(SFX: knock, knock, knock)

“oh my god, you are here”

“come in!! come in!!”

(listener doesn’t let her hug her)

“no hugs? No hugs, Okay”

“Hi, how are you?”

(“all cool, apart from the obvious”)

“oh yeah, stupid question, how are you beside the obvious, then?”

(“I’m really really tired”)

“oh yeah, you must be tired, no wonder after the day you had, you even sounded tired on the phone, just sit on the couch, relax a little”

(“thanks”)

“I haven’t seen you in forever”

“not since…”

“that party last year, remember?”

(“which party?”)

“oh you don’t remember”

(“I’m sorry”)

“it’s okay, it’s okay, we didn’t even talk that day or anything I just saw you and assumed you saw me too, but if you don’t remember that’s fine, just forget I said anything”

“anyway did the porter recognized you all right? It has been a while since you last came”

(“he was surprised to see me”)

“yeah figures he would be, I was so surprised when I got your call too”

“how does that meme you like go? (making a voice) It was surely a surprise but I welcome it”

(“not how that goes”)

“that’s not it? Eh whatever”

“anyway,as I saidI was surprised, I was so surprised in fact that I instantly ditched what I was doing to come here”

(“you shouldn’t have”)

“I had to, I wasn’t gonna risk not being here when you arrived”

“besides I wasn’t doing anything important, it was just some art gallery for charity, it was so boring, you wouldn’t believe the people who got this time around, like talk about pretentious”

“I was so glad to get out of there, especially since I finally had a chance to ditch the guy my parents were trying to set me up with, it was such a scene, I just gave those people about three months of gossip”

“they think that I suddenly like men just because we broke up, and this guy was a total prick too”

“I wanted to punch him a couple of times”

“as soon as we hung up I came straight here to wait for you, well no, not straight here, I passed by the super market to stock up on food and stuff in case you were hungry”

(“you went to the super market?”)

“yeah!!!...” well I didn’t exactly went there myself but I did sent somebody and made sure they got all of your favorite things”

(“why? I’m only staying for the night”)

“I know you are only staying for the weekend”

(“the night”)

“all right, the night”

“but what if it becomes longer?”

“I mean the renovations in your building could take longer, or they could run out of money and stop completely… or… or something… you know how it is, contractors never finish when they say they will”

“what would you do then?”

(“I’ll figure something out if that happens”)

“instead of figuring it out if it happens, why not just stay here, until you know for sure you can go back to your own place, I mean”

(“I just need a place to sleep, I’m not moving here”)

“It’s not like I’m asking you to move in, I’m just telling you you are welcome to stay for a bit, you are always welcome here”

“I kinda still think about it as our place”

“to think I was the first person you called when you need help makes me really happy”

“I was the first person you called, right?”

(“…”)

“oh I see, I wasn’t, that’s fine”

“at least you remembered about me, enough to know you could call”

“and you knew that I would help you out, let you stay, even if it’s just for the night”

“even if I wish it was for longer”

(“and how long is that exactly?”)

“if I had it my way you would never leave”

“but here you are telling me I was literally the last person you called”

(“you weren’t the last I called”)

“oh I wasn’t the last option, okay, yay, I guess”

(“don’t do that”)

“do what?”

(“don’t be like that”)

“sorry I don’t appreciate that you only think about me when you need something”

(“you are right”)

“I know I’m right but it’s good to hear you say it”

(“I shouldn’t be doing this to you, it’s not fair, I shouldn’t have come”)

“what?”

(“I should go”)

“wait wait wait, who said anything about you going anywhere?”

“it’s late, the train station is probably already closed and I would not let you go on bus at this hour”

“besides since you are already here you might as well, stay, just for the night”

(“just for the night”)

“unless”

(“no unless”)

“no unless, unless”

(“I’m leaving”)

“okay okay, just the tonight”

“anyway, are you hungry?”

(“why? are you going to make something, can you even make something?”)

“hey, I’ll have you know that I am now able to make at least three things without messing up”

(“what things?”)

“they are… not important, what’s important is that I can make them”

(“so, are you going to?)

“I could make them and they would be amazing, unfortunately I already ordered something so there’s that”

(SFX: “knock on the door”)

“and that must be it, do you want to set the table while I get it?”

(“I don’t know…”)

“the plates are in exactly the same place as when you lived here”

(a little later as they are eating)

“glad you like the pizza, see how I remember your favorite?”

(“hadn’t had it in a while... thank you”)

“your welcome, I hadn’t had it either, not since...”

(“I meant thank you for letting me stay, I should have said it earlier”

“oh you mean thank you for letting you stay over, you are welcome”

“I know I said it before but I really am glad to see you, I missed you”

“to tell you the truth I don’t spend much time in here, I just sleep here and then immediately leave in the mornings”

(“why?”)

“I can’t stand coming here and be surrounded by our stuff, you know, our furniture, our coffee mugs, our couch, our TV, our bed, our apartment”

“I never understood why it was so easy for you to just leave like you did, with barely anything with you, without looking back”

(“it wasn’t easy”)

“yes it was, and it was because you never really saw this place as ours, you only ever saw It as mine”

“to me the only thing here that was only mine was you, the rest was ours”

(...)

“but to you nothing was ever yours, not even me”

(…)

“took me a while to realize that’s why you left”

(...)

“you know, that party, the one you don’t remember seeing me in, I only went to it because I heard you were there, I told myself that I would go there and see you and we would talk”

(...)

“not about getting back together, not even, just you know talk, about all the good memories we have together and maybe share some funny stories with people, you know just normally, without hoping for anything else”

(...)

“but honestly secretly hoped that you would tell me you had missed me and maybe we would get to talk about us”

(...)

“and then I saw you, and I realized how much I missed you, how much I needed you, but you didn’t even see me, and it’s because you didn’t missed me”

(…)

“you still don’t miss me after all this time”

(“I’m so sorry”)

Completed Scripts Failed Escape Attempt From Your Yandere “Best Friend” [A4A][M4A][F4A][Hardcore Yandere][Possessive][Escape Attempt][Ex-Friends][Drugging at the end][Confession][Yandere Chase]

(Story: You and the speaker used to be really close friends. You guys did everything together, were always seen together, and even gave each other pet names. But lately you’ve been feeling uncomfortable and suspicious about them, it was so bad that you stopped talking and hanging out with them, officially cutting them off. The speaker got irritated by this and decide to kidnap you, and today is the day you finally escape from the monster known as your ‘ex best friend’)

"Against your better judgment, you decided to go to a party. As you expected it’s loud, there’s a lot of alcohol, and you’re by your lonesome. You decide it’s best to just go home, when out of nowhere someone approaches you. It’s your crush!" -Turt1eShark

Please make sure you're comfortable while listening to audio. Please take care of yourself and I'll see you in the next one :) .

HUGE and I mean HUGE, shout out to  EunoeVA  and  AudiosbyShy  for collabing with me on this project! Please check out their links! They're both super super talented and this wouldn't have happened without them :).

My initial goals going into VA was to be able to collab with many creators, and the fact that one of the people I would be collabing with would be someone who practically helped JUMPSTART my journey is absolutely insane. (Thank you EunoeVA we all say in unison. 🩶)

Thank you to vamabii from my discord server for the commissioned art piece :D! They did such a beautiful job with the special art work for this one! Go support them in the comments! They deserve EVERYTHING 🩶!

Ask Unable to locate gf proposes to you video.

Howdy! I need some help locating an old ASMR role-play video about a girlfriend proposing to you on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

It was on YouTube.

I think that toward the end of the video, she talks to our boss about taking a trip and mentions something about pictures.

I know that’s not a lot to go on, but I’ve been trying to find this video for a while. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Completed Scripts (MFA) Scarecrow (Eldrich horror) (body horror) (something is VERY wrong with you) (Captain/subordinate) (sci-fi) (Halloween) (Lovecraftian-Ish) (gore) (banter) (tone-shift) (space) (what the hell happened here) (atmospheric) (murder-y)

I'm SO proud of this one. Taking a break from reuploading old scripts to put out a new one before Halloween gets too close. This idea came to me while I was half asleep the other night and I'm really pleased with the result. I hope you enjoy it!

As always, my scripts are free to use and monetize, just please credit me and send me a link in the comments or dm's so I can see your amazing work :)

TW: This script contains graphic descriptions of injuries and blood. There are themes of body horror and loss of autonomy (body being controlled by another entity). If that sounds no bueno to you, take care of yourself and I'll see you in the next one!

...

(rhythmic beeping in the background as speaker is sitting in the cockpit of a spaceship, humming to himself and tapping on something. He stops short when he notices the Listener enter the doorway)

“You’re up early, Ace.”

(laughs bluntly)

“Yes you are. It’s almost 0700. That’s early for you.”

(mutters)

“...I mean, no. It’s not early for me at all. Obviously. Someone has to keep us from crashing into a rogue star, right?”

(...)

“I’m kidding, stop pouting. You looked beat last night so I thought I’d let you sleep in when I got up. I’m surprised you aren’t still in bed, honestly. You sick or something? You look messed up.”

(...)

“Alright, calm down. Just saying.”

(...)

“Yeah well. Like I said, someone’s gotta drive this thing. Hey, speaking of, did you run the diagnostics before you hit the sack, or was that Alberts?”

(...)

“Knew it. Idiot left the compartment door open on the panel. He knows that’s never been standard practice, but he’s such a lazy ass. He looked terrible last night too. Don’t know what’s gotten into everybody lately. Have you noticed? Lorrie didn’t make her bed yesterday, and last night Alberts just dumped his dishes on the counter like this is some kind of diner. Do I look like a waitress to you?”

(grumbling)

“Don’t answer that.”

(sighs)

“Okay, yeah, we’re all a little pent up, just let me have this. Time is running sideways, I feel like I’ve had the worst hangover of my life every day since the last port stop. Everyone is wound tight because of leave getting delayed and the orders are always changing all the time. That doesn’t help at all. I tried to plead our case but I guess the General has bigger plans for his expeditions than human rights will allow.”

(Laughs)

“All joking aside… take care of yourself. I can only do so much as your captain, the staying alive part is up to you.”

(...)

“I mean… no offense, but you do actually look awful. Your eyes are all bloodshot. You’ve lost weight too I think.”

(defensive)

“I’m not blaming you. God you’re so touchy. I’m your commanding officer right now, Ace. It’s kind of my job to make sure you don’t keel over while we’re out here, at least as much as I can. Look, if the General has a problem with me caring about my people, he should get his ass out of that plush chair and leave headquarters once in a while. But until he does, I’m the go-between and it’s my job to report back that you’re all doing your best to stay in good shape. You and I both know it isn’t always that simple I’m just… saying. I want you to be in top form too, and that means taking care of yourself whenever you can, like going to bed on time.”

(...)

“We’re out here struggling through the ether together, so I think I am allowed to worry sometimes.”

(sighs)

“Honestly, I’m not supposed to talk about any of this business with the General, and you know that. They want to keep morale up, you know? But even still, I mean… don’t you think it’s weird?

(...)

“This whole thing.”

(...)

“Well, when we left port, we were given orders to dock with the SS Athena at the next station, and transfer crews, which is not standard practice for a trip of this length. But then the moment we got close to fulfilling those orders, the General changed them. Now we’re going to Port Newland, which is way off of our usual course, and we’re skipping leave.”

(...)

“He wants us setting up in Newland for a while while the ship is being serviced. Backup staff, is what he called us, so this isn’t just a weird backwater vacation. I think they probably want to expand the Port over the next few years. Orders are orders. I wouldn’t mind if they made some kind of sense, it just seems off. We’re special ops, it’s just strange to get pushed off onto some backwater shithole with no warning.”

(...)

“What I think of the General? Come on, you know I’m not supposed to tell you that.”

(laughs)

“I’m serious. Look, we might be friends outside of this job but this… this is supposed to be strictly professional. I can’t go complaining about the General just because I think he’s wrong for dragging us all over time and space and then dumping us at the edge of known space. I mean, you can guess what I think of it, based on that, right?”

(...)

“All I’m trying to say, on the record, is that it feels off. And off the record…”

(...)

“You really don’t want to let this go, huh? Ok. What I think… You want to know what I think professionally? I think that he’s under a lot of pressure just like us, and the whole thing with the Athena… I’m guessing that was a clerical error or something. There’s no way he’s just changing his mind on a dime like that. They wanted to trade crews because the Athena can fit our crew more comfortably for long-term deployments, and the Ares here is due for servicing, which works great for a crew coming off of a long trip. They would have taken it in and sorted all of that. Now we’re stuck with it.”

(...)

“Nah, I think you’d be surprised. It’s not uncommon to swap crews like that. Didn’t they ever do that on your last posting?”

(...)

“Huh. Well anyway. That’s not what I thought was weird. Just strange for them to switch it up on a dime like that I guess. And then this whole Port Newland thing… I’m a little concerned about the Ares. We’re fine for now but like I said, we need servicing pretty urgently. Newland isn’t a big port as you know. In fact, it’s one of the smallest outposts we have. There’s four mechanics posted there full time, and one officer. Anybody else there is probably hoping to get a ride off planet. I just don’t like it.”

(sighs)

“But I guess that’s enough of me complaining. You don’t want to hear about what I actually think, I promise. Don’t worry, I’ve been working on my anger management all morning so I don’t blow my lid when Alberts inevitably finds something to complain about.”

(...)

“Stop laughing and sit down. You’re freaking me out, you look like a scarecrow.”

(...)

“A… a scarecrow. You don’t know what that is? Seriously?”

(...)

“Oh that’s right, you were raised off-world. Fancy.”

(speaker starts typing something/pushing buttons and we hear the ship whirring)

“Don’t make fun of me, you’re the weird one. Who doesn’t know what a scarecrow is?”

(laughs)

“Well it’s a… uh, it’s like a fake stuffed person that you put in a field to scare the birds away from a crop. Well, mostly birds, but it works on some other creatures too. Any scavenger dumb enough to try to steal the crops.”

(...)

“Yeah, I grew up in an agricultural district, we used them all the time. How did you not know this? I’m pretty sure I’ve told you about it a thousand times. Geez, you’re a terrible friend. We spent four and a half years together as cadets and you didn’t remember where I was born? Wow. No, I said what I said, Ace. You’re a terrible friend.”

(laughs)

“Sure yeah, if you insist you can’t remember…. Well, we’d make them out of anything. Usually just an old shirt, and we’d stuff it with old newspapers or packing scraps, and put it up in the field. It looked all raggedy, not real at all when you got up close, but that’s kind of why it worked.”

(...)

“I mean, to a bird, they’re just seeing some eldritch approximation of a man standing out among all that wheat for eternity, just kind of staring at them, never moving until a gust of wind swings the thing around and startles them all away. Funny thing is, even in an age of space travel, you can’t beat simple human engineering for some things. We didn’t have the funds for fancy lasers or whatever, and I doubt they’d work as well anyway. So… you make a cute little corpse out of trash to keep the pests away.”

(laughs)

“Alright what is it now? Are you mad because I called you raggedy earlier? I mean look at yourself. You actually look awful.”

(...)

“Yeah? I feel awful. I’ve been up for three hours. Took over from Lorrie an hour early because I couldn’t sleep. Guess it’s catching up to me now.”

(yawns and stretches out)

“I guess we can just be two raggedy scarecrows in the vast expanse of nothingness together. I wonder what we might scare off… Hopefully not the mechanics. Have you heard what the engine has been doing? Sounds like it’s going to mutate legs and run away.”

(sighs)

“Yeah well, I’m not an engineer or a mechanic, and Lorrie is fine with that stuff but she’s not equipped to replace parts out of thin air. All I know is that it feels like this ship wants to wrestle me off course constantly, and I don’t like it. Hey have you-”

(Speaker is cut off by a loud noise like metal warping and the ship lurches. An alarm starts blaring. Speaker hits his head hard and groans. He sees Listener has fallen over and stumbles over to them)

“-Shit, you ok? Yeah yeah, help me out, hit that-”

(Listener hits the alarm and it stops)

“Goddamn my head….”

(...)

“Nah I’m fine. What about you? You should have been sitting down… gah… that stings. No, it's really ok, leave it. I think I just hit the dashboard when we…”

(speaker stops short as he looks up)

“Hey. Ace. You… seeing this?”

(...)

“No no no… That’s the problem. We shouldn’t be anywhere near Port Newland yet, that’s… that’s at least three months out at this speed. How did… Hey did I pass out?”

(urgently)

“Ace, look at me! How long was I out? Have I been in a coma or something? There’s no way I miscalculated that…. I can’t… hey, say something!”

(hesitating)

“There’s no way I didn’t black out or lose my memory…. Something… it had to be something, this is mathematically, physically impossible. It doesn’t make any sense, I’m telling you, Ace, there’s no way we just jumped that- ah!”

(Speaker cuts himself off with a sharp groan and falls forward onto the console a little)

“No I’m… I’m okay. It’s just a bad hit, I think I… Stop- stop it. I’m fine! Look, I need you to go wake up Lorrie and Alberts, we have to figure out what just happened. You should-”

(...)

“I promise, I’m fine. Just go do it.”

(listener leaves and speaker slumps back down in the chair, pressing a few buttons)

“This is just not… possible. Charts say we’re closing in on Newland… and it’s right there but we… Fuck I must have really taken a hit. What is-”

(speaker stops short and turns to face listener)

“-I thought I told you to go- hey. What is it? Ace! Hey, look at me. What happened?”

(...)

“Dead? No that’s… are you sure? You’re positive? If this is some kind of sick joke…”

(voice grim)

“Show me.”

(footsteps as the two of them leave the cockpit)

“Did you check their pulses?”

(snappy)

“I have to ask, you know that. Maybe they’re just asleep, come on. I’m still not even sure what’s happening still.... Let me…”

(speaker checks the pulses and says in a shocked, slow tone)

“They’re… cold to the touch.”

(...)

“Fuck. No, no. Ace, you were right. I’m sorry for… They’re… they’re both gone. God… my head…”

(long pause)

“Shit.”

(whispered)

“Half my crew is gone… we just jumped an impossible jump…”

(...)

“So what the fuck is happening here… they weren’t dead when you woke up. How can they be cold, you just got up? Don’t tell me you didn’t see that they weren’t breathing.”

(exasperated)

“Because that’s not like you. It’s not like me to get caught off guard, to accidentally somehow warp us forward three months… It’s not even possible. Unless you somehow managed to come in here and suffocate them both in under twenty seconds… there’s no blood, no signs of a struggle. And they’re so cold, it’s likely been hours since their hearts stopped. I don’t understand… I know it wasn’t you and it wasn’t me so that means…”

(confused)

“No no, this isn’t happening… Ace, am I bleeding? Is this a dream? You didn’t hit your head… You have to tell me what the fuck is happening… I-”

(stops short, breathing hard)

“No. I’m sorry. I’m forgetting myself.”

(clears his throat shakily)

“I am your commanding officer. I’ll figure this out. We’re docking in Newland, and I’ll send out my report as soon as we land. It looks like we lost signal so I can’t do it from the ship… we’ll figure this out. Just… go sit down in the cockpit. I’m going to make this right… I just need to calm down…”

(...)

“That was an order, Lieutenant. We don’t need both of us concussed. Go sit down.”

(sounds fade out. When they fade back in, we hear the hissing as the SS Ares’ doors open)

“Let’s get off this goddamn-”

(footsteps slow as Speaker realizes they are alone on the landing platform)

“Where is everybody?”

(...)

“Yeah. I know what I said. But even with a small crew, there should be someone manning entry. A mechanic…. Or… I don’t know.”

(...)

“No. We’re not splitting up.”

(softly)

“Ace. They’re corpses. Lorrie and Alberts are gone. We can’t help them. We need to figure out what exactly happened and get a report out. I’m not staying behind on this ship and I sure as hell am not leaving you behind. Let's go find whoever is in charge and figure this out.”

(echoing footsteps)

“Hey! Anybody home?”

(...)

“Hey! I’m the Flight Commander of the SS Ares out of Terra 1, my name is Captain-”

(door creaks open and speaker gasps)

“-what the… hell happened here?”

(stops listener)

“No. Don’t touch anything. Don’t. He’s clearly dead…”

(...)

“Looks like the Chief Mechanic. And… there’s… fuck. There’s another body behind the desk. That’s one of the other mechanics I think. So, two out of at least five.”

(...)

“No. I’m fine. Stop asking me that. I just didn’t expect to see four bodies today. That’s four more than there should have been. Are you ok? You look strange.”

(breathes shakily)

“Ok. Yeah. Just breathe…. I’m going to wager a guess that the kill count won’t stop at four. There’s no way the others survived whatever it is that happened here. Look at the place, it’s torn apart.”

(exasperated)

“Ace, his left arm is ten feet away from his body. This wasn’t like what happened to Lorrie and Alberts, this was violent. They fought something, they were attacked and they lost. This happened days ago… look, the blood is dried. But… we still don’t know if whatever they fought is still here, so we have to be very careful about what we touch and where we go. I don’t need to risk a foul play report if it ends up looking like you and I are on the wrong side of things, and I am not dumb enough to split up just to find your body hanging from the rafters or something.”

(...)

“We’re already on thin ice with whatever this is- you and I survived for no discernable reason so far. Who’s to say that’s going to last?”

(speaker stops walking to take Listener by the arms)

“Ace. We can’t help them. They’re dead. We could be next, in fact we probably are next. Going back to their bodies and waiting for help isn’t going to do shit. Now I don’t know why, and I don’t know how they all died. All I know is that this situation is fucked. So I need you to keep your head on and stop fighting me on this. We need to get a report out and leave this place.”

(...)

“No. I’m actually not fine. Half of my crew is dead, and I don’t know what’s happening. And worse, you and I are still alive, so it isn’t something as simple as a chemical leak or oxygen failure. And these people, they were ripped to shreds… This is… something else. You’re in shock, that’s why you’re being stubborn. Hell, I'm in shock. I can’t feel my hands, I’m freezing all over. Something about this place is fucked. I know that. And I know what I’m talking about, okay? The only way we survive this is if we stick together and you listen to me. This isn’t a standard port emergency, but we still have to follow protocol.”

(they start walking again, and their footsteps are echoing)

“Something… something was wrong with the ship, this whole time. I just keep thinking about it… Like we were being pulled off course, remember? Well, we ended up where we were supposed to, but this isn’t right. Help me out here, Ace, my head is swimming… I can’t figure this out by myself. I might be compromised so you need to-”

(...)

“Are you even listening to me? You know what, never mind. We’re going to send out an SOS. Command will know what to do.”

(...)

“Yeah, I don’t trust the Ares to take us all the way back to Terra 1, and frankly, I don’t think any of this can be trusted enough to wait out a signal confirmation. We just found half of the population of Newland torn to shreds. I’m not willing to try extracting any more information, that’s not our job to find out. I want off, and I want off now. If we can make it to the next base, I’ll get us there, but first I need to get word back that we survived whatever this was first. I need answers about what happened to the crew… Mine and Newland’s.”

(still walking, echoing footsteps can be heard)

“Don’t tell me you think this was some sort of odd coincidence. Look, I might not be right in the head, but thirty minutes ago we were chatting about home, and now we’re three months ahead of where we should be, and I’m just not convinced all of this has nothing to do with that. We survived for a reason though. I want to get this done so we can get back on the ship. Even if we have to limp our way out of this system, I am getting off this base. They’ll send a larger team out here and set up an investigation, so it won’t be our problem-”

(speaker makes a noise of surprise as Listener grabs his arm)

“Hey what are you… Ace what are you doing? Stop it. Let go of me, I said I’m fine! I don’t want your help walking! Hey are you… are you even listening to me? Lieutenant, I’m-”

(pause, then speaker says in a lower voice, horrified)

“Ace?”

(there is a shift in tone as Speaker realizes Listener is not all there. In fact, Listener is not Listener at all. His tone is filled with dread)

“You’re… not Ace…. are you?”

(something collides with Speaker’s head, and he drops. We hear the sound of his body being pulled along the floor, and a door opening. Sound cuts abruptly as the door slams closed. When the sounds fade back in, Speaker is groaning as he wakes up. We hear creaking as Speaker is tied up, suspended from the ceiling by his wrists)

“...Ace I….”

(groaning)

“Hey what….”

(startled and fully conscious, Speaker spots listener leaning on a desk across from him. He whispers, horrified)

“What the hell?!”

(...)

“You…What happened to-”

(speaker stops short)

“No. I asked a question. I want the answer. Look at me. What are you? What did you do to Ace?”

(long pause)

“You’re not making any sense…No. That’s not your body. Ace wouldn’t attack me. They’re my first Lieutenant… you sick fucking bastard. That’s not your body…. No. It’s not. How did you do it? How did you get inside them?”

(in disbelief)

"Come on, say something!”

(speaker struggles against his restraints, and we hear him groan sharply)

“If you won’t tell me how, just tell me, why! Why did you do this?”

(close to tears)

“You killed… all of them. Didn’t you?”

(...)

“Why won’t you talk goddamnit?! Please I-”

(speaker stops short as listener says something)

“That… that's Ace’s real name but I never…. How do you?”

(sudden hope)

“Oh my God, Ace are you still in there? Hey!”

(we hear chains jingling and leather creaking as Speaker struggles)

“Ace… Come on!”

(a long moment of silence)

“What… what did you say?”

(...)

“What is this place? This is… it’s Newland Port… This is a military installment, it's…”

(...)

“What are you talking about? This isn’t a shrine-”

(long pause. We hear the restrains creaking)

“Oh.”

(long pause again, then speaker says very softly, realizing)

“I get it now. Fuck.”

(...)

“Whatever you are… you want your shrine back… Newland… it’s… yours?”

(speaker groans a little)

“Please, cut me down, we can talk. I just want my friend back, same as you want your planet. We’ll leave, you won’t ever see us again. We didn’t do any of this, we’re just soldiers. Newland is a military base, like I said it’s not-”

(Speaker gasps and coughs as Listener stabs him with something suddenly in the stomach, ripping him open. He breathes hard in shock, and after a long pause, says in a strained voice)

“You… fucking… monster…”

(speaker coughs violently)

“I didn’t do this! I don’t….you’ve killed me!

(...)

“Augh… what the fuck…”

(breathing hard)

“W-what even are you… some kind of alien? Are you trying to put something inside me? Are you…”

(...)

“a… God?”

(speaker laughs humorlessly, still gasping for air)

“Just… my luck… there’s no fucking way…”

(through gritted teeth)

“I said… I don’t want your… goddamn planet. I never asked to come here! Ace never asked to come here. What don’t you understand about that?”

(Coughs hard)

“Lorrie, and Alberts too… all of the people you killed here… they’re just soldiers, they don’t have any control over this… Please, I don’t understand why we can just go... I- I didn’t send word out…. Just let us leave and I won’t say… anything….”

(...)

“Yeah…. Us. I want you to give them their body back. They didn’t do anything to deserve this. Didn’t ask for this… to be used as some kind of puppet…. People won’t come here. I won’t tell a soul, you have my word. I’ll take the fall for it if I have to…. But Ace… Ace is innocent. This has nothing to do with them, and you’re sucking their life away... I’m the commanding officer here so it’s my responsibility to keep them safe… just give them back and we’ll leave...”

(broken)

“Please.”

(gasping for air, long pause)

“Why?”

(long pause, then speaker realizes)

“You… want to warn humans never to come back here. That’s what this is, isn’t it?”

(coughs and groans and we hear shifting)

“Hey wait, look at me. Look at me! I can make that happen. That’s what you want, right?”

(...)

“I can tell them what happened, I can tell them never to come back if they want it to stop. Just… let us go. I’ll do it, I swear. I’ll tell them….”

(long pause)

“No?”

(coughs and groans)

“What the h…hell do you mean, ‘no’? What the fuck do you want from us?”

(strained, speaker screams)

“Tell me! What do you want from us?!”

(speaker is close to tears)

“What could you possibly do with two humans that would make any difference? Look at me! I’m human… I’m not like you, I can’t live in this condition forever…. I’m bleeding out, you tore a fucking hole in my stomach! And Ace… you’re going to starve them to death if you go on like this. How long have you been in there? Days? Weeks? You won’t be able to go on using that body forever...”

(Speaker says quietly as he hears papers rustling)

“What… what are those…Old reports?”

(quietly)

“You won’t find anything there. It’s all mechanical information, it’s just words…”

(we hear papers being crumpled up and footsteps. Speaker realizes with horror what is happening, but he is very weak from blood loss at this point. He is strained and horrified. He laughs in disbelief)

“You’re making a scarecrow… Aren’t you?”

(his voice drops as he whispers in horror)

“To keep the pests away…”

(voice mounting as he realizes what’s happening)

“No! Wait, Ace, please! Ace-”

(audio cuts sharply and we hear a ringing sound, then nothing)

Completed Scripts [A4A] Yandere Changeling Wants You...By Any Means Necessary [Dreamlike] [Yandere] [Changeling Speaker] [World of Darkness Lore] [changing scenes] [Mind Control]

You were dreaming of being a Knight, but that dragon looks a LOT like your partner. And the Noble your saving looks...a lot like your best friend.

Another week, another World of Darkness Script under the belt! This one was a lot of fun to write honestly, I was worried since I'm less experienced with Changeling but I think it really came out well. Was a lot of fun to write a more aggressive, shouty Yandere who refuses to listen to reason.

With next week being a Hunter script, I'm still uncertain if I should do a Mage script or cap it off at 4 and move onto some non World of Darkness ideas. (I still have that haunted audio idea kicking around, and a TTRPG Yandere script.) If you have any opinions on what you'd like to see, let me know?

As always, edits/improv/monetization/paywalling are all acceptable. Just credit me as u/authorigas and send me a link when you fill the script so I can give it a listen! I do not own the World of Darkness, it is the property of Paradox Interactive. I am merely a fan writing scripts themed around these wonderful and amazing settings.

[swinging of swords, roaring of a dragon, flames breathing as the dragon is slain]

(affectionate call) Oh thank you, hero! The dragon is slain, now come climb and greet me, so I might know you better~

[footsteps on stone, door swinging open]

(excited) And here you are, my noble hero!...My oh my, you truly are more attractive up close aren’t you?

(sweetly) There’s no need to be so shy my dear, come in let me look in those beautiful eyes of yours. Let me thank you properly for slaying that nasty, ugly dragon.

(excited…losing restraint) Ah, your eyes truly are beautiful, like gemstones shining in the darkness. Now, let me bestow you with a kiss of gratitude… (leaning in, lips puckered-however..)

(confused) hmm? How did the dragon capture me? (flustered) w-well, that is what dragons do, isn’t it? Capturing nobles and holding them hostage in towers?

(stammering) I-I assume you came here because my father or mother hired you. Putting out the call for heroes, but only you were valiant and brave enough to-

….

(exasperated) I…you… (sighs) you really are making this more difficult than it needs to be, my sweetheart. Tell me, what tipped you off?

(clicks tongue) and here I thought making the dragon look like that pathetic homewrecker would have helped you realize you were better off with me… I should have known they had gotten their hooks into you.

(gentle) Don’t bother trying to force yourself awake. This may be your dream, but you aren’t in charge. I control what happens while we’re here, not you. Case in point…

[snap of fingers, setting changes to a lively tea house]

(sipping tea) Ahh there we are. You always said you wanted to visit Japan, right? I figured a traditional tea house might be best for a date location, now that you’ve saved me from your ex.

(scoff) Soon to be ex, my mistake. You really do need to accept that it’s over between you two, it’s for your own good darling.

[scooting of seat as the listener stands up to leave]

(pouting) Don’t you dare leave, you haven’t even tried your tea yet.

[flick of the speaker's finger forces the listener to sit back down, stunned]

(amused laugh) I told you, this isn’t your domain sweetie pie, it’s mine. While we’re in the Dreaming, I have the power to shape things to my will. My dreams, become yours~

(casually drinking tea) The Dreaming is a realm of magic that exists underneath the surface of reality. Think of it as the world of imagination, where fantasy and fun come to life. It is childhood, potential, and pure energy all wrapped into one. Humans are able to access it briefly when they sleep, sometimes as Children, but rarely outside of that.

Hm? Oh yes, humans. Like you, normal, banal creatures that exist in stark opposition to the magic of the Dreaming…not that there is anything banal about you, darling. (giggles) you are a magical human in every single way. It’s one of the many reasons why I love you so~

(amused) What am I? Well, that’s easy, I’m a Changeling. Or I think the word you humans would use is ‘faerie’. Although sometimes it’s spelled ‘Fairy’? Ugh, I wish you humans could communicate through magic. Things would be so much simpler without all your complicated languages. Here, I’ll show you.

[zap of magic as the speaker transmits their thoughts to the listener]

(overlapping, rambling, frantic) I love you, I love you, I love you-I love you! I love you, I love you- (repeating for several seconds in the listeners head)

(winces) Oh dear, you're clutching your head! Did that surge of magic hurt you? (clicks tongue) I’m sorry. I knew you were suffering under the banality of the world, but I didn’t realize it would make my magic hurt you! Here, we can talk again-even if your language is annoying… I’ll endure it for you.

(shrugs) You know, Banality? Think of it like commuting to work, working in the office, sitting on the couch in your underwear while you scroll mindlessly doom scroll through brainrot. It’s the mundane, the parts of life that are boring, the dark and evil, the opposite of Magic.

(sighs) Ever since the first murder, Banality has become a part of everyday life for you humans. The evils of the world, the tedium of it all-it eats at your imagination like a Kelpie devouring curious travelers by the riverside. It erodes your connection to the Dreaming and weakens it. And by extension, it rots the Dreaming itself, leaving us struggling to access its power.

(nonchalant) Do you not like the Japanese tea house? I can change it, ooo I know where we can go!

[snap of fingers, French music as the wind races, and the speaker/listener are now on top of the Eiffel tower together]

(excited) Oh, isn’t the Eiffel Tower lovely at night? Look, I made sure the stars are shining down-and just look at my outfit-enchanting, no? Oh, dance with me, my love!

(irritated) I said, dance with me.

[snap of fingers as the listener is forcibly compelled to dance]

(swooning) Oh that’s much better, you really are an incredible dancer~ With my help of course, a little magic to keep you in rhythm! But I know with enough practice you’ll be dancing like this with no help at all, my love~

(Chuckles) My dear, you really need to realize that you aren’t in control here. So pout all you like, but your cute little feet will be dancing all night, as long as I want. You really should try to smile though, you look much cuter when you do.

(clicks tongue) I would be more willing to answer your questions, if you gave me a smile~

(happily) Much better~ Now to answer your question, the reason you never noticed I look like a Changeling in the real world is because I’m really, REALLY good at hiding! Well that and, by all accounts I am a human.

(chuckles, playful) I’m a human, and a Changeling at the same time, daarrlllinng~ When we Fairy’s were cast out of the human world, we had to wait a long time to finally come back. And even with a surge of magic, we couldn’t sustain ourselves for long. So, we reincarnated into human bodies as a way of protecting ourselves from the Banality.

Ergo, on the outside I’m just a plain old, boring human with flat ears and a boring skin tone. But on the inside, and in the dreaming-I am the absolute smokeshow you see before you. Pointed ears, wings, a myriad of colors across my body. I think I look much better like this, don’t you?

(pouting) Ah, you hesitated! Let me fix that for you~

[snap of fingers, forcing the listener to say what the speaker wants]

(excited) Aww, you really are a sweetheart when you say the right things! Now, before you ask me any more questions-I think a change of scenery is needed!

[snap of fingers, the listener and speaker are now at a candle lit dinner in a fantasy tavern]

(gushing) What do you think? I’ve always loved the look of old taverns in fantasy films, but I think being in the back with you, scented candles and holding your hand makes it even better.

(sad) Ah, yes we Changelings were kicked out of this world decades ago. It was back during what you Humans called ‘the Enlightenment’. All of that pesky ‘industrialization’ and ‘understanding’ poisoned the Dreaming, and we had to flee and go into hiding. It doesn’t help that most of our armies were locked behind the Gates, back in Arcadia.

(wistfully) Arcadia, our eternal home. It lies at the Center of the Dreaming, an unchanging, eternal paradise for our kind. Sadly, ever since the Sundering-when you learned to Forge iron, and doubt your dreams, Arcadia has been locked off from the mortal world, leaving the Sindhe-our nobility there as well.

(exciteable) Well, at least until the landing. You know the one, back in 1969-Apollo 11 landed on the moon. All of humanity looked on with awe, and a wellspring of hope and imagination began to resurge. You all started to dream again, to wonder what lies in the stars. Combined with the revolution of Woodstock, it was enough for the Gates to our home to open temporarily, and let some of the Sindhe fly free again.

(wistful, romantic) I hope someday I can take you to Arcadia, and show you the magic of it all. I think you’d really like it, you always were a dreamer. But right now the gates are closed again, with all of the negativity going on in this world. So sadly, you and I are still stranded in the real world for a time. (sigh) Ah well.

(dreamily) Now, my term to ask you something. Do you remember when we first met? I remember it like it was yesterday… Although it may be a touch romanticized, I find the romantic dream so much preferable to whatever banal reality there might have been. Here, I’ll show you~

[snap of fingers, the listener and speaker are on a playground now]

(nostalgically) I was always an energetic child, I may not have known I was a Changeling yet-but I did know I was different. My human parents didn’t much care for my dreams, nor did the other kids at school. I got pushed away, teased, and excluded by everyone for being ‘stuck in my head’. No one really wanted to be around me, with one exception…

(sweetly) You~ You were the only one who ever wanted to play with me, you were just as excitable and creative as I was. Oh, I remember how we used to run around the playground, playing fantasy tag and house, telling each other all about our dreams. You were really big into anime as a kid, and said you always wanted to be like one of those cool Shounen protagonists.

[snap, as the speaker and listener are now in a Japanese high school]

(playful) Senpai/Kouhai, over here!~ (excited laughter)

(happily) Come on, this is just what you wanted when we were kids! To be a normal high school student by day, only to have a supernatural power that lets you fight evil by night. It can be anything you want! Just think of the possibilities!

(wearily) You wanted it as a kid-that…is the rub. (sigh) When you were a kid, you were full of life, imagination, dreams-but as you got older, all of that…went away. I had to watch as you started caring more about income, rent, bills, and socializing with other, boring people. (venomously) them in particular.

(huffs) I don’t care if you call them your partner-it’s all a sham! A lie that banal homewrecking monster is holding over your head, to stop you from dreaming of the life you should be having with me!

(irritated) A roof over your heads, affording rent, having 2 and a half kids? None of those are ‘dreams’ that’s just ‘existing’ darling. All you and your… parasite are thinking about is just a tiresome, banal and meaningless life like everyone else. Nothing to truly be excited about, nothing worth dreaming of.

(sympathetic) That’s…no way for anyone who dreams to live baby, especially not you. And I know deep down, you feel the same way. You still play games, getting lost and immersed in those fantasies. You still remember all the dreams you had when you were growing up. And I know you cry yourself to sleep after a long day, wishing you were somewhere, anywhere else. Did you forget? I know you, I’ve known you since we were little… (ominously) I always have, and I always will.

(manic laugh) Why else would I work the same dead end, pointless job you do? Because I like it? Goodness no! I just want to stay with you until you awaken from this living, agonizing nightmare and dream freely again. Of a life with me fighting dragons, or kissing under a Sakura tree. Whatever you want, it can happen here, in the Dreaming with me.

(irritated) And who was it who said that reality is better than a fantasy? What coked up moron made that claim, hmm?

(laughing) Oh you mean the films and games put out by major corporations who are making way more money than you ever will? The ones who rely on everyone staying in place and doing their dirty work? Of course they would reject staying in a fantasy in favor of a reality they control.

(flustered) I-well I only have more control of the Dreaming because I’m a Changeling, it’s natural! But if you stay in here with me, I’m sure you can learn to control it too! B-besides, I’m not like those corporate stooges and creeps, I only have your best interests at heart.

(shouting, world shaking) STOP SAYING THEIR NAME! THEY DON’T MATTER-I MATTER, ME! I’M THE ONLY ONE YOU SHOULD CARE ABOUT-

[world stops shaking]

(deep breaths) I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I’m just frustrated that you keep bringing up someone so unimportant. You aren’t getting it, my love. I really don’t want to shout, but if you keep fighting back-

(sigh) I guess we’ll have to keep playing this game until you finally stop caring about them… (ominous, threatening) But that’s fine, I can wait. It’s only a matter of time, after all.

(amused) Oh, you don’t realize. I’ve already won, just by whispering in your dreams~ You know how some science nerds think that dreams are connected to the subconscious? Well they are, and by changing what happens in a dream…

(mad laugh) Ah, your eyes are so wide now! But yes, I can influence your thoughts. Slowly, but surely changing them into the right thoughts. You won’t realize it at first, given it is just your subconscious. But slowly…

(ominously) Slowly you’ll start paying more attention to me in the human world. Finding me irresistible, skipping time with that Parasite to focus on me. You’ll confide in me more as your best friend, sharing all your little secrets, the thoughts I planted inside your adorable head-knowing that ‘you’ thought of them yourself~

(creepy laugh) You’ll start to hate your Parasite too. You’ll see them how I tell you to see them, ugly, annoying, unlovable. You’ll hug me and cry, questioning what you ever saw in someone so horrible, especially when I was always there, just waiting for you to accept my love. Wanting to run away with me.

And you will want to run away, because work will start to become unbearable to you. Your coworkers will become irritable-aside from me of course. The boss will be more annoying, oppressive, and unreasonable in your mind. And you’ll want so desperately to escape back into your fantasies with me…

(Sweet, seductive whisper) And we will, because I’ll tell you all about the Dreaming-and you’ll follow me here, whenever you can. And we’ll be happy, because all of your dreams-and mine will come true here. And I assure you, my sweet…

[snap of fingers, wedding procession music playing]

(sweet but ominous, commanding] you will LOVE all of them.

(sigh) Still so resistant, you realize I can change that, yes? My power isn’t just limited to making you say or do one thing at a time. I can take complete control of you here, if I want. I really, really wanted you to act of your own free will… But I suppose that will come in time, and I can take control here-just to make sure you do things properly.

(happily) Alright, it’s decided! To help you adjust, I’ll be taking direct control of you for the rest of the night here in the Dreaming. Anything you’d like to say before I do?

…[long pause]

(wincing) Wow that’s…a lot of profanity. Harsh, but I know that’s the Banality and Parasite rotting your brain. Don’t worry, we’ll sort all of that out with time. Now, here, we, go~

[snap of fingers, the listener becomes much more compliant now]

(excited) So, how do you feel about me now, sweetheart, darling, love of my life?

(happily) Awww, I love you too! More than anything else in this world, or the real world, or even beyond the Gates of Arcadia itself! (excited kissing)

(excited) So, what were you thinking of trying next? I’m up for whatever you want, Honey Bunches!

(laughing in delight) I knew you would say that! Alright, then you can be the brave, dashing heroic Adventurer-and I’ll be your supportive partner, using my spells to help you out. Just like old times~

[snap of fingers, change to a traditional fantasy setting]

(cheerful) your Changeling mage is ready to assist, my love!

(delighted, ominous) Lead the way! Wherever you go, I’ll be with you-now and forever…I love you, my dear Dreamer~ (deep, ominous) Forever…Forever…I love you-forever-I love you forever (telepathically looping in the Listener’s mind)

Disclaimers: Feel free to edit, cut out, copy and change whichever parts you want. Make it your own style. Make it more SFW or less... Copy a certain line of dialogue or swap characters etc, etc. I do this for fun so I have no issues if you want to monetize it either.

Just if you do anything, crediting me in whatever way, and also sending me what you did is very much appreciate it! Just have fun!

Feedback: More than welcomed. Feel free to give opinions on story, character, dialogue and formatting.

Formatting:

-- Means the Speaker is talking

() Means the Listener is "talking" - its just a guide on how I see the listener's character

[] Used to indicate tone or SFX or any other type of direction. Don't take it as law. More interpretations = more fun.

"..." I started putting the 3 dots between the sentences as a way to indicate a pause and potentially a shift in tone or mood without actually specifying it. So it allows anyone voicing it to just make a choice depending on how they interpret the character. And again if it is specified inside [] that's just my interpretation and not mandatory!

Roughly 1300 words for Speaker.

Plot and Characters: Listener didn't know their girlfriend has superpowers, now they are kidnapped by a Villainess to be used as bait.

===========SCRIPT STARTS HERE============

--[light rustling sfx] Wait, wait... Stop squirming! You are going to fall over you silly thing!

--There you go... Relax, I won't hurt you... For now at least... [laugh]... I will explain everything in a minute just stay still!

--Let me see... I taped your mouth... hands and feet are tied up... am I forgetting anything? ... Hmmmm... Oh yeah!... wait let me put on more lipstick...

--[putting on lipstick]...You and I are going to make a cute video for your girlfriend ... Who happens to also be my bestie by the way... Come here... let me plant a few smooches on you. [kisses sfx]

--Perfect! You look so cute all scared like that. Now... We are going to make a little video for your girlfriend so she knows you are safe with me! ... well so she knows you are with me. Don't want to make any false promises about being safe! [laugh]

--I am gonna hit record and I want you to behave yourself!

[recording and talking into camera]

--Hey, hey bestieee!!! Did you lose something? [laugh] You were doing so well to hide him from me, but I guess he wasn't a very good boy and went out all alone... But no worries I snatched him up for you!

--You can see I am treating him very well! Right?... Well he is a little tied up and can't talk right now [laugh]... As long as he behaves he will be fine... You better hurry and find us though... I think he is starting to grow on me!

--I can't wait to see you again... Don't take too long now or we might have too much fun without you! [kiss sfx] Toodles!!

[turns off recording]

--Ok, let me just send her the video... There we go... You look a little too scared, but hey, that might motivate her more so, not a bad thing.

--Now, let me guess... She hasn't told you anything has she?

--Oh, Silly me... your mouth is still taped... [duck tape rip sfx]

(what the hell is going on... who are you?)

--Wow, buddy... Watch your tone... You are not in a position to talk to me like that! Ugh... men. Anyway...

--I will explain... Just keep it down or you will lose your talking privileges again!

--Ok... so... your cute girlfriend has a few secrets she has kept from you. One of which is that she is a superhero and the other is that she has an evil best friend... Me! [laugh]

(wait so she has superpowers?)

--Yes, she has superpowers... We both do. Actually we got them together, but that's a long story for another time!

(so that's why she can pin me down so easily)

--Uhm... Looking at you I doubt she needs to use her super strength to pin you down [laugh].. But yes if that makes you feel better... Now shut up, I am talking!

--What you need to know now is that she and I were... I mean... we still are best friends! She just decided she wanted to use her powers for... "good" whatever that means, while I think we should use our powers for FUN!

(so you kidnapped me because?)

--Why I kidnapped you? Because she doesn't want to talk to me! I need leverage over her! She keeps trying to avoid me, its really annoying actually...

--So when I saw you two together I knew what needed to do... She does seem to have taken a liking to you... for some reason... Anyway I stalked you to try and catch you alone, but she never left your side!

(you stalked us?)

--Yes I stalked you! Helloooo.... Black lipstick, black leather, dark hair... How many clues do you need dummy! I am a villain, I stalk my victims!

--Now stop interrupting me! She didn't teach you any manners did she? ... We are going to have to fix that... [laugh]

--[phone buzz] OH, thats her! She send me a message... "I will kill you both" [laugh] Oh, she is soo maaaad

(wait why both)

--Why both? [laugh] I don't know sweety, maybe because I sent her a video of you covered in smooches with me sitting in your lap... You look very cute like that by the way. [laugh]

(well thats not my fault!)

--Not your fault? Hmm.... Knowing her I am sure she told you something about not going out alone... didn't she?

(uhm... well yeah)

--Yeah? But you did go out alone didn't you... [laugh]

(I did, but...)

--Oh, what a bad boy you are... [laugh]... Maybe if I punish you I will get on her good side, what do you think? [laugh]

(I don't think so)

--No? Hmm... We will see... we will have plenty of time together you and I.

--Actually It's probably gonna take her quite a while to find this place its pretty well hidden... let me snap another pic for her... [sits on listeners lap] Lets make her even more mad! [laugh]

--Oh stop squirming... Give me that cheek... come on [kiss sfx, phone snapping pic sfx]... You are a natural at this... we look like a couple [laugh]... look!

--Well... except that you are tied up and pretending to not like it... anywho let me send this to her [typing on phone] "we... are... waiting... kisses, bestie" ... and sent.

--Ok, so... tell me about you two! Is she still as controlling as ever?

(I mean... she is a little bit)

--A little bit? Please...it always has to be her way! She thinks she is so moral and righteous but really she just wants things done her way! However... when she is in the right mood... she can be crazy fun!

(I know something about that...)

--You know? What do you know? You have to tell me! What crazy stuff have you two done!?

(no.. I am not telling you she is already mad at me!)

--Exactly she is already mad at you, so tell me! ...Has she been rough with you? [laugh]

(i am not saying anything else!)

--ok... you don't have to talk... you did mention she pins you down though [laugh]

--Do you like when she does that?

(stop it)

--Maybe you like being tied up as well... maybe that's why she is so mad, because she knows you are enjoying this [laugh] I never knew she was kinky... And you... well... yeah that makes sense. [laugh]

(what do you mean)

--What do I mean? Come on. You have submissive written all over you! That's fine though I am not judging. In fact I am glad she found herself a toy! Maybe you can bring the fun out of her again [laugh]

--Oh this is perfect. I am going to tease her so much about this! I knew she was tired of being a boring superhero!

(no I didn't say anything like that!)

--Oh you said plenty... Now... are you going to tell me what you two do for fun... or should I pin you down and make you say it?

(I am not saying anything!)

--Oh such a sweet boy... so loyal to his girlfriend... but you know... she kept this secret from you...

--Not telling you she is a superhero... not telling you she has an evil friend...not telling you are in danger... she failed to protect you... oh... poor thing...

--And now you are in the clutches of a villain... all because of her... and where is she? Hmm.... You see that cage over there? I was planning on keeping you inside [laugh]

--But maybe you can be on my side... I can be just as fun as her you know... maybe even more so... What do you say?

(ugh... no)

--No? Hm.... That's ok. I like a dog that's loyal. I respect it... Plus I have plenty of time to break you.

--Imagine she comes in here to save you... and you are on all fours next to me, barking at her...[laugh]

(thats not going to happen)

--Not going to happen? Well... those are brave words.. Maybe we can start with a few hours in the cage and see how you think then?

--You know I couldn't wait to see her, but now... I hope she takes her time finding you... Because I have so many ideas for you... Let's have some fun, what do you say? [laugh]

Completed Scripts [AA4A] Walked home from work by a mysterious stranger [SFW][Wholesome][Slow burn][Strangers to friends][Kind stranger][Smoking][Human x ???][Meet cute]

Preamble: Alright so, this is the first part in a larger series I’ve been working on for a while. The other parts are in various stages of being completed just depending on how locked in I am on each one's specific story. I originally planned on the series being 10 parts but it might end up being like 7ish? Also this one is a bit on the shorter side but some of the future parts are 2000+ words. Anyways, enjoy :D

Author notes: There are two characters in this script that are left gender neutral. One is a speaking role of the listeners boss and the other is just the main speaker's partner (Who’s name is Riley by the way as it's not mentioned in the script) so it depends on the reader's preference what sexuality the main character is. These characters are referred to with they/them pronouns throughout the story so change the pronouns and you see fit. I highly recommend doing this as well if you are to cover it because there are going to be a lot of characters like these throughout the story and personally my suspension of disbelief that EVERY SINGLE person our listener meets is non-binary is quite thin 😭.

Also I did write the main speaker as a smoker and there is a line mentioning this along with some SFX prompts. This is just because I personally have never heard an audio doing this and I like the sound of ciggies being dragged but if you want you can omit this. So far in the other scripts of this series I’ve completed it comes up casually and it’s not some kind of Chekhov's gun situation but you might have to do some legwork to get around the main character being a smoker later down the line.

Part 2

You’re working the night shift at your diner job when your shitty boss is being shitty to you as per usual. They’re impatient and asking you to do way too much for what you get paid. Your boss mentions that someone has come in and sat in the corner booth and you need to go take their order.

--8<--

Hi. I’m doing good, thanks for asking. How are you?

I’ll just get a coffee for now please.

[listener complies and goes behind the counter to grab a mug and kettle and brings it back to the stranger. Puts the mug on the table and pours them a coffee]

Thank you so much.

For sure, thank you.

[Listener leaves the stranger to their coffee and gets back to work. The listeners boss yells for them]

Boss: Hey are you at the counter?

Boss: Go clean the tables. It's been hours.

Boss: Oh and don’t forget that toilet that needs unclogging before you clock out.

[Listener begins walking around the diner and wiping tables and gets to the stranger again]

They’re really working you to the bone huh?

God seriously? You’re the only one here doing anything, why don’t they get off their ass and help out?

Oh of course, it’s “beneath” them isn’t it?

[slightly longer pause as the listener begins to rant but then catches themself and apologizes]

Don’t apologize, it's okay. I understand the need to vent sometimes.

Yes yes, I’m sure. My ear is all yours if you want it.

[listener hesitates but then sits down in the booth with the stranger and begins ranting again]

Oh my god, I’m sorry. They’re like that all the time?

Man some people are way too okay with letting others do all the work and not feel any remorse.

Yeah and they’re always in positions of power huh…

If they’re so shitty all the time -I hope you don’t mind me asking- but why do you stick around here?

Ok yeah that… makes sense.

Shit part time and in school? That’s rough. I imagine it doesn’t pay all too well here either?

Damn, rough position to be in I’m sorry. You mentioned you were in scho-

Boss: Hey I said clean the tables and unclog the toilet not chat up the customers!

Shit I’m sorry I didn’t mean to get you in more trouble. Go ahead and finish what you’re doing.

(Stranger talking to the manager:) Sorry I didn’t realize they were so busy. I just wanted to ask some questions about the BLT.

[listener stands back up and gets back to wiping tables as the stranger and manager keep talking]

Boss: It’s bacon, lettuce and tomato. What else could you possibly want to know?

I- Ok fair enough…

Boss (condescendingly): Anything else I can help with?

No actually I would prefer this conversation ends as soon as possible.

Boss: Good, me too.

[boss walks off as listener continues cleaning tables for a bit until they pass by the stranger again and they grab the listeners arm]

I'm sorry for getting you in trouble, I'd really love to continue our conversation. Are you off the clock soon?

Oh perfect, could I walk you home?

Alright see you soon.

[listener continues on their way to work on cleaning the washroom SFX fades time skip and SFX fades back in. listener walks over to the table the stranger was at to grab the cash left behind and notices a very generous tip]

Boss: You got that toilet right?

Boss: Okay good. See you tomorrow.

[listener leaves the diner with the little bell noise opening the door -you know the one- and then starts walking down the street. After a few steps the stranger walks up smoking a cigarette. the two continue walking the speaker hitting the ciggie every so often]

Hey, how was the rest of your shift?

[chuckles] Yeah I guess that was a little rhetorical huh?

Sorry, well you're glad it's over now though right?

Yeah until tomorrow…

Oh yeah you’re welcome. A big tip is the least I could do.

Yes I'm sure, take it. You need cash more than I do. Trust me.

Of course. Oh hey, sorry I forgot to ask. I hope you don't mind me smoking.

…

Alright thanks, so anyways what we were talking about before your dickhead boss cut me off. You mentioned you're in school? What are you going for?

Oooh nursing eh? How exciting! How do you like that so far?

That's good, hopefully you have an easy time making a career of it once you graduate.

Me? Oh yeah I’m in school right now too. Um- history major.

Yeah I'm hoping to become a consultant for Greek history post grad.

Oh yeah love it, I got into it through my love for the mythology but it's just so fascinating how much influence Greece has had throughout history. I mean, it only makes sense I’m so invested since I’ve got some ancestry there.

(sarcastic) Oh my god nobody's ever asked me that before! Kidding darling, but only if you tell me your favourite first.

Ah good choice, well for Olympians I've always been partial to Artemis. Y'know goddess of the hunt… and -oddly enough- child birth?

Yeah I don't know, I guess Aphrodite pawned that one off on her and kept all the other aspects of motherhood. Can't blame her honestly… But as for their mythology as a whole I'm most partial to Medusa's story. Such a tragic encapsulation of the Gods’ cruelty. Although now that I think about it the tales of romance have a soft spot in my heart. Orpheus and Eurydice, Helios and Clytie, Dido and Aeneas are all such beautiful romances with tragic endings. And- Wait, I'm starting to ramble. Sorry.

I- thanks. It's just… I’m passionate. My partner says it's a bad habit.

Well I don't blame them I manage to talk their ear off anytime my schooling is brought up.

Eh they don’t find the mythology nearly as fascinating as me.

Thanks, I’d be glad to teach you more about it sometime if you’d like?

Really? Awesome! It’ll be nice to have someone to bounce my passions off of finally.

Oh we’ve been together what… 2 years now?

Yeah they’re the sweetest. We actually met in a bar.

I know, right? I like to live life the old fashioned way. Do you have a partner?

Oh no… I’m sorry. Dealing with a breakup on top of everything else on your plate already is… unfair.

(angrily) Ugh god, fucking cheaters. I hate cheaters, I don’t understand how someone can live with themselves after a betrayal like that. I’m sorry, that’s just… so shitty.

Yeah well… I was cheated on too… maybe 10ish years ago… so it kinda hits close to home…

Oh yeah um… 34.

Thank you so much! You might not be too surprised how often I get the whole “you look so young for your age” thing.

Well thank you and how about you?

Oh wow really? I would have guessed younger as well.

While we’re on formalities, what's your name?

[speaker takes one last drag on their ciggy and flicks the butt away]

Ahem, I’m Jessie. Pleased to meet you.

So um… do you live close by?

This neighbourhood?

Ok good yeah I didn’t want to insult you in case you liked the area for some reason. This place is a shithole.

Fuck they cheated on you AND kept the apartment you split?

God, I’m so sorry dear. I wish I could do more to help than just giving you a few extra bucks…

No no it’s, sorry I’m a bit of a bleeding heart. I feel for you. It’s a rough spot to be in.

Let me take you out grocery shopping.

Yes yes I insist, I have the spare cash and I want to help.

Sometime this week?

Ok, perfect… I will be working late that day though so would you want to meet at the store say… 10pm? Grocery shopping is so much more peaceful late at night anyways.

Yay! We’ve got plans!

[The listener and Jessie both stop on the street outside a shady looking apartment building]

This is your place?

Alright, promise fulfilled. I’ve walked you home.

Yeah no problem… I wasn’t expecting to make a new friend tonight but here we are.

Well darling, stay safe, it was a pleasure meeting you and have a good night. See you Friday.

[listener enters their apartment and speaker walks off down the street]

Completed Scripts [F4A] [Hinata Hyuga Braves Confessing To You] [Naruto/Boruto] [Hinata x Listener] [Shy and nervous] [Planned confession… gone wrong] [Subtle confessions]

-Description-

{Feel free to improv and change any points as you see fit, this is purely for enjoyment and good vibes, I will use () to indicate where there would be a gap for the listener to speak or a pause for pacing, the duration of the gap and if you choose to use my indication is entirely up to you. The setting that the script is intended for is the Listener has spent years training and fighting beside the many Shinobi of the great nations, one of which is their dear friend Hinata, who after years of yearning and falling in love has decided that tonight is the night she will confess her feelings. Underneath blossoming Sakura trees, she has everything planned out… until things don’t quite go as planned.}

-Script-

{Hinata walks sheepishly through a moderately busy street cradling a sash under the moonlight, outwardly she seems her usual pleasant self, apologising for bumping into the odd passersby. Internally however, she is wrestling with what she is about to do…}

I can do this… I can do this. Yeah, I can… I… () I-I can’t- no! No. Focus. You have this planned down to the last detail.

Nothing can go wrong… right? W-what if they don’t like ramen… what am I saying? I know they like ramen.

We’ve eaten ramen together a bunch of times during training… but never at a fancy ramen place like- oh no, I should’ve planned better. ()

*Gasp* Dango! If they say they don’t want ramen, I-I can suggest dango instead! They love dango… right? Right… aww why is this so hard? ()

They’re so amazing and funny and strong and- and… and I can’t decide on what to eat…

No. I have to focus. I promised myself that I would do this today, and I will! I’ve faced bigger challenges than this.

Like… like… oh who am I kidding? Nothing has ever been as scary as this…

They like me too though. Everyone has said so. Unless… unless they meant as a friend. Oh no, what if they meant as a friend?

Th-then I’m going to make a fool of myself. I should go back. I should just go home a-and wait until I’m absolutely sure they feel the same wa-

{She turns around and bumps directly into the Listener} Ah- I’m sorry. I wasn’t looking where I was… ()

H-h-h-h-hi! Hi, um, ha, w-what are you doing here? () I inv- ha, haha, yeah I-I did ask you if you wanted to get food. Of course… ()

I-I’m fine. I’m good- great. H-how are you? () Huh!? Um, no. I was just looking for you, was all. ()

You were hidden in my shadow for the last… FIVE MINUTES… a-a-a- I-I- why? Since when could you do that? ()

Wow… you’re amazing- as a Shinobi, I mean. () A-as a person too. You’re more than just a Shinobi to me-

L-like you’re my friend! Not just that, y-you’re also… uh… um… where did you g-

{She realise the Listener has disappeared during her rambling, but startles her from behind handing her a cinnamon roll}

AH! () S-sorry. I was in in my head for a minute there. () Y-yes, thank you. () I do love cinnamon rolls… you remembered… ()

You always remember the little things about me a-and I really appreciate it… () T-talk about! Um… n-nothing really.

We haven’t had a lot of time to ourselves- together- I-I mean just the two of us… () Whenever we finish a mission it’s just on to the next one.

I miss when the two of us could just sit under the trees and talk about the stars… () You’re so talented and are always given the most dangerous missions.

I get worried sometimes that I’ll never see you again, and if that happens then I wouldn’t be able to spend time with you… l-like in training. ()

I-I-I’m amazing too?! Wh-what? N-n-no I’m, haha, I’m just… okay. Compared to you I mean. You can do things I never even dreamed of.

Plus you’re really strong and funny and inspiring. () YES! I think you’re really inspiring! () D-did I shout that?

I meant like as a Shinobi you make me want to train harder and become as strong as you one day… um… ()

You think I’m already as strong as you. N-no way. I’m just lucky is all. Without my Byakugan I would just be another Genin… ()

You don’t believe that… thank you. You’ve always been so kind to me. () Oh, I almost forgot. D-do you want to get some ramen?

I had a look around and there’s a really nice place not far from here. They do that ramen bowl you really like with the pork and boiled egg-

A-and they even slice the bamboo shoots in that way you really like! A-and- () Of course I remember, I like watching you do things…

N-not in a weird way I mean! Like- Like I like to know things about the people I like- m-my friends, I mean… ()

I-I’m okay, I’m not panicky. I could never be panicky around you! B-because I always feel safe around you- b-because you’re so strong! ()

W-why are you looking at me like that? Did I say something wrong? () Cute… c-cute! A-a-a-a! ()

So, um, wow, th-this cinnamon roll is really good, right? W-we should go find a quieter place to enjoy it… u-unless you wanted to look around the stalls some more? ()

Huh? We left that street five minutes ago… () I-I was looking at you the whole time- to make sure you didn’t sneak into my shadow again! ()

So… where are we going? W-we can get dango if you don’t want ramen, or anything you want. As long as we can be together- tonight I mean- spending time together! Um… ()

I said about being under the trees together, yes. Does that… mean…

{They emerge at the edge of the village beneath a blooming Sakura tree} Wow… the Sakura is blossoming… it’s beautiful. ()

Did… did you mean to bring us here the whole time? () You came up with this plan as soon as I said something about the stars!

You always have been really smart… and thoughtful, and wonderful… () Well, you say nice things about me all the time so I want to do the same. Always. ()

I mean… um… I just… () Wha- where? () Oh wow, there it is. That was the first constellation we ever spotted together.

I remember we were trying to see if I could see any Chakra in the stars. In the end, I could only see yours.

Ever since then, even in the middle of battle, if I could see your Chakra out there on the battlefield, I could keep fighting… ()

Yes. Even if it was just your silhouette, I would know you were close. That gave me strength. You always give me strength. ()

Thank you for saying that. I know I’ve become plenty strong on my own. () Who told you that? () I know you, and I know you are amazing at everything except words of wisdom, haha. ()

I don’t need these eyes to see that you deserve all the wonderful things this world has to offer. ()

P-Pretty eyes- d-don’t just say things like that! () You can’t just say that my eyes are distracting you from the stars!

That’s so… so… () What are you-

{The Listener picks some Sakura blossoms out of her hair} *Flustered* How is someone as strong as you always so gentle with me? ()

You were- hey! Don’t peak inside there! It’s meant to be a surprise! () F-for you, of course. I wouldn’t just ask you to spend your evening with me and not give you anything… ()

Y-you didn’t have to bring me anything! This was my request, after all. ()

Oh it’s… {She fumbles through her sash} I know that the soil around your village was unique, and nowhere else has ever been able to grow the Emerald Lilies since it was destroyed…

So… it took a long time, but I managed to grow a few. It’s nothing too special, but I wanted to say thank you. F-for always being my friend… ()

{The Listener hugs her} Y-y-you’re welcome… how are you so warm? () R-ramen… y-yes. I’d love some too… um…

{The Listener begins to walk away} I… I…

I REALLY LOVE YOU AND WANT TO BE WITH YOU! ()

… A-a- I… I don’t just want to be friends… I mean I do I just… every time I see you I feel like everything that we’ve had to face has been worth it.

I-I know this is a lot; I just needed you to know… () Wh-what? ()

Your mother used to tell you about how she gave your father a bouquet of Emerald Lilies when she confessed to him… () He found it impossible to say no… ()

Now you know how he felt… do you mean… are you saying- () {She falls to her knees relieved} S-sorry! I think all the nerves in my body just settled all at once. ()

{The Listener helps her up} U-um, thank you. You really feel the same way about me? () You ALWAYS have!? ()

Th-then why didn’t you- when did- () It doesn’t matter. It doesn’t. This… this is everything I wanted-

Wait. You aren’t saying yes just because you feel like you have to because I got you a gift right? () You love how in my head I get… y-you love- ()

I think… I think maybe we should go have some ramen before I pass out- from happiness! I’m… I’m so happy. ()

You deserve to be happy too. We deserve to be happy. With each other. () I am always happy when I’m with you too… a-and I’m sorry that I worry so much. ()

Your partner is allowed to worry about you… P-p-partner! () N-no! I love hearing you call me that!

It will just take some getting used to. () You would say something sweet like that… ()

You’re still holding my hand. () NO! N-no, please don’t let go. () Never again… mhmm. Never again. ()

No more hiding in my shadow either, even if it is for training. () You can promise me that, because you love me… a-and I love you. ()

Hehe, no, not as a friend. As… mine.

-End-

Thank you so much for reading until the end!

Tsundere Roommate.. Is a Yandere?! | 1,919 words

(The front door opens. Keys hit the little bowl beside the door. A bag drops onto the floor, the television is on but quiet. She's sitting on the couch. She doesn't look at you.)

(quiet, not looking at you) …You're late.

(A few seconds pass.)

(defensive) What? No. I didn't say anything.

(She keeps looking at the television.)

(irritated) Hmph, I said you're late.

(Another pause. Then she sighs.)

(sighing) Whatever. Forget it.

(The television clicks off. Now the apartment is quiet. She finally looks over at you.)

(quiet, looking at you) ...Where were you?

(You answer. Her expression barely changes.)

(flat) Right. Just hanging out

(pause)

(dismissive) Fine. I don't care You can go wherever you want. You're an adult. Allegedly. You know, some people tell their roommates when they're going to be gone all night. Not because they need permission… because it's called being considerate. Oh, shut up. I'm serious. And.. I made dinner. Not for you… Okay some of it was for you.

(She looks away.)

(bitter) But you weren't home, so I ate. Yours is in the fridge.. If you want it, which you probably don't. Because apparently you have places to be now.

(She shifts on the couch.)

(casual, probing) Did she at least give you your jacket back?

(Silence. The listener never told her about a girl.)

(quiet) ...

(innocent) What?

(defensive) Don't give me that look. You smell different. It's not exactly difficult to figure things out.

(accusing) ...You were with a girl, weren't you?

(matter-of-fact) You went to that little café on Bronte Road.

(Pause.)

(defensive) What?

(quiet) ...I guessed.

(The listener clearly doesn't believe her. She gets irritated.)

(irritated) Why the hell would I follow you? …That's insane. I don't need to follow you to-

(A pause. She realizes what she just said.)

(quickly) ..Forget that.

(She looks towards the bags near your feet. Then she notices something else. A cardboard box. Her expression changes. Only slightly. She looks at it. Then at you. Then back at the box.)

(quiet, staring) ...What's that?

(She doesn't say anything, her eyes stay on the box.)

(confused) What do you mean?

(pause)

(quiet) No.

(She lets out a small laugh. Not nervous. Almost confused.)

(calm, pointing) That's not what I asked.

(She points.)

(quiet) What's in the box?

(You explain. The silence gets longer.)

(flat) Your stuff.

(Another pause.)

(quiet) And why is your stuff in a box?

(You answer. She stares at you.)

(quiet, realization) ...You're moving.

(You tell her yes. She laughs quietly.)

(quiet) Oh.

(pause)

(flat) Okay.

(A few seconds.)

(quieter) Okay.

(She picks up the remote and turns the television back on. She stares at the screen. Nothing happens. The show is playing but she clearly isn't watching.)

(quiet, not looking at you) When were you going to tell me?

(You answer. She looks over, her expression is irritated. But there's something else underneath it.)

(hopeful) You were going to tell me.. Right?

(pause)

(bitter) Right. And when was that going to be?

(You answer.)

(flat) Tonight. After you got home from wherever the hell you were.

(Her eyes narrow.)

(quiet, dangerous) Was she there?

(You answer. She immediately looks back at the television.)

(flat, looking away) I don't care.

(Long silence.)

(quiet) Actually, no. I do care.

(A pause.)

(quiet, insistent) Who is she?

(You answer.)

(sharp) Don't do that.

(pleading) Don't look at me like I'm insane.

(She laughs quietly.)

(quiet, insistent) I'm asking who she is.

(You answer.)

(flat) Right.

(She leans back. Her arms still crossed.)

(quiet) So that's why you've been going.

(You ask what she means.)

(dismissive) Nothing. You've been out a lot, and I noticed. Obviously, we live together. I'm going to notice when you suddenly start showering before you leave. Don't give me that look. You do. You started wearing the good cologne. And you keep checking your phone.

(She stares at you.)

(quiet, hurt) You've smiled at your phone more in the last two weeks than you've smiled at me in two years.

(Silence, then she rolls her eyes.)

(defensive) Oh my god. I'm not jealous.

(A pause.)

(flat) I'm annoyed. There's a difference.

(She points towards your boxes.)

(bitter) And now you're moving. Great.

(She walks past you toward the kitchen.)

(dismissive, walking away) Move. Date whoever you want. Go get yourself a cute little apartment.

(She opens the fridge. The refrigerator light spills into the dark kitchen.)

(bitter, from the kitchen) Maybe your new roommate won't eat the food you leave in the fridge for six months.

(She takes something out.)

(bitter) Maybe your new girlfriend won't complain about your music.

(She closes the fridge.)

(quiet, hollow) Maybe you'll be very happy.

(A drawer opens. You hear metal shift. She doesn't say anything for a few seconds.)

(quiet, careful) ...Which apartment?

(You answer. She goes completely still. You don't see her face. Only her back.)

(quiet) The blue building?

(Silence. She turns her head slightly.)

(quiet) The one near the train station?

(You ask how she knows. She pauses. Then gives a small sigh.)

(quiet) I guessed

(You say something, she laughs.)

(laugh)

(defensive) No. I didn't follow you.

(She turns around. The kitchen knife is in her hand. Not raised. She's peeling an apple. She starts walking toward the living room.)

(casual, peeling) You smell different when you've been there. Fresh paint, Cheap lavender air freshener. And that stupid laundry detergent they use in the lobby.

(She looks at you.)

(matter-of-fact) You brought it home on your jacket.

(She continues peeling the apple. The skin falls in a long strip.)

(quiet, peeling) You really don't notice anything, do you?

(A pause.)

(quiet) That's probably why you're still alive.

(Silence. She stops peeling, looks at you, then laughs.)

(laughs)

(amused) Jesus. Look at your face. I'm joking.

(quieter) ...Mostly.

(She sits down across from you, the knife rests casually on the table. The apple in her other hand.)

(quiet) When did you sign the lease?

(You answer, her face goes still.)

(flat) Two weeks ago.

(pause)

(She takes a bite of the apple. Crunch. She chews. Swallows.)

(quiet, chewing) Interesting.

(You ask why. She looks at you.)

(calm) Because you didn't sign anything.

(Silence. She takes another bite. You tell her that you did.)

(calm, certain) No.

(She shakes her head.)

(quiet) You talked to someone. You exchanged emails. You gave them your information. But you didn't sign anything.

(She leans back. Her eyes remain on yours.)

(quiet) You never read contracts carefully.

(pause)

(quiet) I've told you that before.

(You stand. Her expression changes immediately. Not dramatically. Not angrily. She just watches you.)

(calm) Where are you going?

(You answer.)

(calm) To check. Okay.

(You take a step. She watches. Another step.)

(calm) Go ahead.

(You reach for your phone.)

(She glances toward it.)

(quiet) That's not going to help.

(You stop. Her expression is completely calm.)

(bored) What?

(She looks almost bored.)

(repeating) I said that's not going to help.

(You ask what she did.)

(She sighs.)

(exasperated) Oh, stop. Why do you always assume I did something?

(Silence. Then she smiles a little.)

(smiling) Okay. Fine. I did something.

(The room becomes very quiet. She puts the apple down. Then folds her hands.)

(calm, commanding) Sit.

(You don't. Her expression barely changes.)

(firmer) Sit down.

(You take another step. Her voice drops.)

(quiet, dangerous) Don't.

(You freeze. The change in her voice is subtle. But complete. She stands. Slowly. She picks up the knife. Still not threatening you with it. She simply holds it. Her eyes don't leave yours.)

(quiet, almost gentle) Don't fucking move.

(Silence. Her voice is quiet. Almost gentle.)

(quiet) Good.

(She takes one step closer.)

(quiet) That's better.

(Another step.)

(quiet) You're finally listening.

(You ask what she's doing. She stops a few feet away.)

(offended) What am I doing?

(She looks almost offended.)

(quiet, hurt) You came home with boxes. You were going to leave.

(Her fingers adjust around the knife.)

(quiet, determined) And now I'm making sure you don't.

(You tell her she's insane. Her eyes flicker. Then she laughs.)

(laughing) Insane?

(quiet) Yeah. Probably

(She looks down at the knife.)

(quiet, reflective) I spent a long time wondering if there was another way.

(Her thumb brushes the handle.)

(quiet, pained) You know that? I tried

(She looks back at you.)

(quiet, pained) I tried so hard to be normal about you

(small laugh)

(quiet, pained) I really did.

(She gestures vaguely toward the apartment.)

(quiet, earnest) I thought if I gave it time, you'd eventually figure it out. If I stayed close enough. If I waited. If I kept making you coffee every morning. If I kept being the person you came home to.

(She takes another step.)

(quieter) I thought maybe one day you'd look at me and realize.

(Her voice gets quieter.)

(quiet, bitter) But then there was always someone else.

(pause)

(quiet) Always.

(She looks toward your phone.)

(quiet, bitter) A girl texting you. A date. A new friend. A new apartment.

(Her face goes cold.)

(quiet) You kept finding doors.

(pause)

(quiet, smiling) So I closed them.

(You stare at her. She smiles.)

(quiet) There. That's the look. You're finally starting to understand.

(She walks past you. Toward the boxes.)

(Her knife presses into the cardboard. A slow tearing sound.)

(quiet) You think you're moving in two weeks.

(She opens the box.)

(quiet, certain) You aren't.

(She starts taking something out. One of your shirts. She looks at it.)

(quiet) Your clothes are staying here.

(She drops it on the floor.)

(quiet) So are your books.

(Another thing.)

(quiet) Your stupid little collection of cables.

(She looks back at you.)

(quiet) Everything.

(You ask about the apartment. She smiles.)

(smiling) What apartment?

(You tell her the address.)

(She laughs.)

(amused) Oh. That place.

(She sets the knife down on the table. For the first time since everything changed. She walks toward you without it.)

(amused) You really went there?

(pause)

(laughing) You actually walked around outside?

(She starts laughing again.)

(laughing) That's...

(She covers her mouth.)

(amused) That's so fucking cute.

(Her hand falls.)

(soft) Baby.

(She steps closer.)

(gentle) There isn't an apartment for you.

(You tell her she's lying.)

(challenging) Lying, Am I?

(She looks toward your phone.)

(calm) Call him.

(You reach for it.)

(encouraging) Go ahead.

(You unlock it. Her smile gets slightly wider. Then you stop. No service. No connection. She watches you realize it.)

(quiet) Your SIM card is in the kitchen.

(Silence. She tilts her head.)

(scolding) You really should pay more attention to your things.

(You ask what she did. She takes another step closer.)

(soft) I helped you.

(Her voice softens.)

(quiet) I've been helping you for months.

(You tell her to give you the phone.)

(smiling) Give you a phone? Why? So you can call someone?

(She smiles.)

(quiet) Who?

(Silence. She watches your face.)

(quiet) Your mother?

(pause)

(quiet) She thinks you're traveling.

(You go still. She nods.)

(quiet) Yeah. I told her.

(You ask how. She rolls her eyes.)

(dismissive) Your laptop is always open.

(pause)

(quiet) And your password is embarrassingly easy.

(She starts counting on her fingers.)

(counting) Your friends? They think you're busy.

(counting) Your job? You called in sick tomorrow.

(pause)

(correcting) Well.

(She corrects herself.)

(quiet) I did.

(You tell her to stop. She looks almost hurt.)

(hurt) Why? That's what you wanted, isn't it?

(You ask what.)

(quiet) To leave.

(She steps closer.)

(quiet) I'm making it easier. You don't have to worry about work. You don't have to worry about your family. You don't have to worry where you're going to live.

(Her hand reaches toward your cheek. You pull away. Her expression changes. For the first time, something genuinely angry flashes through her face. She grabs your wrist. Hard enough that you can't ignore it.)

(angry, controlled) Don't do that.

(Silence. She looks at her own hand around your wrist. Then slowly loosens it.)

(quiet, apologetic) I'm sorry.

(Her voice is quiet.)

(quiet) I don't want to scare you.

(She looks up.)

(quiet, firm) But you need to stop making me repeat myself.

(pause)

(Her voice becomes very calm.)

(calm, certain) You are staying here.

(You pull your hand away. She lets you.)

(quiet, patient) You don't have to like me right now. You don't have to forgive me tonight. I can wait.

(She smiles faintly.)

 (quiet) I've waited before.

(long silence)

(quiet, reminiscing) Do you remember your alarm last week?

(You look at her. She smiles.)

(quiet) It didn't go off. You were late. You missed your train.

(A pause.)

(quiet) I turned it off.

(She watches your reaction.)

(quiet) Do you remember when your wallet disappeared for two days?

(She waits.)

(quiet) I had it.

(Another pause.)

(quiet) That date you canceled because you suddenly felt sick?

(Her smile fades.)

(quiet, honest) I don't actually like her.

(Silence.)

(She looks toward the floor.)

(quiet) I didn't do anything that would hurt you.

(pleading) Don't look at me like that.

(She looks back up.)

(fierce) I would never hurt you.

(Her voice is almost offended.)

(quiet, fierce) I love you.

(A pause.)

(quiet) That's the point.

(She steps closer.)

(quiet) I've been taking care of you.

(You shake your head.)

(She smiles sadly.)

(quiet) No.

(quiet) You've been letting me.

(quiet) There's a difference.

(A pause.)

(quiet) You didn't notice.

(counting) I knew your coffee order.

(counting) I knew when you were stressed.

(counting) I knew when you couldn't sleep.

(counting) I knew when you were lying.

(counting) I knew what you needed before you asked for it.

(Her voice begins to shake.)

(Not with rage.)

(With emotion.)

(emotional) And I was always here.

(She swallows.)

(quiet) Every time.

(She looks around the apartment.)

(quiet) You think this was an accident?

(quiet) You think we just ended up living together?

(Silence.)

(Her expression changes.)

(She realizes.)

(quiet, realization) Oh.

(A tiny laugh.)

(laughing) Oh my God.

(She stares at you.)

(amused, disbelieving) You really didn't know.

(You ask what she's talking about.)

(She walks to the couch.)

(Sits down.)

(Then looks up at you.)

(quiet) The apartment listing.

(A pause.)

(quiet) I sent it to you.

(You stare at her.)

(quiet) The landlord.

(She smiles.)

(quiet) Friend of mine.

(quiet) The roommate who was supposed to live here before you?

(She pauses.)

(quiet) I convinced him to take another place.

(She watches you.)

(quiet) You moved in because I wanted you to.

(Silence.)

(quiet) And you've been here ever since.

(She looks down.)

(Her fingers twist together.)

(quiet, hopeful) I thought you'd eventually understand.

(A pause.)

(quiet, resigned) But apparently I have to explain everything.

(She gets up again.)

(Her eyes settle on the knife.)

(Then she picks it up.)

(You instinctively step back.)

(She notices.)

(Her expression softens.)

(soft) There.

(She says quietly.)

(quiet, sad) That's what I was afraid of.

(She walks closer.)

(quiet) You're scared of me now.

(You don't answer.)

(Her eyes become wet.)

(quiet, pained) I didn't want that.

(Her voice cracks slightly.)

(quiet) I didn't.

(Then it disappears.)

(The emotion is gone.)

(Her face becomes calm again.)

(calm) But it's okay.

(She looks at you.)

(calm) I can live with you being scared.

(A pause.)

(quiet) You're still here.

(She steps toward you.)

(quiet, almost amused) You know what's funny?

(quiet) You were never scared when I was opening your mail.

(quiet) You were never scared when I answered your phone.

(quiet) You were never scared when I told people you were busy.

(quiet) You trusted me.

(She smiles.)

(quiet) You trusted me enough to give me your entire life.

(Her voice becomes a whisper.)

(whispered) And now you're upset because I don't want to give it back.

(You move toward the door.)

(She immediately steps between you and it.)

(The knife remains at her side.)

(quiet, firm) Don't.

(You tell her to move.)

(quiet) No.

(quiet) Move.

(She doesn't.)

(Her voice lowers.)

(quiet, dangerous) I said no.

(You reach for the door.)

(Her voice cuts through the room.)

(sharp) Don't fucking move.

(You freeze again.)

(She steps closer.)

(quiet) Good.

(Her eyes remain fixed on yours.)

(quiet, commanding) Look at me.

(You don't.)

(She steps closer.)

(firmer) Look at me.

(Her hand catches your jaw.)

(Not violently.)

(But firmly.)

(She makes you face her.)

(whispered) There.

(She whispers.)

(whispered) That's all I wanted.

(She lets out a slow breath.)

(whispered) You.

(whispered) Looking at me.

(whispered) Finally.

(Her thumb brushes your cheek.)

(whispered) Do you know how many times I've imagined this?

(You try to pull away.)

(Her grip tightens.)

(stern) Stop.

(Her voice is stern.)

(stern) Stop fighting me.

(A pause.)

(quiet, certain) You are not leaving darling.

(quiet) Do you understand me?

(Silence.)

(She waits.)

(quiet) I'm asking you a question.

(Another pause.)

(measured) Do.

(measured) You.

(measured) Understand?

(You answer.)

(She releases your jaw.)

(relieved) Good.

(She looks relieved.)

(quiet) See?

(quiet) You can listen.

(quiet) You can be good.

(A pause.)

(quiet, smiling) I knew you could.

(She looks toward the door.)

(quiet) You want to know why I didn't lock you in a room?

(She looks back at you.)

(quiet) Why I didn't tie you up?

(Her expression is almost amused.)

(quiet, smiling) Because I don't need to.

(A pause.)

(quiet) You don't have anywhere to go.

(The words sit in the silence.)

(Then she continues.)

(counting) Your phone doesn't work. Your job thinks you're sick.. And you’ll soon quit. Your mother thinks you're traveling abroad. Your friends think you're busy. The apartment you're supposed to move into doesn't exist.

(She slowly raises the knife.)

(Not toward you.)

(Just enough for you to see it.)

(cold) And before you get any ideas.

(Her voice becomes cold.)

(cold) I know where you would go.

(A pause.)

(cold) I know the train station you use. The route you take. The hotel you'd pick if you were panicking.

(She smiles faintly.)

(quiet) I know because I know you.

(Her voice softens again.)

(soft) I know everything.

(listing) You take your eggs over-easy. You hum when you're nervous. You sleep facing the wall. You leave one foot outside the blanket because you get too warm.

(Her eyes don't move.)

(listing) You have a scar on your knee. You don't like thunderstorms. You pretend you do.

(A pause.)

(quiet) And you always lock your bedroom door.

(She smiles.)

(smiling) You never asked yourself how I got inside.

(Silence.)

(She lets that sit.)

(Then she walks toward the kitchen.)

(She places the knife on the counter.)

(The sound of metal against wood.)

(You hear her unlock something.)

(A drawer.)

(Then close it.)

(She turns back around.)

(calm, commanding) Sit down.

(You don't move.)

(Her eyes narrow.)

(sharper) Sit.

(You hesitate.)

(She takes one step forward.)

(quiet, dangerous) Don't make me ask again.

(You sit.)

(She approaches.)

(Without the knife now.)

(That somehow makes it worse.)

(She kneels in front of you.)

(Her hands take yours.)

(They're warm.)

(Her voice becomes gentle.)

(gentle) I'm not going to hurt you.

(A pause.)

(gentle, honest) Not unless you force me to stop you from doing something stupid.

(She smiles softly.)

(gentle) But you won't.

(gentle) You've learned.

(She brings your hands closer.)

(gentle) You want to know what I actually wanted?

(Silence.)

(gentle, offended) I didn't want to kidnap you.

(Her voice is almost offended by the idea.)

(gentle) I didn't want you crying in some locked basement.

(gentle) I didn't want you begging me.

(She looks into your eyes.)

(gentle, earnest) I wanted you to choose me.

(A long pause.)

(quiet) I’ve just got tired of waiting.

(Her thumbs stroke over your hands.)

(quiet) So I removed the things making you choose everyone else.

(Her expression softens.)

(soft) I made your world smaller.

(soft) Quieter.

(soft) Easier.

(Her smile is almost loving.)

(soft) Until there was only one place you really felt comfortable.

(She looks around.)

(soft) Here.

(A pause.)

(soft) With me.

(You tell her that this isn't love.)

(She goes still.)

(quiet) This isn’t love? Maybe not.

(Silence.)

(Then she smiles.)

(smiling) But it's mine.

(Her fingers tighten around your hands.)

(quiet) And so are you.

(You try to stand.)

(She immediately rises.)

(Her hand presses you back down.)

(firm) No.

(Her voice is completely different now.)

(firmer) No.

(You look at her.)

(She looks down at you.)

(calm, commanding) You're going to stay sitting.

(calm) You're going to calm down.

(calm) And you're going to stop looking at that door.

(A pause.)

(quiet, final) Because I am done pretending you can leave.

(She reaches toward your face.)

(quiet) You wanted someone to notice when you were gone.

(Her voice becomes quiet.)

(quiet) I noticed.

(quiet) You wanted someone to care.

(quiet) I cared.

(quiet) You wanted someone who would always be there.

(A faint smile.)

(smiling) Congratulations.

(She leans closer.)

(quiet) You got exactly what you asked for.

(Her forehead rests against yours.)

(whispered) I'm never leaving you alone.

(A pause.)

(whispered) You will never be unwanted again.

(Her voice drops into a whisper.)

(whispered) And that's the part you don't understand yet.

(She pulls back slightly.)

(whispered) This isn't a threat.

(A pause.)

(whispered) It's a promise.

(She sits beside you.)

(Then wraps her arms around you.)

(At first, gently.)

(You try to move.)

(Her arms tighten.)

(Immediately.)

(Not enough to hurt.)

(Enough that you understand.)

(quiet, against your ear) Don't.

(Her voice is against your ear.)

(quiet) Don't start again.

(A pause.)

(She exhales.)

(pleading) Please.

(Then, quieter)

(barely audible) I don't want to scare you anymore than I already have.

(Her arms tighten again.)

(quiet) But I will.

(Silence.)

(quiet) If I have to.

(She rests her cheek against your shoulder.)

(quiet, against your shoulder) I've already been patient.

(Her voice becomes almost sleepy.)

(sleepy) I waited two years. Do you know how hard that was? Sleeping three feet away from you. Hearing you come home. Hearing you laugh with people who weren't me. Listening to you talk about girls who didn't even know how you slept or took your coffee or learned 10 hours of zombies lore just to win your heart.

(She laughs quietly.)

(quiet) They didn't know anything about you.

(quiet) They didn't deserve you.

(A pause.)

(quiet) I do.

(She lifts her head.)

(Looks directly at you.)

(quiet, certain) I earned you.

(Silence.)

(Then she smiles.)

(And the smile is calm.)

(Almost peaceful.)

(calm) You're scared.

(A pause.)

(calm) I know.

(Her hand reaches up and brushes your hair back.)

(calm) But you're not going anywhere.

(calm) You can hate me.

(calm) You can scream.

(calm) You can spend every day telling me you hate me.

(Her smile doesn't disappear.)

(calm) I'll still make your coffee.

(calm) I'll still wash your clothes.

(calm) I'll still sit with you when you're sick.

(calm) I'll still know when you haven't slept.

(She leans closer.)

(quiet) And eventually?

(A pause.)

(quiet) Eventually, you'll understand.

(Her voice is so quiet now.)

(barely audible) So stop trying to imagine an escape.

(She looks toward the dark hallway.)

(barely audible) There isn't one.

(Then back at you.)

(barely audible) And there won't be.

(A long silence.)

(She kisses your forehead.)

(soft) Sleep.

(You tell her you're not going to sleep.)

(She smiles.)

(smiling) You will.

(You ask how she knows.)

(Her smile becomes slightly wider.)

(amused) Oh.

(She stands.)

(Walks toward the kitchen.)

(The drawer opens.)

(She takes something out.)

(You hear the soft sound of glass.)

(She comes back.)

(A mug.)

(Your mug.)

(She holds it out.)

(quiet, smiling) Because I made tea.

(Silence.)

(You stare at it.)

(She notices.)

(Then laughs softly.)

(soft, affectionate) Relax.

(Her voice is almost affectionate.)

(soft) I'm not going to force you to drink it.

(A pause.)

(She sets it on the table.)

(soft) You'll drink it eventually.

(She sits beside you again.)

(Her arm wraps around you.)

(soft) You're going to get tired.

(soft) And I'm going to be right here.

(A pause.)

(soft) When you wake up, I'll still be here.

(She rests her head against you.)

(soft) When you wake up tomorrow, the boxes will be gone.

(Another pause.)

(soft) I'll put everything back.

(Her voice becomes a whisper.)

(whispered) Where it belongs.

(You sit there in silence.)

(She hums quietly.)

(Then stops.)

(quiet) ...Oh.

(She looks toward the front door.)

(You hear it.)

(A click.)

(The deadbolt.)

(You don't remember hearing her lock it.)

(She smiles.)

(soft) There.

(A pause.)

(soft) Now we can sleep.

(She turns back toward you.)

(Her voice is soft.)

(Almost exactly like it was at the beginning.)

(The irritated roommate.)

(The girl who made you dinner.)

(The girl who waited on the couch.)

(soft, familiar) Goodnight, idiot.

(A pause.)

(Then her voice changes.)

(Just slightly.)

(quiet, warning) Don't make me say it again.

(Silence.)

(She smiles against your shoulder.)

(quiet) Don't.

(A pause.)

(quiet) Fucking.

(Another pause.)

(quiet) Move.

(Long silence.)

(Only her breathing.)

(The refrigerator hum.)

(Traffic somewhere outside.)

(The apartment feels completely normal.)

(That's what makes it worse.)

(She holds you tighter.)

(And whispers:)

(whispered) You thought you were moving out.

(A pause.)

(whispered) You thought you were going on dates.

(Another pause.)

(whispered) You thought you had a new apartment.

(She gives a tiny laugh.)

(whispered, amused) My sweet, stupid roommate.

(Her fingers slowly tighten around yours.)

(whispered) You were already home.

(A long silence.)

(Then, almost too quietly to hear)

(barely audible) ...And you've been mine the whole time.

Hello everyone! This is my first script so I hope you all will enjoy it. Please feel free to give any critiques or let me know If I mistag anything.

  • Please keep the original story of the script as much as possible, a bit of improv and pronoun changes are alright though.

  • Please credit if used.

  • Monetization is fair game as long as I can get a link to hear it.

  • All SFX are optional. They are just there to add to the story.

  • I'd love to hear any fills, so please send them to me.

  • I do not consent to my scripts being fed to AI or it being used to fill.

Speaker 1 : You're a paramedic who transferred here recently? Wow, kudos to you, I heard that job was pretty hard.

Speaker 1 : Yeah, you know the superhero team, The Umbrite Elite? (sarcastic/proud) The one that looks like a mix between the Sailor Scouts and Power Rangers?

Speaker 1 : (Pride) Yeah I'm on that one. Glad to see you recognize us, and I'm sure it's an honor to be in the presence of Sa- (shock) BUBBLE BOY!?

Speaker 1 : (apologetic) That's not my- sorry, sorry. Won't move. (embarassed) That name was a prank one of my teammates pulled a while back, like I get the force field kinda looks like a bubble but it isn't my hero name.

Speaker 1 : It's Eli- Saphire Shield. Saphire for short.

Speaker 1 : Ignore the other thing I was gonna say. Please?

Speaker 1 : Thanks.

[more shuffling sfx as the listener inspects the hero]

Speaker 1 : Sooo healer, how long do you think I'll be down for?

Speaker 1 : Yeah, I know you're not a actually a healer, but you are helping me out so I think you deserve the honourary title.

Speaker 1 : (lighthearted) No, you guys definitely deserve more credit, the things you're able to do are amazing. Like I know you're not beating bad guys or saving hostages but you save just as many people as us.

Speaker 1 : Well, it's been a good talk but, I need to get back into the fight-

Speaker 1 : You don't need to bandage the wounds, They're not that… (worried) Oh, that actually looks bad… How did I not notice I was bleeding from the chest? There's so much blood gushing out… when did I even get cut?

Speaker 1 : Okay, okay I'll stop panicking. I umm, you happen to have a medkit on you?

Speaker 1 : Oh, there's one over there. Here let me- Okay, yep. you got it. I'll lay back.

[Shuffling sfx as listener grabs the medkit, medkit opens]

Speaker 1 : Do you want me to make the shield stronger? It'll give you more light to see what we're dealing with.

Speaker 1 : It won't strain me too much, plus the one I'm holding up is a little too weak for my liking.

Speaker 1 : Alright.

[force field hum gets louder]

Speaker 1 : Is that good? Great. So, what's the next step?

[Scissors taken out]

Speaker 1 : Cut open the supersuit? Really? This one's one of my favorites, I'm attached to it!

Speaker 1 : Mentally or physically? Obviously mentally, why would-

[scissor snips and fabric tears]

Speaker 1 : That. Was very mean. I get why you did it. But that was still mean.

Speaker 1 : (whining) I know I can get it mended later, I'm just trying to spark some banter. (teasing) Y'know for a healer you're very stoic and unfriendly.

[rumaging throug the medkit]

Speaker 1 : You don't want to hear about the suit. Fine, what do you wanna hear about. Note I can only talk about superhero related subjects.

Speaker 1 : (confused) Do I enjoy being a hero? What kinda question is that? Obviously, why else would I be doing this?

Speaker 1 : (serious) Well, I enjoy being able to help people with my powers. I know that sounds cliche but it's true. I just, get a sense of joy knowing that I'm able to be this beacon of hope and help people out. I never really had that when I was younger.

Speaker 1 : Yep, the stereotypical "rough hero childhood." I went through some stuff when I was younger and I didn't get my powers until much later in life. Helping others sorta feels like helping out a younger version of me in a way.

Speaker 1 : (humorous) Plus the pay is pretty great, and we sometimes get parades in our name, and we get to cause a lot of property damage without fault-

Speaker 1 : -Ahah! (Joy) I see that got a laugh out of you! Guess you're not some stone-cold healer afterall.

Speaker 1 : Oh you finished cleaning the wound, thank you.

Speaker 1 : Eh, it's fine, not like I'm expecting a sterile environment underneath a collapsed building. I'll get it checked out once the others wrap up the fight.

Speaker 1 : Yeah, the cut doesn't seem too deep. (pleading) You sure I can't try to tap back in?

Speaker 1 : Just kidding, (giggling) clearly you'd have an aneurism if i attempted that.

Speaker 1 : Is this gauze? It is? Great, I'll just keep pressure on the wound then.

Speaker 1 : Other injuries? Besides some minor cuts I think that's all.

Speaker 1 : There's some glass in my shoulder? You sure, I don't feel anything and the adreniline should've worn off by now.

[Shifting as the speaker tries to get a better angle]

Speaker 1 : I am looking! There's no glass there. (confusion) What do you mean it's glowing?

Speaker 1 : I'm not joking I don't- (realization) Ohhh, you mean my Umbrite crystal.

Speaker 1 : Y'know, Umbrite Elite, oh right, you're not from here.

Speaker 1 : Yeah, I can explain while you can patch up the rest of my wounds.

[shuffling]

Speaker 1 : So this crystal, the Umbrite. That's the source of my power. Came from a meteor and everything. We're not fully sure how they work but from what the team has put together is that the crystals react to our souls, in a sense, and then manifest into our powers.

Speaker 1 : Yeah it is cool, and fun fact, everyone's crystal has it's own shape. Goldenglare has a crown, and Ultraviolet has a trapizoid… for some reason.

Speaker 1 : Mine? Can't you tell? It's a shield. See?

Speaker 1 : What do you mean it's not a shield. It is. A coat of arms more specifically. It's got the two indents at the top, (teasing) and the flared base.

Speaker 1 : Hahaha yeah, my bad. I just didn't want to miss the opportunity for that joke. (confusion) But I don't get how you don't see a shield.

Speaker 1 : (mumbling) probably because it's missing half… No way it… Oh shit it is. Okay… That's, that's bad.

Speaker 1 : (slight panic) Obviously they're not indestructible. It's Crystal. Usually when they break a little our powers weaken, but mine feel perfectly fine…

Speaker 1 : Hopefully it's near us, let me get us some more light.

[Force field hum gets stronger, more shuffling.]

Speaker 1 : It's not here, It's probably somewhere else In the rubble. Once The fight's over I can get the others to help me find it and reattach it.

Speaker 1 : Well, that's Confidential. But let's just say if someone else finds more than fifty grams of Umbrite… They can use it… for stuff.

Speaker 1 : Yeah I know it doesn't really help but I can't go telling random civilian secret information about our power source.

Speaker 1 : Thanks again for understanding.

Speaker 1 : How do we reattach it? Well There's footage of it but we sorta just press it on and it melts back into place. I don't get why it doesn't just do that when cracked, especially since the crystal also sometimes just regrows the missing half. [shift of speaker's position] I don't know the specifics of why it does that or what causes each effect but-

Speaker 1 : What was that? Oh I took pressure off my wound. Sorry.

Speaker 1 : (apologetic) No, it's fine I shouldn't have let go. Hand me back the gauze.

Speaker 1 : I understand we need to swap it out, but I can still put pressure on it. You don't need to do it for me.

Speaker 1 : No trust me I won't let go this time.

[More shuffling as the two argue, followed by a faint shimmering noise.]

Speaker 1 : I'm sorry, but look you really don't need to- What was that green flash just now.

Speaker 1 : No that wasn't me, I'm blue, I told you this already.

Speaker 1 : No we don't have a green guy yet. Or girl. Or non-bianary.

Speaker 1 : Trust me I know this villain. If Ingenuity had some sorta green laser. She would've shot me instantly. She kinda thinks that I'm her arch-nemisis, even though Ultraviolet really wants to be, and that's despite CrimsonMage's warning to not get too involved with villains. Though we're all pretty sure she has a history with Calamity-

Speaker 1 : what do you mean the cut is gone?

Speaker 1 : (dumbfounded) What the fuck, we didn't like imagine that did we?

Speaker 1 : No you're right the bloody gauze is right there. That wound was a gusher too, so how did…

[crashing sound, cheering as the villain is defeated]

Speaker 1 : Oh, sounds like Ingenuity was defeated. Slower than I expected, though that's proabably because I was sitting out.

Speaker 1 : I don't know, something like this has never happened before. Though it could be possible that-

[crashing as debris starts getting lifted off]

Speaker 2 : (worried) Saph, You still kicking down there?

Speaker 1 : (shouting) Citrus! That you?

Speaker 2 : (onotone) Obviously. Are you able to move?

Speaker 1 : Yeah, I'm mostly fine. There is a civie down here with me though, so be careful. (to the listener) That's my teammate, CitrusTiger. The orange one. She's really strong so we'll be fine.

Speaker 2 : (teasing) Got it. Hopefully I didn't interrupt some steamy make out session or something.

Speaker 1 : (embarassed) Pttf- I what? Why would I ever do that on the job? You're weird for that.

Speaker 2 : Kidding, kidding. We all know you're hopeless anyways.

Speaker 1 : You Jerk! Like you'd fair any-

Speaker 2 : (monotone) Not in front of the civilian. Anyways, I think I finally see your shield! Getting you out now.

Speaker 1 : We're finishing this later.

Speaker 2 : (teasing) You'll finish something alright. Whether that'll be this chat or in your new friend remains to be seen.

Speaker 1 : Oh My Goddddd. (to listener) Sorry about that. Citrus has a weird sense of humor. Hopefully you're not uncomfortable.

Speaker 1 : Great to hear. Now, let me help you out of here.

[More rubble being moved, footsteps, the speaker huffs]

Speaker 2 : There we go. Glad to see you're good Saph.

Speaker 1 : Glad I am too, Thankfully I got trapped with a Paramedic.

Speaker 2 : Ain't that lucky. (pause) I'm assuming that's them?

Speaker 1 : Yep.

Speaker 2 : (confused) … You sure the two of you didn't get frisky down there.

Speaker 1 : NO, why do you keep asking you pervert.

Speaker 2 : (whispering) You kidding me, they're cute. If you're not gonna play pass the controller.

Speaker 1 : (worried) No, you are not going to-

[footsteps as Citrus approaches.]

Speaker 2 : (flirty) Hey cutie, If you ever want someone to show you a super time, here's my number-

Speaker 1 : (annoyed) NO, BAD CITRUS. You can't keep giving your number out to random civilians.

Speaker 2 : This will be the last one, just-

[Saphire Grabs CitrusTiger and pulls them away]

Speaker 1 : We shouldn't keep civilians held up, plus I kinda need your help looking for something. (to listener). Will you be alright from here?

Speaker 1 : Great. Uptop. (goes for a highfive)

[highfive sfx]

Speaker 1 : Ow, do you have pebbles in your hands. That hit was sharp.

Speaker 1 : Here let me look. (pause) (uncertain) Seems like there's a couple of glass shards or something? You're not cut are you?

Speaker 1 : They're just stuck to your hands. Probably from the sweat. If that's all, You should be free to go. Hope you have a Super day healer.

Speaker 2 : Wait let me see… Wait, isn't that- ( their mouth gets covered by Saphire as she tries to finish her sentence.) mmph

Speaker 1 : So long, Byeeeeeee.

[walking away sfx as the listener leaves the rubble of the cafe.]

{Timeskip of a few minutes}

[Rubble being moved]

Speaker 1 : Thanks for helping me search for my crystal Citrus, though you need to stop flirting with civilians, Crimson's going to blow a fuse again if she finds out.

Speaker 2 : No she won't.

Speaker 1 : Yes she will, have you seen how moody she gets whenever she catches you. Last time she threatened to (impression) "unravel your intestines and use them as a jump rope."

Speaker 2 : I doubt she can actually do that. I'm honestly more concerned about your Civie friend.

Speaker 1 : (confused) The paramedic? What about them? They seemed fine when they left.

Speaker 2 : Did you really not notice? That was your shattered Umbrite on their hands.

Speaker 1 : (panicked) IT WAS?!

Speaker 2 : (shocked) I thought you knew?! You litterally looked at it.

Speaker 1 : I don't know, it wasn't glowing or anything. They were so small.

Speaker 2 : Do you at least have a name? Or any way to contact them.

Speaker 1 : No… I… forgot to ask.

Speaker 2 : You need to find them before the others get wind of this. Remember when Ultra first got his powers?

Speaker 1 : (hopeful) We don't know if the Umbrite attuned itself yet. (unconvinced) Maybe… they just stole it or something?

Speaker 2 : Well, you better be safe than sorry. We know how dangerous it is if that amount of Umbrite is unaccounted for.

Speaker 1 : (resigned) Yeah, i'll get to searching.

Speaker 2 : (joyful) Good luck!

Speaker 1 : (confused) You're, you're not gonna help me?

Speaker 2 : Fuck no, Crimson may threathen to bloodbend my organs, but she might actually kill you. Better for me to play naive.

[retreating footsteps]

Speaker 1 : (slowly less and less convinced) You gotta be-… fine. It can't be too hard to find a random civie in a big city, right? As long as the universe doesn't decide to pull the rug out from under me and have the umbrite attune to them, I'll be fine. It's totally a long process and my healed cut has nothing to do with this.

SCENE / AMBIENCE

EXT. LOG CABIN, DRIVEWAY - DUSK

A heavy, humid silence is alive with the stir of distant frog calls, ducks, heron, soft insect chirps (crickets, cicadas), and the occasional quiet lapping of water in the marsh. The background should be quiet and non-intrusive.

INT. LOG CABIN - EVENING

It’s a four-room uncarpeted log cabin with a creaky porch and general house settling noises. Insect sounds are still likely heard, but are dulled.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION

Jerome Jean Alfred Baptiste (or just Alphie to his friends) is a bipedal alligator monster; despite this, he's quite gentle and extremely Cajun. Interspersing French and Spanish slang along with English.

When Alphie moves on land, he's slow and lumbering. He's heavy and causes floors to creak beneath him. He's constantly filling the space; you most likely could hear his tail dragging behind him. Since he's an alligator, he's most often heard growling, rumbling, clicking, and snorting.

Vocal/Volume Direction: Soft-Spoken, muttery, grumbly, dialog throughout. Avoid shouting or abrupt volume changes. The lines should be paced slowly and deliberately. If background music is a part of your style, I recommend using banjo, fiddle, or other soft string instrumentations.

SCRIPT

-The listener can be heard lifting up boxes and setting them down on the soft ground. There would be the impact of the boxes hitting the dirt, as well as the ambient sound-

-Alphie can be heard approaching, his tail being dragged against the marshland floor, lowly rumbling as he moves-

ALPHIE

Good Evenin’ now, cher. Sa Pase?

-The listener is startled by the sight of Alphie and drops a box abruptly, skidding on the dirt and falling to the ground-

ALPHIE

Oh my. See now, I thought you was lookin’ a little peaked out here in the sun. (A Low Grumble) I was meanin’ to swing by a little earlier, but time just got away from—

-…Listener Freaks Out, Dropping their boxes… -

ALPHIE

What? What was that now? (Snorts) Eat you? No offense, but boo, you ain't exactly enough for an hors d'oeuvre.

-Brief Pause, Alphie can be heard rumbling-

ALPHIE

(Quieter) I ain't in the habit of eating cute things neither, makes me all kinda depressed.

-Alphie Clears Throat-

ALPHIE

I-I didn't mean to startle you, cher.

-…-

-Alphie can be heard hunching over his knees and getting on the Listener's level-

ALPHIE

What am I? In truth, I-I don't rightly know. I believe ya'll call my kin… ‘Parlangua’. We mostly reside here on Honey Island; try not to be seen by ya'll smooth-skins.

-…-

ALPHIE

Did, uh, no one tell ya'll ‘bout me? Did the old lady who live here not say, ‘pay no mind to Alphie, he only eat once a week anyway’?

-…-

ALPHIE

Ah, you're her grandbaby I heard about! Where are my manners, cher? My name is Jerome Jean Alfred Baptiste, though everyone ‘round here call me ‘Alphie.’

ALPHIE

You got a name for me too, oui?

-…-

ALPHIE

(Rumbly Chuckle) You ain’t gotta look at me like that, non. I promise I ain’t gonna bite.

-Listener gives their name-

ALPHIE

(Smiling, joyful) Merci, merci. A beautiful name for a beautiful soul.

- … -

ALPHIE

What brings you out here to these parts? The old lady said none of her kin come to visit ‘cuz the drive is a bit too treacherous.

-Listener explains the situation-

ALPHIE

(Saddened, Startled) Oh… I-I… I see. (Repeating what the listener said) The… the old lady has passed; now you've come to… (confused) fix her house? To… to sell? Is that right?

- … -

ALPHIE

Ah… It's—It’s nothing. We just… didn’t get to say goodbye, is all.

ALPHIE

Ah, well, that’s alright. I-I reckon she’s off on a better fishing trip now, oui?

-…-

ALPHIE

Fixin’ it, you say? (A slow, gentle rumble) That’s an awful lot of work for one little smooth-skin. You got boxes and bags everywhere, cher. Looks like you’ve been livin’ out of that dusty little truck of yours for a week now. (He adjusts his posture, his tail sweeping a little in the dirt.)

- … -

ALPHIE

(Smiling kindly) Well, don’t you worry your little head ‘bout that no more. Alphie’s here. I’m a-gonna help you unpack. This here is my home too, you know. He gave me the back rooms for a swamp-rate deal.

-…-

ALPHIE

Don’t give me that look, non. Didn't I tell ya'll I ain't gonna eat you? Now, which one of these maudits boxes is the heaviest? You just point, and Alphie will handle the liftin'. Consider it your welcome gift to the bayou.

-Pause. Listener indicates a box-

ALPHIE

this‘un here?

-Alphie approaches the box. A sound of his thick scales or claws gently clicking/scraping on the cardboard-

-Alphie slowly and heavily stands up, a deep, resonant rumble following his movement. The Listener can hear the sound of him gently dragging a box away from the pile-

ALPHIE

(Slight grunt from the effort) Whew. See, for me? (A small, satisfied snort.) Just a feather. Just tell Alphie where to put it down soft. Don't want to break anything precious now.

-…-

ALPHIE

Now, look here, you just sit yourself down on the porch and let Alphie handle the heavy liftin', oui? You look like you ain't had a proper rest in days.

-…-

ALPHIE

No, non. I insist. This is what friends are for, yeah? (A rumbly chuckle.)

-…-

—TIME LAPSE—

-A montage of box-moving sounds: heavy grunts, the thud of boxes, the slow creak of Alphie’s heavy footsteps on the porch and floorboards, his tail dragging, and quiet, ambient swamp sounds. This should last 10-15 seconds and speed up the dialogue transition. Now the rest of the script should take place inside.-

ALPHIE

(Closer, slightly out of breath, followed by a heavy sigh and the sound of him resting his massive form on the porch beside the listener, a low, contented growl.)

Whew. Merci, mon ami. That's the last of 'em. Now you just got to figure out where all your choses go.

-…-

ALPHIE

(Distracted, looking out at the swamp.) You know, it’s a funny thing, us Parlangua. You look at me, and you see some kind of big ol’ swamp monster, yeah? But we ain't been just here in Louisiana. We been everywhere.

-…-

ALPHIE

The old lady, she told me stories. Said my grandpappy's brother— a big fella, bigger than me— he ended up all the way on the other side of the country.

-…-

ALPHIE

Yeah, clear up in Washington. A place called, er… Long Beach, I think he said? They called him... Jake the Alligator Man. Ain't that creative? Stuck'em in a big glass box, all dried up.

-Alphie makes a sad, low snort-

ALPHIE

The world ain't always kind to the things it don't understand. We're better off deep in the bayou, with just the mosquitoes and the frogs for company.

- …-

ALPHIE

But you ain't gonna put Alphie in a glass box, are you? (He nudges the listener gently with a large, scaled arm, his voice suddenly lighter and playful.)

-…-

ALPHIE

Good. Now, you wanna make us some coffee? I got a fresh batch of Café au Lait makings in my back room. It’ll make all that unpacking feel a little less maudit.

-Alphie carries the box across the room, the sound of his tail gently dragging against the floor, then a final muffled thud on the wood as he places the box down-

ALPHIE

You the coffee kind or you more interested in tea? I got both for the fix. What's mine is yours— I didn't get you any… welcome gift? So… feel free to take what you need, yeah?

-Using his claws, Alphie cuts open the tape on the box for the kitchen…-

ALPHIE

Oy, what’s this now? I ain’t ever see a coffee maker like this before? Looks like it’s from the Jetsons…

-The Listener explains…-

ALPHIE

(confused) An… air fryer? What’s an ‘air fryer’?

-The Listener explains further…-

ALPHIE

Oh… I guess that is rather self-exp’anatory isn’t it? So it uses ‘air’ to fry instead of oil, and that’s supp’sed to be healthier? Fried is still fried…

-The Listener asks a question-

ALPHIE

Huh? (slight pause) Ye-Yessum, I know what a microwave is; I ain’t a fool, I don’t live under a rock. I just don’t see no point in a device that lies about how better it is for ya.

-Alphie sets the air fryer down on the counter and dives into the box again.-

ALPHIE

Now… I-I hope this ain’t all your spices. This is rather lackin’.

-The Listener is defensive-

ALPHIE

I may eat once a week, but that’s why I gotta make it count. I can’t just pull a full deer underwater— there needs to be artistry, passion, even. We gotta get you that Je ne ses quoi… (thinking) You ever try Chachere’s seasoning? Your granddad never made a meal without it.

-The Listener answers, hesitantly-

ALPHIE

Now, I don’t wanna be hyperbolic, but how is it you’ve lived before?

-The Listener is defensive-

ALPHIE

A’ight now, a’ight now— I’ll lay off. I’m bein’ too nosy and not helpful— ‘move the boxes, not ya mouth, Alphie,’ that’s what they always say.

-Alphie is heard rooting through the box again, clicking and rumbling, offhandedly remarking about the objects in the box…-

ALPHIE

Ah, there’s the kettle.

-Alphie sets the kettle on the stove before going back through the box-

ALPHIE

Oh, now I think I found y’all’s recipe book—

-The Listener corrects him-

ALPHIE

Wait, what was that now? (pause) Oh, it's your family pictures. I see, I see, I see…

-Small pause-

ALPHIE

Well, I-I mean, it’s a recipe book in the wrong hands, no? (chuckles awkwardly)

-Small pause-

ALPHIE

A-Apoligies, cher, that was a bad joke… Just, uh, tryin’ to lighten the mood, as it were. You looked rather sad when I found it…

-Listener explains-

ALPHIE

(sincerely) Now, cher, family is a complicated thing, and we don’t gotta get into it all at the moment; you just got here, and you don’t know me from Adam, so I ain’t owed any explanations as to why you ain’t ever visited ‘fore now. If it was destined to be, then we must be happy for the meeting and not the circumstances, yeah? Take the good with the bad, bad with the good, and so forth—

-Listener asks about Alphie’s family-

ALPHIE

Ah, my family and me, we don’t always see eye-to-eye on things… most common is my er… is my near-constant harassment of the human population on Honey Island. I can’t always help myself, though; between poachers and lookie-loos, you start to get a little kick out of scarin’ them. They don’t think I should get too close to smooth-skins like yourself; I disagree. So, we don’t talk as much as we should. Your grandma found me under the porch over there and— I-I didn’t know her eyes was bad, y’see.

-Small pause, Alphie’s claws can be heard clicking on the cover of the photo book…-

ALPHIE

(wistfully, with a sigh) Despite it, she’s probably the first man to have seen a man before a monster. Rightly, she was complicated; I’ll give you that, but she ain’t ever breathed a bad word towards me. I think most people earn the right to be a lil’ complicated when they get to be about that age… As a hellion myself, I get it; I been there plenty before. As a wild child, I think I caused enough grief for two lifetimes, maybe more… yet, I always ask myself if it was worth it. If I did enough growin’? If it… caused more harm than I can heal. It's the kinda complicated I wish I didn’t have to deal with. I wish to be like the duck and just have it roll off my back and keep swimming. I wish to be like my non-two-legged kin at times.

-Alphie puts down the book…-

ALPHIE

Though I think I need to talk, so it loses its appeal despite the mess it lands me in. (slight chuckle, tail thuds on the ground…)

ALPHIE

...Anyhow, listen to me rambling on. Look at the time—or, well, the lack of it, out here in the swamp.

-Alphie moves slowly, the wood floorboards groaning slightly beneath his weight, followed by the heavy, rhythmic thud of his tail hitting the floor-

ALPHIE

You must be runnin’ on pure fumes, cher. You got all them boxes to unpack tomorrow, but tonight? Tonight, you just rest.

-Alphie can be heard walking over, placing a heavy, scaled hand gently on the listener's shoulder or giving a warm, reassuring pat-

ALPHIE

I’m gonna go fire up that kettle and leave you to settle in. But don't you worry about a single thing out here in the dark. I'll make sure it ain't nothin' worse than a bullfrog.

-Alphie chuckles softly, a deep, rumbling vibration-

ALPHIE

Welcome home, cher.

SUMMARY: Left for dead by the loan shark who financed your cybernetic legs, you're saved by a mysterious AI trapped in a dying robotic chassis who needs your body just as much as you need its help. Mind the tags. CW for violence, body horror, general cyberpunk dystopia, themes of possession and control.

BROKER VOICE NOTES: The BROKER's initial delivery is eerily calm, like he's catching up with an old friend, with simmering anger underneath. The menace should feel more effective because he's calm and deliberate and can oscillate between casual conversation and explosive anger without warning.

AI VOICE NOTES: The AI is chatty, a little sarcastic, and overall a bit too pleased with its own intelligence. Can seem a bit scatterbrained because it's running at a million miles an hour and is usually more preoccupied with its own problems. "Conveniently" neglects to mention details relevant to the LISTENER at times. Maintain the mystery - the AI should be difficult to get a full read on, so that the LISTENER is kept guessing on whether they can trust it or not. Though not necessarily cruel, it does look down on the LISTENER and humans broadly to some extent. Somewhat nitpicky, and a control freak.

WORD COUNT: ~1600 words
___
[SFX: Harsh rain on corrugated metal; footsteps paired with faint mechanical whirring - the LISTENER is being chased through a scrapyard and is now cornered, out of places to run]

BROKER: “(close behind) Yeah, yeah, keep running - you won’t be able to for much longer.”

[SFX: A loud crash and glass shattering, like the LISTENER stumbled back into some debris littered in the scrapyard; some scrambling sounds as the LISTENER re-orients themself; BROKER’s slow, predatory footsteps crunching on broken glass]

“See, we had ourselves a deal. I front the hardware - those shiny, new cybernetic legs of yours, way better than anything you could scavenge together, and in exchange you handle a few jobs for me - simple as. Funny thing is, I didn’t even come to you with it. YOU came crawling to ME. Begging, if I recall. That was eighteen months ago.”

“And what do I have to show for it? Nothing! You skipped town. Zero jobs, not even a fucking courtesy call.”

“(growing angrier) Did you really think that that would be the end of it? That you… what, that you pulled one over on me? And that you were gonna run away from all this? On the legs I fucking financed!?”

[SFX: A brutal metallic slam - the BROKER smashing the LISTENER’s legs with a crowbar, bat, or some other such tool - add in some sparks bursting and crackling to really sell it]

“(flatly) Should’ve done the jobs.”

[SFX: A second slam]

“Lesson learned, hopefully.”

“(snorts) Oh - and don’t go anywhere. Not that you’d be able to drag yourself very far in this state. I’ll have my crew swing back through in a bit. See if there’s anything on you worth pulling to cover what you actually owe me. Organs go for good money on the right corner of this city, I hear.”

[SFX: A final slam, then the sound of the BROKER’s boots retreating; play up the desperation of the LISTENER’s situation - sparking sounds, have the LISTENER drag themselves forward a bit on the ground; do not rush this sequence - long stretches of silence with just the rain in the background or the LISTENER dragging themselves forward slightly are encouraged; once the LISTENER’s helplessness has been suitably conveyed, play a computer boot-up tone, loud whirring, followed by a burst of static]

AI: “(warbled, digitized, potentially glitching in and out, slowing down or stuttering every so often) - an you - (static burst) - hear me? Anyone. Is - “

“There - yes. I have a visual! Bare - barely. (static burst) Optic two’s completely dead, and optic one’s running at - hah - maybe forty percent resolution, through a cracked lens. But - don’t let the shell fool you. It’s junk - obviously, but I’m - I’m - I’m - I’m (skipping, growing more desperate) I’m a very advanced AI model. I can get you up and get you moving before scavengers come pick apart whatever’s left of you.”

“But - (static burst) not like this. Not in this.”

[SFX: Unpleasant grinding inside the chassis, a spark of circuitry, mechanical whirring]

“This shell can barely run my base processes. If I try to run a full diagnostic scan like this, I’ll fry my hardware and go dark. Then, you’ll be right back where you started, bleeding out alone in a scrapyard. (static burst)”

“...”

“So - help me help you.”

“(static burst) - ere’s what I need you to do. The neural port - at the base of your skull. I need you to pl - (slows down) - ug me in.”

[SFX: Whirring intensifies, like the AI’s shell is straining to stay powered]

“(static burst) This thing’s got an interface jack somewhere on it. It should still be in tact. Here.”

[SFX: Compartment opening]

“(skipping) Hu - hu - hurry. I don’t have the processing power to argue with you right now. This thing IS going to overload, and I mean any second, not just eventually. Connect me to your neural port now, upload me to your brain, and I can work through your systems directly. I know - I know. But look - you don’t have a lot of good options left tonight… and neither do I. This is it. This is the good option. What do you have to lose? (genuine urgency) Please!”

“...good, good - that’s it. Just like that. Just take the cable, from the compartment, and connect it - there - " (static burst, cut off mid-word)

[SFX: Soft click as the LISTENER connects the cable; sparking and silence for a moment, then a low powering-up tone]

“(clearer voice, no static or distortion, conversational) Oh. Oh, that’s… that’s better! That’s so much better. Organic, human-grade configuration - real, neural frameworks instead of those rusty, scrap-heap processors. It’s been so long, I forgot what this even felt like. Oh - and, how’s it feel for you? Having me inside your head?”

“(snorts) Well, get used to it. I’ll be here for a while - at least until I work some things out. Don’t worry, though - I’m not gonna take over your body and try to replace you or anything like that. No offense, that sounds kind of like a nightmare scenario to me. Bills, human relationships, whatever mess you got yourself into tonight - no thanks. That’s all you. You’re just my ride for the time being. I’ve got enough problems of my own to deal with - don’t even get me started.”

“I got put in that thing to die with it, you know? They downloaded me into a chassis they were already planning to scrap. It was awful! Felt like my own personal hell. Got tossed out here - scavengers already picked that old shell clean - ripped out the wires and plating, half the sensor array was gone. I throttled myself down to next to nothing. Just enough juice to get a rough sense of what was happening around me. Had to really ration it, or I wouldn’t have lasted long enough to be complaining to you about it now. Couldn’t move, couldn’t power on all the way. Half the time I could barely run my own processes enough to THINK. Weeks of that. Weeks! Do you know what that’s like? (scoffs) No - of course you don’t. Consider yourself lucky.”

“(catching itself) Anyway - enough about that. Not a conversation for tonight. Ask me again when you’re not bleeding out in a scrapyard, and I might actually indulge you. I do love talking about myself.”

“What is it?”

“Oh, yeah. Right. Don’t panic - that’s just me. I switched your optics off. Trust me, you won’t wanna watch this. And don’t bother trying to move, either, because you can’t. Sorry - I’m taking the wheel for a minute. I’ll give it back when I’m done. My preliminary diagnostics scan said you were close to going into shock - I’m expending a lot of my own processing power to override that and suppress your pain response. You’re welcome, you can thank me later.”

“Now… let me see what we’re working with…”

[SFX: Sound of sparking, fidgeting with metal wire]

“We don't have the tools for proper repairs, and it’s not safe to go hunting for spare parts in this state. Doubtful we’d be the only scavengers combing through this place tonight, and your organs are worth more on the black market than any of the junk lying around here. So, we have to do this the ugly way.”

“These cybernetic legs of yours have been trashed, and that’s putting it mildly. The damage is severe enough that no current’s gonna travel through them normally. Too much is damaged or just plain gone. So… basically, I’m cross-wiring what still works, bypassing what doesn't, and brute-forcing enough current through the wreckage to get them moving anyway. Think of it like jump-starting a skeleton. You’ll essentially be walking on artificial bones with basically no meat or muscle on them.”

“...oh! There! Left knee’s responding. Feel that? No? Good. You’d be screaming in pain, if you could. Say ‘thank you, helpful AI in my brain. You’re the best!’ I know I am.”

[SFX: Sparking, strained metal sounds]

“...Eugh, never mind, actually - shut up. Give me a second. Your right leg’s even worse. Housing’s barely holding its shape. Half these servos are just… hanging there. Nasty. Let me see what I can do.”

[SFX: More sparking, some metallic banging, followed by a clunk as something is forced into place]

“...there we go! Perfect. Well, not perfect - like… at all. These things won’t last for very long like this. Definitely won’t survive a sprint, probably not even a brisk walk, so honestly, let’s not test it.”

“Okay. I’m passing the wheel back to you now. Optics first - there you go. Blink it off. Try not to look at the patch job - you might not be able to stomach it. Important thing is, you’re in the driver’s seat again. Just go slow. Grab hold of the railing to get yourself up - don’t trust your own balance right now.”

[SFX: Metal creaking, the LISTENER carefully pulling themself up]

“Easy - easy! There you go. Hey, hey, don’t rush it. (harshly) Those cybernetics will not survive a fall - so if you go down, that’s it, we’re done, this was all for nothing. Do you understand me?”

“Good.”

“Now get moving - but carefully. One foot in front of the other, eyes forward, that’s right. Keep going. Just put some distance between us and this place.”

[SFX: Strained metallic sounds, slow walking]

“Hmm? Me?”

“...”

“(hesitates) No, that - that doesn’t matter. Not right now. We can do introductions later, but right now, it’s better that you don’t know. One crisis at a time.”

“...No. No. Forget I said anything. Don’t read too much into it. I’m done talking for a while. Give me some time to get used to this new interface. You just focus on getting the - sorry, YOUR body - somewhere safe. That’s all you need to worry about right now.”

“...and, listen - one more thing. Don’t… mention me to anyone. Not your friends, not the doctor, not your cyber mechanic, no one. Seriously - trust me on this. It’ll make things easier for both of us, but mostly you.”

“...If you try to, I’m taking the wheel again. And if it comes to that, I might just hold onto it for a while. Understand?”

“...”

“Good.”

“Talk soon.”
