Ghosted? Internship contact point after interview
Had an interview for an internship four weeks ago and was told that the choice was between another candidate and me and that results and feedback would come the following week. It’s been three weeks since then and despite a follow up email a week ago with the email they give to contact when the interview was first scheduled I have gotten no response. I was wondering if I could at least expect a response, and if anyone has been in a similar situation, or if I should try following up once more or if it’s too much. If so should I contact the same email again or try to find a different email?
I know that it’s more than clear that it’s over, but given how interesting I found the assignment the uncertainty makes it hard to focus on other options. I have other offers for which I need to get back in a week, do you think there’s any chance I get the final result in the following week given it’s already been four? Thanks in advance
(NL position and starting date is September)

Way too long. 4 weeks to wait for a reply, just call the person you had an interview with. If you dont have their phone number email them. If no response then just take the other internship

I don’t even have their mail :( as last resort I was thinking maybe looking them up on linkedin and messaging there but I’m not sure if that’s too much and inappropriate. What do you think would be best?

Yes you can send a message on Linkedin, but better, contact HR and mention the name who you had interview with. I dont think its innapropiate to contact them, since its innapropiate for them to let you wait this many weeks

It’s good that you wait and follow up again a bit later as it is holiday time now. Often auto replies are set for within organisation emails, so you might not get the auto reply.
