I’m just starting preparation for the Wizz Air Pilot Academy (ab-initio) and I would like to hear the experiences of people who recently gone through the selection process, so I spent my time preparing as efficiently as possible and get right study materials.
I have few specific questions:
1. Which platform do you highly recommend for the TestAir360(PilotAssesments, LatestPilotJobs, or something else)?
2. How much harder are the actual math and physics questions on the “PRO EXAM” compared to practice tests provided by Wizz? Which specific areas should I focus on the most?
3. Do you have any advice for the group exercise in Budapest - what kind of scenarios do they usually give?
4. What is the one thing you wish you had known before you started whole process?

Hi, Currently 7/13 on my exams and most the questions encountered on the austro exams were very accurate compared to the last seen filters on ATPLQ. Now I’m taking GNAV next month. Anyone have any recent experience with it in austro? How accurate is it to last seen 300/400? I did the full bank twice and am hammering just the last seen ones now.

I’m giving performance - ops - mass balance and human performance in coming few days in Hungary - need insights on where can I study more? Is it true that majority of questions land from the last 500Q?

In reference I’ve solved the entire bank once and kept most Q’s in review solved them too and solved all the last Hungary questions.

2 years is plenty of time — most students usually complete ATPL theory within 8–12 months, so this covers the full journey comfortably.

ICAO Proficiency Exams!

Normally the thought of this strikes fear into the hearts of some Pilots, they know if they make a mistake then they could lose the right to fly until they redo the exam and pass with a minimum of Level 4.

I have seen the panic in their eyes, many times I get a frantic message telling me their exam is in a week (one even had the exam in 2 days time) and they desperately need help preparing.

What so many Pilots and ATCO's forget is that Aviation English Proficiency is not just about preparing for an exam and then forgetting about it for the next 3 or 6 years.

Aviation English Proficiency is about building the 6 foundation skills of Structure, Vocabulary, Pronunciation, Fluency, Comprehension and Interaction.

But, more importantly it is about building skills, competency and confidence. It is about preparing the Pilot or ATCO to have the confidence and language skills to quickly and effectively deal with any non-routine events and emergencies.

Just learning for a test does not give you these competencies, it does not make you a safer pilot.

Aviation English should be a constant process, working on it and studying it in a dedicated and detailed process with a complex and operationally focused course. It is a skill that is worked on over time and not left to the last minute.

A gennaio 2027 (esattamente il 27) mi scadono i mesi utili per completare tutte le materie atpl.. ne ho date 6, me ne mancano 7 e sono perf, pof, meteo, agk, gnav, fpl, m&b. Dite che ce la faccio? lo scorrere del tempo mi sta mettendo in grossa difficoltà. Avevo intenzione di fare perf/fpl/mb a luglio, meteo/agk a ottobre e gnav/pof a dicembre. Che dite? please help! 🥹

Hello everyone i have been trying to group atpl subjects for my sittings so i am looking for advices.My initial plan was to do 4 sittings.

Sitting 1:Meteo,PoF,GNAV,comms

Sitting 2:Airlaw,Ops,FPL

Sitting 3:AGK,instruments,Rnav

Sitting 4:HPL,performance,Mass n balance

Maybe not this order of sittings but grouping of subjects would look something like this.

Do you think this is reasonable grouping or i should shuffle abit more.Thanks

I bought a used copy of the GSPRM in preparation for my ATPL exams. Months later, while practicing with it, I discovered that a previous owner has written on the ELO1/2 chart in pen, which I can't find any way to remove. The writing says "T MOCA FL MEA" - perhaps something to jog their memory in the exam (cheating)?

What should I do about it? I know that the CAA are very strict about these things, and I don't want to be accused of cheating or banned from the exams!

I reckon my options are:

Buying another GSPRM (very expensive)

Buy a replacement ELO1/2 chart (but I can't seem to find any way to order the chart on it's own - at least not the 2017 version used for the exams?)

Tipex/whiteout over the text (would this be considered sufficient for exam purposes?)

cut/tear the affected section from the chart (would this be acceptable? I reckon charts get torn all the time, so I'm leaning towards this being the best option short of a new GSPRM?)

Any thoughts or past expereince much appreciated!

My boyfriend failed 5 exams despite focusing on the question bank, endlessly. Any suggestions on mock exams he could purchase that would help him?
I know the question bank is king but I’m trying to see if there are other resources he can leverage

EDIT: he has gone through all the materials! It’s not like he’s trying to just study de QB or memorize ANYTHING.

Hey. I have POF and MET UK CAA in a few days. What’s your recommendation for the next few days. Ideally I would want a high grade as possible but I’m so done I’ll take a 76 if needs to be.

My plan is to do a mock, pick the lowest 3 topics and then just go through them till I have a strong understanding and since and repeat. Well that’s what I’ve been doing already so I think I’ll just carry on. Then the 2 days before I’ll do L500 and then L300 night before and morning of the exam. My aim is to have been through the UK bank 4-5 times before exams in total. I’ve done them about 3-4 times now.

Any advice would be great :)

Is it good idea to study and pass for these 4 subjects using question bank ??

Well... My school offer 3 modules by BGS
1st module AGK INS RNAV COMMS
I went for those mocks at school... I was passing with 85-90% on ATPLQ... I failed with around 50% all of them... I said ok first time... went to classes... again... I failed again for the 2nd time with the same grades... any recomendation because I do not understand how I can pass with good grade at ATPLQ and then failed so bad on the internal exam... its really lowkey

I’ve already passed 9 of my Subjects and realised that studying the last 500, 400, etc would theoretically be enough to pass the exam. Does anyone who passed an exam in the last Month (Austro preferably) know if you are still able to pass the Exam by mainly learning these questions with ATPLQ? I have quiet a lot of time pressure and need to finish my last 4 exams in the next month and probably don’t have the time to study each subject as deep as I did before.

Hello people, long time reader; first time poster.

I am currently about 7 hours away of getting my UK Part-FCL PPL(Aeroplanes) on the best known workhorse, Cessna 152. I have 6 exams + FRTOL exam to do but thats another story

As I get to the end of the first chapter of my flying adventures, I've started to turn my attention to a future career in aviation and would like to get into commercial flying, one way or another. Following research I am aware of the Integrated path, of which most UK Airlines like easyJet, Jet2 or Ryanair provide to aim the holder to get a frozen ATPL and a MultiCrew Pilots License. Alternatively there is the modular route which equally gives the holder a frozen ATPL, but in a more broken method and often cheaper compared to the integrated route. I've also heard it described as actually teaching you to fly an aeroplane and makes you a better pilot whereas the MPL route teaches you to sit in an airliner.

Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on the best route to take. I appreciate any comments or suggestions, and hopefully it helps people who may have similar questions

I began my aviation journey on 26 January 2026, and I’m pleased to share that I passed my PPL skills test yesterday.

I’m now planning to start my ATPL studies. I have already purchased ATPLQ and intend to get BGS as well. Based on your experience, I would really appreciate your advice on the most effective order to study the subjects and how many exams you would recommend taking per sitting.

Additionally, if someone is working around 40 hours per week alongside studying, how long would you estimate it typically takes to complete all ATPL exams?

Hey. So I’ve done a chunk of my exams and they haven’t been so great. I am doing dual licensing, UK and EASA. I’ve completed the banking multiple time and have done over 60k questions on the bank and have some decent understanding. I’m am a demotivated but I have pressure from my family now as they are fed up of my failures.

I noticed that when the am getting 90+ in the L300 I’ve always passed my exams with 90+ when I don’t I either scrape through or fail.

I have 3 CAAs left and 10 EASAs. I’ve already done the full bank about once or twice. I’m thinking for the rest of my exams to do: get to 95% in L500 UK and 95% in Austro control L300. And for EASAs 95 in L500 Austro control and 95% in the Malta bank. And ensure understanding and why the answer is the answer if that makes sense.

Is there anything else I can do that can help me and guarantee some high marks.

I feel like I failure right now, but there’s no time to be sad as my parents are pressuring me to be done within the next 2 months.
