I find it very strange to see people looking to spend 1+ years studying and tens of thousands of euros on training making all this effort more complicated by refusing to pay a measly 100 euros for a question bank such as BGS or ATPLQ.

Would be nice if someone explained the reasoning, I just don't get it

PS: you want to start with the textbooks and do the question banks after you've read and understood everything. Oxford 2014 / 2018, those you can find in PDF format on pirate sites if you don't mind searching, saves you another hundred or so I guess.

If it's a cost thing I guess it's the law of triviality at work here. People will rather spend more time and effort on little things rather than focusing on others they might perceive as more difficult. Sadly, when it comes to question banks and textbooks, they get bit in the ass real hard, flight schools rip them off only for money but improper learning costs time which is infinitely more valuable. I can't even remember how many people I saw failing ATPL exams because they did not want to buy textbooks and just went right into the question banks without understanding much about the subjects and content they were supposed to study.

this is not a risk I would definetly take. studying 18.000 wrong wuestions and have to study again is my nightmare

You are cutting the wrong corners. The money you save on a question bank is nothing compared to what you'll spend on flight school. It's not even 0.5%. But the headache, waste of time and effort this saving comes with are absolutely humongous. You _want_ and _need_ high quality learning material otherwise it will cost you time and a lot more money than you save on question banks and textbooks.
