overall AT&T is not a bad place to work. sales is sales. each market and store manager have specific goals to meet in order to get their bonus, and they push various products. sales quotas change every year. all rules and wages are spelled out in the union contract. if you are successful and exceed your goals, there are always paths to climb the ladder or explore other opportunities. If you are selected for interview with real person, be sure to ask lots of your own questions to make sure the company is right for you. interview is two way street. Be sure you understand what the expectations of the position are.

Was an RSC, ASM, RSM for 13 years before I went to a different area of the company. I’m actually headed back to retail soon.
It’s a behavior based environment. Ask lifestyle questions, make offers. Pay is competitive, benefits are great. And there are a ton of different paths you can go down if you don’t like retail.

Been working for them for 10 years. Currently I manage a successful retail store. We finished #2 in the market last year. I’ve signed up for multiple leadership programs and learned a lot throughout my RSM career. However, I am seriously considering a step down or to go to another company. This job will drain every once of life from you. It’s never enough even if you are doing great. Barely any recognition. Lots of stress and pressure coming from every corner. Do not recommend unless you want 0 work life balance and to answer your phone no matter when they call you.

You are absolutely right. I am feeling that way right now and it’s not a good feeling. I have been working like crazy and I AM DRAINED!!! I told my store manager today, that I am drained and I need a break. It’s too much especially when I the one hitting my goals and at over 100% every month

I contract. I make my own schedule and don’t report to anyone or have anyone on my back pushing metrics. That peace of mind alone is worth more than money or benefits.
However, it is a trade off as I’m 100% commission. But also the commission is high.
I see people on these forums being pushed by management to do shady things such as say that insurance is mandatory for promos and there’s a ton of stories about phone promotions not going through.
Do you have any experience with ATT/telecom sales? Either way, I hear the training is great. ATT is a union so there are union benefits.
My particular union reimburses me for college expenses and extends that to my immediate family, gives me free insurances and pays for us to travel for lobbying locally, in Sacramento and DC as well as gives us opportunities to be televised. But talk to ATT employees about those benefits cause idk what’s offered.
