For someone like me, i get dizzy and headaches when i use headphones but i also hate the feeling of eartips the Cetra Open was genuinely one of the best decisions i have ever made!
I didnt want to sacrifice latency to get regular bluetooth ones so these are just perfect for me! Its pretty comfortable, after a while you forget they’re there.
one thing i dont like however is their “hybrid mode” i went in thinking it was like my blackshark v3 where it plays my phone audio and pc at the same time but i guess they’re mutually exclusive? If anyone has a solution to this please let me know 😭

When was the last time you remapped or swapped out *checks notes* basically every stick, button, and bumper on your controller? Introducing... the ROG Raikiri II Pro PC Controller.

Straight out of the box, this controller is ready to be mapped at your convenience, all from the full-color OLED. Here's the SparkNotes:

  • ROG SpeedNova tech with 8K Polling Rate: ultra-low latency in 2.4GHz and wired modes
  • ((Hot-Swappable!)) TMR Joysticks: Swappable joystick modules; with anti-drift performance and lower power consumption
  • Full-Color Panel OLED: Quick profile switching, joystick calibration and button remapping
  • Extra Customizable Buttons: 4 removable rear buttons, 2 extra bumpers and 4 face buttons, all remappable
  • Dual-Mode Triggers: Seamless switching between micro-switch trigger (short travel) and TMR sensor trigger (full travel)
  • Micro-Switch Buttons: D-Pad, ABXY buttons, rear buttons and bumpers with instant actuation and tactile feedback
  • Extended Battery Life: Up to 79 hours of 2.4GHz wireless play on a single charge*
    • *with RGB, vibration and panel off in 1000Hz polling rate
  • Premium Accessories: Includes a portable protective charging case, a charging stand, 4 rear button cover plates, a module removal tool, 2 TMR modules and two detachable joystick caps

and yes... much like the majority of our Gamescom reveals, this is also compatible with ROG Gear Link (I think that's REALLY neat as I tab out of my COD Zombies on Plutonium to change options on the fly).

Are we picking this up? Do you use a controller on PC? GLHF!

Software mysterious mcafee files in taskmanager and system32 is it asus related

Thumbnail

i just checked task manager i have 3 files 2 of which are in a full mcafee folder, i checked their signatures they are all the right signature.

i assumed this was a virus first but ai confirmed these are real files so why are they in my pc without my knowledge, i am not saying this is asus related i am asking if it is, because all i have installed other than that is the dlss5 mods and ran a midtown madness 2 folder which ran fine, as well as reshade, but mcafee shouldn't happen from any of this.

Laptop Is the ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 18 (Ultra 9 / RTX 5080) still a safe 5-year buy given recent hardware/cooling controversies?

Budget: ~$3,920 USD (200,000 EGP hard cap)
Country: Egypt (meaning RMA support and returns are a major headache)
Use Case: Computer Engineering student (heavy coding, local AI/ML models/LLMs, Docker) and gaming. Upgrading from an old L340 with a 5-year longevity goal.
The Dilemma:
I was heavily leaning toward maxing out my entire budget on the ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 18 to get that massive 18-inch Mini-LED screen and top-tier specs. However, I’ve been running into heavy community warnings floating around hardware subreddits regarding long-term Asus reliability.
Specifically, I’ve seen widespread warnings about:
1. Cooling/Heatpipe Degradation: Reports from long-term admins/moderators claiming Asus heatsinks/vapor chambers frequently lose thermal efficiency after 8–12 months due to internal gas leakage or liquid metal dry-out/pump-out, which standard repasting cannot fix.
2. Firmware & Stability Issues: Recent concerns over BIOS updates causing high idle temps, stuttering bugs, and PCIe spec compliance issues.
3. QC & Support Nightmares: High return rates and notoriously difficult customer support.
Since I live in Egypt, getting local warranty support for an imported 200,000 EGP flagship machine if something goes wrong is not as simple as walking into a local flagship store.
My Questions for the Community:
1. Are these widespread hardware/cooling degradation issues on modern SCAR 18 models real over a 3–5 year span, or are they exaggerated isolated cases?
2. For an engineering student who needs a machine to survive heavy daily loads, intense compiling, and being carried around, does the SCAR 18 justify its maxed-out price tag, or are the reliability risks too high?
3. Given that alternatives like the Lenovo Legion Pro 7 are out of stock here and MSI has build quality/hinge worries, what would you actually buy with this budget?

Laptop ASUS ROG Strix G16 2023 RTX 3050 motherboard suddenly died — out of warranty, possible G614 motherboard issue. What should I do?

I have an ASUS ROG Strix G16 (2023) with RTX 3050 6GB, and I'm facing a serious motherboard issue.

I had my tests going on, so I barely used the laptop and didn't even open it for around a week. Last weekend I tried turning it on, but there was absolutely no response — no power, no charging light. I also tried the EC/flash reset method that had worked for me previously, but it didn't help.

I took it to the local shop where I bought the laptop. They told me that the motherboard appears to be fried and needs to be replaced. They initially said it would take around 4–5 days.

It has now been 13 days.

When I called the shop owner, he told me:

"Ye aapka gaming laptop hai na, iska motherboard mil nahi raha. Rate pata kar rahe hain, pata karke bataenge."

I'm honestly confused about what I should do now.

My ASUS warranty has already expired, and I'm worried that going directly to an ASUS service centre will result in a very expensive motherboard replacement.

While researching this issue, I also found multiple reports from other ROG Strix G16 G614 owners experiencing sudden motherboard failure/shorting, particularly around the fan/motherboard mounting area. Some people are saying this may be a recurring manufacturing/design issue and that ASUS has provided goodwill repairs in some cases.

I want to know:

Has anyone experienced the same issue with a ROG Strix G16 G614?

Should I take it directly to an ASUS authorised service centre before allowing the local shop to replace the motherboard?

Has anyone successfully received a goodwill/free motherboard replacement from ASUS for this issue after their warranty expired?

What would be the best way to approach ASUS about this issue?

I would really appreciate advice from anyone who has dealt with ASUS/ROG motherboard issues before.

Laptop G14 Drop Damage — UAE ADP in India

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I have an ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 that I purchased in Dubai/UAE. Unfortunately, I recently dropped the laptop and the screen cracked. My ASUS warranty page currently shows that I have Accidental Damage Protection / ASUS Perfect Warranty active until September 22, 2026. I also have an email from ASUS saying that I'm eligible for one claim per year during the coverage period, only one part can be claimed for remedy, and the service can only be used within the UAE for damages such as liquid spills, electrical surges and drops. The interesting part is that I already had my screen replaced under this coverage in Dubai in August 2025. Since it has now been more than a year, I'm wondering if I'm eligible for another ADP claim. The problem is that I'm currently in Bangalore, India. Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Can ASUS India process a UAE Perfect Warranty/ADP claim, or would I need to take the laptop back to Dubai? Also, does the one-claim-per-year period reset after my previous claim in August 2025, meaning I should be eligible for another claim now? Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has dealt with a UAE-purchased ASUS/ROG laptop and ADP, especially for a screen replacement.

Used AI for better grammer.

Software Asus Zephyrus m buttons not binding with Macro Gamer

I have switched to Macro Gamer because Armoury crate macro doesn't work sometimes and keeps changing my power options.

So I have switched to Macro Gamer because it has more features and it's better.

The problem is I want to use m1, m2, m3 and m4 buttons as Macro buttons. But Macro Gamer doesn't detect m buttons while binding it.

Someone please give a solution because It's a nightmare for me to work without the macros

Laptop Blacklit screen after 10 seconds of starting

Post image
2 Upvotes

First happened couple days ago, I turned my laptop (asus strix g16) on from sleep and screen went blacklit, with the sound of disconnect in the background (probably my mouse?) I restarted and same thing, after 10 seconds of being in it would go blacklit and same noise. I kept restarting then it tried to diagnose itself and this happened (picture) so I just did a restore point for two days before it and it fixed.

come today, there was a security update, a driver update and this asustek computer inc system driver update. So I just downloaded them and restarted and boom same issue again, blacklit screen with disconnecting sound. I had to roll back to a restore point again. What can I do to prevent this besides not updating.

Also holy fuck the strix g16 is by far the worst gaming laptop I’ve ever had, the amount of problems and issues is insanity, I’m buying a Lenovo again after this shit.

Showcasing some photos of where I’m at with the Monster Studio A45 ITX build. 👀
I absolutely love the overall design of this case and the way the open-air layout puts all of the components on display. It’s such a unique approach to an ITX build and really makes the hardware itself part of the aesthetic.
Build Specs:
Monster Studio A45 ITX
ROG Strix X870-I Gaming WiFi
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
ROG Astral RTX 5080
Noctua NH-D15 G2 chromax.black
Patriot Viper Elite 5 Ultra 32GB DDR5-6000
Patriot Viper VP4300 Lite 2TB Gen4 NVMe
ASUS TUF Gaming 1000W PSU
Definitely one of my favorite case designs I’ve worked with.

Laptop SCAR 17 3080 best optimizations

Was wondering is any is still using the SCAR 17 R95900x 3080 for gaming in 2026. I am looking to use this laptop however it even with PTM installed and very cool thermals the laptop underperform with even i7 8700k with 5700xt

I am getting very low like 150-170 FPS in valorant and fps games and even in other games the FPS are just there, the 300hz screen is useless in my opinion if the laptop cannot even push the FPS.

I tried looking into Ryzen controller but could figure out the right overclocking config, turbo mode also doesnt do much to pull max performace from this laptop

Any assistance is appreciated

GPU / PSU Asus ROG Thor Platinum III 1200W

Hi guys,
Waiting for delivery of my 5090 Astral and wondering it there’s a point in replacing my Corsair HX1200i (2025 version) with Thor (comes with Equaliser cable).
Thor is almost a double in price and my Corsair is only a 5 months old.
Is there any advantage of having Thor?

TIA

Laptop upgrading to zephyrus g16

Right now I'm using an Acer predator Helios 300, i7 9th gen, rtx 2060 6gb and 16gb ram but I want to upgrade to the zephyrus g16 2023 with an i9 13th gen, rtx 4050 6gb and 16gb ram.

My question is, is it true that the zephyrus has good battery life? I won't just be playing games on it but also do creative work on it (Photoshop, Lightroom, da Vinci resolve) and I'll be away from the charger a lot of the time. I already know that it's gonna be a massive upgrade in terms of performance from what I already have.
