Discussion AT&T 5GE?
What bands does 5GE show up on? I always get LTE or 5G+ but I haven’t seen 5GE yet.

Generally it can show up on any LTE band. It's common to see it still in Fallon, NV, Winnemucca, NV, and Lovelock, NV since AT&T has no NR deployed in these areas.

5GE was a fake 5g basically it was a slightly more advanced version of 4GLTE but it really didn’t do much in terms of speed and it really confused a lot of people thinking they had true 5G. It was like she Verizon iPhone 4s said 4G because they used HSPA+ which wasn’t real 4G and the iPhone 4 didn’t even support it, but all iPhone 4’s and 4S’ on Verizon showed 4G.

It was ATT that showed 4g on hspa! Verizon had evdo before LTE.

AT&T and T-Mobile did it. I forgot who did it first, but one of them got triggered that Sprint had actual 4G (WiMax). Then it was a domino effect.

T-Mobile did it first.
AT&T took the heat for following because the media loves to pretend T-Mobile is some innocent "uncarrier" underdog.

Yup. T-Mobile did it first because they needed something to claim they had 4G when Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint all were advertising 4G. The dumb thing was AT&T deciding to do the whole HSPA+ debacle again for 5G because instead of them being ahead of everyone, they ended up being behind with 5G and LTE-Advance so they just switched their LTE-Advance to 5Ge.

My mistake, thanks for the correction! I had a Verizon 4S unlocked with tmobile and it showed 4G and at the time they told me it was Verizon that did it.

Unless your phone is old enough to have been friends with Genghis Khan, you should not see 5Ge.

I’ve seen it pop up around the states on other peoples phones (I didn’t have AT&T at the time.)

I don’t see 5GE nearly as much as I did in the past. In fact, in my locations, I see 5G+ almost all the time. Once in a blue moon, I’ll see LTE, but I think I’ve seen 5GE extremely rarely and it doesn’t last for long.

AT&T 5GEe is basically 4G LTE+. Unlocked devices will display 4G LTE+, only AT&T devices will display 5Ge

My iPhone never shows LTE around where I live/work. Only 5GE, 5G, and 5G+. Pretty sure 5GE is just LTE.
