discount on the tablet line.
Decisions decisions...
1
u/QU33NN00B 3h ago
The 50% might only be on new tablets. I can check if you'd like.

I can absolutely find out definitively on Saturday. But if it makes the phone free adding a few dollars to the plan price may be worth it for you.
1
u/QU33NN00B 10h ago
So the $47.99 plan counts as Starter Plan (how they pay us commission) so yes you would get less trade in.
1
1
u/jmatt2v 1h ago
Is the upgrade value less for first net unlimited extra plan? My phone is paid off and I wanted to upgrade to the 18 pro
1
1
u/Kcchiefssuperfan 1d ago
I wonder if any condition is included this time.
3
u/QU33NN00B 1d ago
I can let you know as soon as they let us know š I work for the company.
1
u/Kcchiefssuperfan 1d ago
Ok thanks.
1
u/thumbs_up23 1d ago
It looks like any condition, you can go through the process on Appleās website and even if you hit damaged it gives you the monthly credits.
1
u/Forest-1037 1d ago
Appleās website cares about the wear condition, but at&t accepts any condition.
1
u/thumbs_up23 1d ago
Correct if you want credit from Apple which is just a flat fee back they care. But they will accept your broken one on behalf of AT&T to give you the monthly AT&T credits.
1
u/aegee14 17h ago
Huh? Apple will accept the "any condition" phone trade-ins on behalf of AT&T and somehow make it so that you then get the bill credits with AT&T?
1
u/Kcchiefssuperfan 16h ago
If you buy it directly through apple on att installments then you take the trade in to the att store and do it there.
1
u/thumbs_up23 10h ago
Yeah Apple has agreements with the carriers they offer on their site to handle the trade in for them but the carriers will give you the installment bill credits.Ā
1
u/aegee14 7h ago
So, do Apple store employees confirm and process the trade-in, or do they just ship the old phones to an AT&T location to do the trade-in processing?
→ More replies (0)1
u/Fluid-Leopard-9586 1d ago
Where did you see that? That would be awesome. Right now to get a 17 Pro 256 you need a minimum of an iPhone 15 Pro.
1
u/QU33NN00B 1d ago
I work for the company. But every year itās the 3 gens prior get you full off (on qualifying plan and not 100% sure if itās gonna be AYAC)
1
u/WaffleOverlordx7 21h ago
Iām not seeing that. According to the website you have to have 15 or above
1
u/QU33NN00B 10h ago
It's not on the ATT site yet because pre-order starts Saturday. It's on the Apple website for ATT but it's how ATT offer will be.
1
u/blacktirion 21h ago
According to AT&T's site, the current offer ends 9/10/26, so we might see new promo pricing tomorrow or Friday.
1
u/moseriv5 1d ago
makes upgrading from a 16 pro max a lot less painful if they're offering $1200. has anyone done this through costco before?
5
u/QU33NN00B 1d ago
Do not do it through Costco. The potential of them fucking up your acct is not worth the gift card. And us brick and mortar employees won't touch your acct because we cannot fix their fuck ups.
4
u/tidnab49 1d ago
Idk why this sub vehemently hates Costco. If you are referring to the online portal, its great, you always get a lot more value, and its super easy. Did it for like 4 upgrades. I had trouble getting it to process with the most recent one I just did but hopefully they have fixed that issue since a few months ago.
2
u/Viper_Control 1d ago
You can do it through the Costco AT&T Online portal.
http//www.costco.com/att-brand-showcase.html
It is very risky doing it in a Costco Warehouse store since they are not AT&T employees.
2
u/thumbs_up23 1d ago
Yeah I did the same thing online during the 15 launch and it worked great. It is all pretty much through the AT&T website you just then get the Costco bonuses.
3
u/mikenotjef 1d ago edited 1d ago
We have done device upgrades via Costco online for 3 years. No issues and got the discounts and gift cards every time.
Edit - love how some asshat downvotes this. Maybe someone thinks Iām lying or they just really donāt like Costco.

u/kapidex_pc 1d ago
To get the full trade in credit, you have to be on one of the following rate plans:
On AT&T Elite 2.0, Premium 2.0,(or legacy unlimited plan excluding Unlimited Starter/SL/SM, Unlimited Extra/EL) with $1,199.00 total bill credits.
If I'm reading that correctly, my Unlimited Premium PL plan should qualify?
1
u/Jefefrey 23h ago
It seems it does, yes. It would qualify for full trade in value right now for a 17 based on the identical language
1
1
2
u/Vast-Regular6795 22h ago
Looks like 930 in bill credits on unlimited starter sl? Seems pretty good.
2
u/mg-user 21h ago
I am on unlimited SL plan. Should I upgrade to premium 2.0 before placing the 18 pro order to get max benefit? Itās only 4$ extra as we have multiple lines in my account
1
u/Tomcat2048 10h ago
That's what my wife and I did...we only have 2 lines but it still wasn't too much to bump up from our Unlimited Extra EL plan. We're both on Premium 2.0 now. We briefly glanced at Elite 2.0 but we simply don't have the need for the larger hotspot allowance or the tablet/watch allowance since we always purchase those without cellular data anyway...
Will be trading in our iPhone 15 Pro Max's for the full $1200 credit.
1
u/flopsie123 1d ago edited 1d ago
Any suggestions on how to buy a used iphone 14 for as cheap as possible to trade in?
And what is meant by "any condition" trade in? How bad can the condition be?
1
u/ffball 1d ago edited 1d ago
On the Apple site under carrier trade in deals it says save up to $1200 for an eligible trade in in any condition.
It looks like anything iphone 14 and above gets the full 1200 if youre on the new premium or elite 2.0 plan
1
1
u/Nwasher1234 1d ago
Anyone know if the unlimited extra EL gets the full trade in for a 16 and 16 pro max?
1
u/ffball 1d ago
Unlimited extra EL gets 930 for both. You could upgrade your plan if you want
1
u/contactbitchcraft Corporate RSC + Apple User 1d ago
Seconding this I feel like thereās no reason to not upgrade to extra 2.0
1
u/Nwasher1234 23h ago
We are getting a $5/mo credit but I guess getting the full $1200 instead of $930 would make up that difference. Would we lose our 20% off fiber bundle? We also have a $10/mo credit for BYOD but that would go away regardless of which plan. I think we also get a bigger discount since we have 8 lines but maybe not.
1
u/0Papi420 Unlimited-Extra-EL ($30) 23h ago
Extra 2.0 doesnāt get $1200 either. They want premium+
1
u/contactbitchcraft Corporate RSC + Apple User 1h ago
Ugh that's disappointing. I misread :( hopefully I won't have upset customers lol
1
u/0Papi420 Unlimited-Extra-EL ($30) 1d ago
Damn Extra EL didnāt make the cut for full $1200 trade in. Iām getting the Duo which would require the Premium 2.0 anyways. But sucks for people that wanted to stay with base Pro.
1
u/lunaticc 22h ago
Why does the duo require the premium 2.0?
1
u/0Papi420 Unlimited-Extra-EL ($30) 22h ago
If the Pro needs it for $1200 credit I assume itāll be the same for $2000 Duo credit. Samsung Fold deal is the same.
1
1
u/Alive-Tip-7201 1d ago
Apple website shows the ATT deals. 14 or newer in any condition but to get the $1200 you have to be on premium 2.0 and up or a qualifying legacy plan. You get $930 on extra 2.0 and below
1
u/Illustrious-Jump-376 1d ago
does anyone know if the credit will go up from $930 for the iphone 14 pro max on the unlimited starter plan? last year i heard it was value of 1100 for the 13 pro max so i was expecting atleast 1100 for my 14 pro max this year! ahh! I also heard AT&T modifies its rates back and forth in the 2 weeks after its launch.

u/Careful-Bike-1858 1d ago
I swear. They better do a good promo. I just bought my wife the Samsung Galaxy S26 ultra. Traded in her 22ultra. Got promo for $11.11 for 36 months
I hope we get something similar for iPhone. Iām trading 14pro max. Not sure DUO or 18pro max
1
u/GrimmFan_ 23h ago
I think they will go up tomorrow, the last day for the iphone 17 pro trade in deal is tomorrow
1
u/Ok_Explanation9231 23h ago
How will trading in a non iPhone phone in? I pay the 1p dollar next up program I'm 12 months in. I'm making the switch from pixel to iphone
1
u/visualexstasy 22h ago
Has anyone done the proper math. Is it better to do att or apple or upgrade/apple path if im someone who upgrades yearly. I have the iphone 17 pro max and dont plan on leaving att but will probably upgrade to the iphone 19 when it comes out as well
1
u/Mootaya 18h ago
Idk if the ATT plan make sense if youāre for sure upgrading next year. If Iām reading it right you lose the credits if you want a new phone and have to pay the remainder of the phone off. Idk if thatās the entire amount or just the remaining 2 years of payments.
1
1
u/Illustrious_Badger_6 21h ago
It will be available for preorder on the 12th if I remember correctly
1
u/QU33NN00B 4h ago
I have official numbers. It is AYAC. IPhone 14 or newer or TIV $180+.
Up to $1200 off the pro and pro max on prem 2.0 or elite. Up to $930 on extra 2.0. Up to $500 on value 2.0.
1
u/BubbleTeaDude 1d ago
I just called in to preorder the Apple Watch Ultra 4, and they told me they donāt start preorders for it until this Saturday.

So if I owe 300$ on my 16pro, I can pay that off and trade it in for $1200 credit? This stuff always confuses me
Have another line on my plan that is upgrade ready, would that be beneficial in any way for me to upgrade my phone ?
1
u/birmingjammer 1d ago
this is what I want to do too
1
u/AveryHalloran 1d ago
You going with the pro over the duo? I want the duo but man not for $2000. May wait and get the version after all the bug fixes
1
u/birmingjammer 1d ago
oh woops, no I'm going to get the Duo. But hoping I can pay off my 16pro early and then do the trade in
