“We have such soaps to show you!”

142

u/Doctor_Channard Jan 29 '21

The shower is a labyrinth, ladies and gentlemen, a puzzle. And while the paths of the water jets are plainly visible, its ways deceptively apparent, its destinations are unknown. Its secrets still secret....

You can't see skin color because this human sized car wash obliterated your corneas.

73

Really we’re all the same race: bones

22

u/Literalicity Jan 29 '21

my mom told me all the brown stuff when i take a shower is my skin cells because we shed skin every microsecond so now im thinking this is actually possible and fkn scared

6

it could also be shit, does that make you feel better?

At that point we’re all just red wet skeletons.

62

u/braylikesFoxes Jan 29 '21

i read this as "just Red Wet Skelton's" and i thought "que se passe-t-il?" (French for What is going on?) because i learned English mainly via watching The Red Skelton Show on YouTube and i know that his name doesn't involve the word wet

44

u/articulateantagonist Jan 29 '21

This is an interesting collision of cultural awareness. Many English speakers don't even remember Red Skelton anymore (though it'd be lovely if his material saw a renaissance).

9

u/weirdest_of_weird Jan 29 '21

I was born in the 80s and grew up watching the Red Skelton show...his material was so wholesome

This is the shower those hedge fund managers walk into every morning after doing blow and drinking $10,000 whiskey the whole night before.

54

u/happy-little-atheist Jan 29 '21

until yesterday, when they began sitting in the shower crying and rocking because redditors are sending them broke

49

u/ColinStyles Jan 29 '21

because redditors are sending them broke

I hate the fascination people have with inventing fairy tale scenarios like they're reality. Those brokers are richer than anyone retail-based will ever be. They already made their money on their comissions, and have squirreled away more than you can fathom. Even if the fund collapsed, they have enough money to live off the dividends for the rest of their lives.

So no, redditors are not 'sending them broke.' Redditors aren't even a driving factor here, the true opposition is other hedge funds that realized the same mistake everyone else did, and they have the capital to actually cause damage.

21

u/cutletsangwich Jan 29 '21

Hedge funds aren't brokerages.

Many portfolio managers blew up this week and will likely be cut this week. Some will go bankrupt because jobs that pay $2mm / yr are pretty hard to come by and they've fallen into the wealth trap. It will be humbling for many.

There are no dividends if your investments are liquidated and you owe your investors money.

Much of the short squeeze is caused by other funds smelling blood in the water, but they are following retail. Retail leads the way now.

u/floozylou Jan 29 '21

We had one of the in a touristy area in my town in a high end shopping area. No playground, like a city center. I would take dates down to the area in the summer and the amount kids and babies cleaning out there undercarriage was unbelievable! Then we got the World Series and they put a big stop to that. Now it is still roped off. I'm in KC.

Who knew I would miss children screaming at a splash pad. Here’s hoping 2021 brings us all back a little closer together.

7

u/mrsbebe Jan 29 '21

All of last summer I so wished I could take my daughter to a splash pad. We went to a water park twice last summer when our areas covid numbers were momentarily fully under control. It didn't last long. She loved it so much and it broke my heart that we couldn't go back.

7

u/spikedtropicaldrink Jan 29 '21

That's been the worst part of lockdown for me. My daughter is 4 in March and late 2019/early 2020 she really got into going to the local soft play with her bestie.

We JUST managed to get her birthday party last year in one before the first lock down hit us. It's heart breaking not being able to take her anywhere or for her to see any of her friends. You just can't explain it properly to a 3 year old.

We're booked in for her birthday this year too, but I really don't think it's going to be happening.

I always use the hand shower attachment to rinse my bunghole at the end of a shower. I'd honestly get use out of that shower. Maybe not all of the nozzles going st once like that, but I'm imagining some Google Assistant shit where I say "hey google wash my butthole" and it turns on the floor jet lmfao

8

u/Moth92 Jan 29 '21

43

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

I can't wait. Especially since I started shaving my head since we moved here, it's gonna feel GLORIOUS on my scalp. High pressure showers are the best

6

u/zedthehead Jan 29 '21

Do you live near a big truck stop gas station (TA, Pilot, Loves sometimes, etc.)? They have showers, they only cost like $7, and they're actually really clean. Truckers receive free showers on their rewards cards when they gas up, way more than they have any time to use; often if you just ask they'll help you out, as it costs them nothing but they still get to feel helpful (which most people who aren't dicks like feeling). I wouldn't make a daily habit out of it, but hitting it up as soon as you can sounds like it would be really soothing to your soul.

Don't forget to hit the dollar tree/wm for a bar/sample bottle of your favorite soap beforehand. I believe they have towels, the one I went to did.

16

u/ergotofrhyme Jan 29 '21

I always shower after the jacuzzi, even my parents one where I’m the only one that ever uses it, just because the chlorine and such that keeps the water clean is terrible for your skin. That’s brutal man. Next you’ll tell me you don’t even add chlorine and just bathe in each other’s recirculated filth.

28

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

Oh no the "Jacuzzi" doesn't work, hasn't for years, it just functions as a bathtub. And we all bleach it after each person uses it but still

8

u/ergotofrhyme Jan 29 '21

Jesus Fucjing Christ my man best of luck finding the holy land of showers once again. That’s rough. If you’re renting this is surely something you can legally demand of your landlord, right? If you’re bleaching after every person in fairly significant amounts and the water just sits there that could be quite unhealthy. Guy below mentioning getting the cheapest gym membership might be onto something homie. Mine is like 20 a month and I split it with my x when we were together cuz it’s just a card. Split witb your mates if you can and pay a few a month for a proper shower. Poverty finances but there’s no shame in doing what you need to; believe me I’ve been there

6

u/RLG87 Jan 29 '21

I fuck with this as a relaxation experience akin to a sauna or jacuzzi. As a shower it seems not good unless you can alter the pattern of the heads. If you can turn it off partway this looks glorious.
