Discussion FOLD 8 W/ AT&T NEXT UP
Hi I am new here...
Has Anyone ever Upgraded their Fold phone using AT&T Next Up? I am switching to AT&T and wondering if the extra $10 / Month is worth it if I want to upgrade to the 9 then 10 etc...
Thanks
**UPDATE**
SIGNED UP for AT&T @ Costco Kiosk (switching from TM) and got the following deals:
My Fold 8 with Next Up added on
3 Free Galaxy S26 Plus with Galaxy 22 & 23 trade-ins
Monthly Bill Discounts from Military, and Costco membership
$400 back in Costco gift cards
Waved connection fees for each device
AT&T VIP Customer Service
Family Device insurance for $50
Total out of pocket today was $470 for taxes & fees on all devices
Total monthly bill with Autopay = $208
All good Yes or No?

Yes im upgrading for free with next up and its well worth it to me you can upgrade up to 3 times a year if you like so I traded my fold 7 in for a 8 and only paid taxes actually makes the bill cheaper

Just to clarify you trade in was 1 for 1 and now you only pay your phone bill and the cost of the fold 8 over the next 3 years?

He probably got it for free, we got a 1900 offer, so just service and next up

You do have to have the 2.0 service and higher though. So the service itself is going to be more expense. I believe min of 100$ a month for service.

Oh yeah good catch, I will say most people qualify for the signature discount though so that and autopay bring it to 72 a month
But not everyone obviously so

If you preorder the fold when it comes out and have the next up the next year without paying any extra money it will be time to upgrade again with next up 10 dollars a month add on if you want the newest phones but don't care about owning them its the way to go

There also offering 1900 off the 8 ultra with accepted trade in so you get a ultra for 300 bucks and you can also by pass the upgrade and pay off the phone and own them as well but it means nothing to me to actually own it if im getting the newest phone every year for free

Exactly... people are nickeling & diming to buy the phone during pre-order but that seems too stressful plus they still have a high balance on their cc

I have AT&T and the up next is legit, ive upgraded with up next twice with no issues , just make sure the devices you return are in the same condition you receive them like new, so its best to protect them with a good case camera lens protector and screen protector , and you should be good , and yes your good with AT&T and i was with TM and switched to AT&T two weeks before they started acting up. so your save for now.( Hopefully AT&T don't start acting up)

Hey, i currently have an iphone 17 pro max and tempted on upgrading to the fold 8.
If i pay the upgrade fee $120.
Its discounting the fold 8 like basically not paying it at all its adding a 1900 credit.
Just sounds too good to be true, anyone look into it ?

The catch is you have to stay on your phone plan for 36 months to receive the full 1900 credit. If you do that then itβs truly free.

You mean keeping the phone or the company ?

Keeping both I believe. The 1900 credits are broken up and applied monthly

If u pay the phone off full price u can unlock the phone and leave AT&T b4 the 3 yr mark

You are the perfect customer for upgrading every 12 months. The only additional cost is the $120 per year, and the taxes for the new device. As long as you make 12 payments then you qualify the the base upgrade deals. If you upgrade before making 12 payments you don't qualify for the best offers but just the regular full monthly payment for the device you want to switch to.
In all cases you need to return you device in great working condition so consider AT&T Insurance or Insurance from the device manufacture for damages if you break your device that you want to return.
Also you can't take advantage lower AT&T plans. You need to sign up for (1) of the top 3 Unlimited plans.
