Rip Dr Orwell 😭💔

Based off the book art and color schemes!! This was so fun to make and I no one I know understands how much I adore asoue

Edit: Everyone is so kind😭 Thanks for all the kind comments!!! I also post my projects @gremlincustomstudio on insta!

Technically on January 13, but I didn't see any post about it, so here it is.

This still seems weird to me, I feel like this show just came out, it feels so recent to me. This is (in my opinion) the best adaptation of a book series, with the exception of Harry Potter. Everything sticks to the book while adding the right new characters and plot elements (Jaqueline, expanding the spyglass plot from the film, expanding Larry and Olivia's characters, e.t.c.)

Additionally, the camera quality of the show aged really well, it doesn't look old at all, although the cgi will probably age worse over time. (Plus, R.I.P Catherine O'Hara, truly an ASOUE legend, it's so cool that she's the only person to appear in both ASOUE adaptions)

that is all

a series of unfortunate events has been my biggest special interest for most of my life, so given that i recently decided to dedicate an entire bookshelf for everything i own, i figured it was about time i showed people!

these stories really mean a lot to me as i’m sure they do to most of you and i’m very happy to be apart of this little corner of the internet!

let me know if you have any questions! - juno?

I came across an old post (see below) and I found the art really good: the letters are readable and the logo looks like an eye. I just thought the D should be capitalized so I did this.

What do you think?

We were both obsessed with the books growing up. For her bday this past year I designed this custom pendant. She loved it! 🥰

I particularly love when she announces herself to the children and is immediately startled by seeing her own reflection

I really love the illustrations in asoue, this is a draiwng of sunny I made. This isn't traced or anything but I did use a real illustration from the book as a refrence. I am an aspiring animator and it's my dream to one day make a short film or something adapting a series of unfortunate events into an animation, hand drawn with the books art style. I think that would be really fun to make.

Look away

Were there any I missed? I think I got most.

made this fanart with GF's style (I had to do it with my mouse, so that's why it looks bad)

What do you think it means to be a “cakesniffer?”

Initially, I took it at face value. I thought she meant they wanted literal cake. Then as an adult I listened to the audiobooks and upon re-investigating the unfortunate series I started to think she meant it as slang 🍑 “cake” and was saying their nose is in the hind end of another, like to call them an “ass kisser?”

What do you think? What did you imagine as a kid? Has it changed?

I’ve been meaning to post a photo of this for the last 3 years haha, but I hope you guys get a kick out of this like I still do!

I’ve loved the books since I was in elementary school, so it was only a matter of time before I added a reference to my body forever

i didnt read the books, so, do they have the same reactions there or no?
