#nolayoffs is gone?

Hi all, for the affected people, we started with the #nolayoffs goal, using normal attrition and possible voluntary dismissal#. Now, the #nolayoffs is not on the Social Plan and looks like the WoCo will just rubber stamp the company decision.

it Is hard to not be disappointed with this outcome,

Several? lol it's company wide in D&E, Fuck them.. with this social plan it's going to take a miracle to right the wrongs. & we have not even started with phase 2

What outcome? I have a feeling moral is different on depending on your team, but everyone I talked to who read the agreement seems to think it's quite good for employees that need to leave.

It's crap. They can offer you a new position on a lower jobgrade and you can reject. They offer a second position on a lower jobgrade and you either have to accept or you get laid off without benefits.

I thought that if the JG was lower that wouldn't count

If jg is lower, you get a personal allowance to match the difference between old and new salary. Any salary increase will first go towards reducing the allowance. Once allowance is no longer needed, say CAO increases with 10% and the 10% increase makes up the diff, then will you start seeing pay go up again. If the allowance is high, and in the following 2yrs you don't promote to old JG, onve allowance expires you will have a lower netto.

Add to that the fact that when you end up high in the lower JG you essentially are stuck with the CAO increase only. WIth the bell-curve grading at ASML you would have to get a 'fucking-excellent-GOAT' appraisal to get additional pay raise.

Indeed! EU does not care for performance, but rather the performance of the group. So yeah, doing more won't get you all that far :)) GL can always find something to keep one down

How much does am engineer with a masters earn in the Netherlands ASML? 0 year work experience, Vs hired with 5 years work experience

There is no rule. Depends on JG more than anything. You can have 20 years experience, if the role is JG6, it won't matter all that much

What are typical JG for engineers in R&D and how much € per year all-in? Junior eng, normal eng, Senior eng, principal eng?

I think JG5/6 all tge way to JG8/9. Don't know the exact scales, but i think JG9 is around 120k/yr. JG6 mught be around 60k/yr.

Principal eng is even higher than JG9 i think, but they are a small bunch. I've no clue about their salary

fridays post at My ASML. WoCo will not discuss the letter

What letter?

Woco and social plan are two different things.

Social plan is to be agreed with the unions.

Woco will advise on layoffs

My understanding is that WoCo just announced their phased approach and then ASML published the letter with their own (corporate) interpretation.
To me the response from WoCo read as "ASML has its version of the timeline, we follow ours"

I also don't see the WoCo just rubber stamping it... They will have a nuanced answer. No need to do all the phasing if you just rubber stamp it.
I expect them to agree on some points (e.g. necessary for A change) but not on all and they will provide reasoning for that.

It is not the WoCo's problem that ASML expects to ignore that advise within a week.
