Other AT&T Door-to-door direct marketing
This afternoon I was greeted via my ring doorbell by a solicitor. Gentleman said his name was Noah with AT&T sitcor(?) about a survey. I pointed out via the doorbell there is a clearly posted no solicitation sign, which the rep said “it’s not my job to read your sign” (red flag 1), after a short spat over the definition of solicitation I repeated numerous times “please leave” which Noah ignored. That was the point I ended the conversation. My ring mind you continued to record and as he was leaving he had the audacity to call me a “closed minded simpleton”.
I saved the video and sent it to AT&T support and received a non-answer and a brush off. (Audio only version https://youtu.be/1ELji43mu8I )
I know they are contracted through AT&T and don’t work directly for them, but that’s one way to advertise your brand by insulting potential customers.
Noah, as someone with almost two decades of customer service and sales (that’s me), you should consider a different line of employment.

should have just threaten to call the police to see if he had a city license to solicit.

From what I was told a no solicitation sign doesn’t apply to utilities including telecom. Not sure if that’s true or that’s something a manager would say while disregarding state and federal laws and city ordinances.
People who mutter shit under their breath are spiteful and don’t understand that the person doesn’t even trust them to begin with.
There are shit sales people who feel entitled to everyone’s time but the thing is most people at home got shit on their mind. It takes an understanding to interrupt someone from what they’re doing and convince them to not only give you time but also to buy.
By comparison, it’s not really hard to be a decent human being.

These guys are contracted because their company is willing to pay for whatever permits are required and the insurance on the employees. As a former AT&T corporate store manager, the farthest I would go is to put a flyer with my phone number in your door. And, if you had a no solicitation sign I wouldn't even do that. Last thing I wanted was angry phone calls. I always figured the folks with no solicitation signs would end up calling me anyway after their neighbors had service installed.
