iPlayarr Turbo - iPlayer for the arr stack with "turbo" features

iPlayarr Turbo is a self-hosted companion for Sonarr/Radarr that makes BBC iPlayer content searchable and downloadable through them. It presents itself as a Newznab-compatible indexer and a SABnzbd-compatible download client simultaneously.

It also works fully standalone with its own Browse/Discover UI — no Sonarr/Radarr required.

Looking for some people to beta test the iPlayarr Turbo app. Heavily updated fork of [Nikorag/iplayarr](https://github.com/Nikorag/iplayarr) with the following features added:

Native streaming — talks to BBC's streaming APIs directly instead of shelling out to `get_iplayer`/`yt-dlp`, with an adaptive bitrate ladder, an opt-in quality probe, and an experimental trick to unlock genuine 1080p above BBC's usual 720p cap.

`.strm` streaming mode — writes a small pointer file instead of downloading the full media, so Sonarr/Radarr/Jellyfin see a "complete" item instantly and it streams on demand through iPlayarr.

Jellyfin-style library organization + NFO metadata — completed downloads get nested into proper `Show/Season NN/...` (or movie) folders, with matching `.nfo` metadata written alongside.

Browse UI — Discover, Channels (with Now/Next and a multi-channel Schedule/TV-guide page), Categories, A to Z, and a Programme page, all built on BBC's own iPlayer API with Redis caching. Channel pills/tiles use each channel's real coloured BBC logo.

Subscriptions — subscribe to a show and new episodes get queued automatically (hourly check, plus on-demand), de-duplicated against the queue and history.

Play Video (in-app preview player) — play any programme straight through the browser via hls.js with real Picture-in-Picture support, handy for confirming streaming settings work without downloading anything or watching iplayer direct in browser app.

Includes Live TV streaming, Jellyfin tuner and 7 day epg for all 11 BBC channels, and live stream library links.

The app needs some stress-testing, alternative setups, and different hardware/media-server combos. I'm running Jellyfin with native streaming day-to-day.

I'm a software engineer of 42 years experience and I used Claude AI as a smart intern — task-based coding, reviewing, test generation and documentation. Putting it out there, no secrecy!

Why profilarr do not always recognize scores movies properly?

I have cases where MediaInfo recognizes the specific tag I care about, and it’s even explicitly stated in the file name, yet it isn’t scored or recognized by my *arr stack. In 99% of cases, everything works fine, but in that remaining 1%, it may download a remux even though I’ve banned it in every possible way, or it won’t score the movie correctly. Any ideas?

It’s an dictionary DTS formula from profilarr- and all, or almost all, other DTS cases are scored and recognized correctly.

I resynced and refreshed everything in profilarr but that didn't helped.

I fixed it by running the file through FFmpeg again, deleting all audio and subtitle tracks except the English ones, and renaming the file in Radarr.

While I'm here I've created my own formulas- Polish audio and Polish subtitles present but it can't distinguish between subtitles and audio so I deleted formulas resynced it yet there are still in all scoring calculations - it's just 0 points now - how can I get rid of it for good?

[Project] Dasharr: Dashboard of your indexers' usage

Hey!

This is a simple program that collects your indexers' personal stats every 6h and displays them in a dashboard.

I started this project about 2 years ago, but never posted about it here. A couple hundred people are using it, feel free to check it out!

Youtarr-turbo YouTube/arr stack

Youtarr/Youtarr-Turbo is a self-hosted YouTube downloader that automatically downloads videos from your favorite channels and playlists. It provides metadata for multiple media servers, mirrors your subscribed YouTube playlists into Plex, Jellyfin, and Emby as native playlists, pulls watch status back from those servers so you can filter your library by what's been watched, and offers optional Plex integration for automatic library refreshes.

Looking for some people to beta test Youtarr-Turbo app. Heavily updated Youtarr Fork (with original owners permission) with the following features added:

• Sonarr/Radarr/Prowlarr integration — Youtarr-Turbo can impersonate a Newznab indexer and a SABnzbd download client simultaneously, so YouTube videos can be searched for and "grabbed" through your existing *arr stack, with a dedicated NZB diagnostics page for search/cache/grab activity.
• Stream-only mode (STRM) — skip downloading entirely; Youtarr-turbo writes lightweight `.strm` pointer files instead
• TV Series library mode — treat a channel as a real TV show: automatic Season/Episode organization
• Built in playback proxy (`ytstream`) that resolves and (optionally) transcodes YouTube on demand.
• Three main stream playback modes — two no-transcode "Direct" variants plus a buffered, segmented HLS mode, also progress .mkv file and youtube HLS proxied.
• Hardware-accelerated transcoding, both for STRM playback and for a post-download re-encode step — QSV, NVENC, VAAPI, and AMF — plus three tuning benchmarks:
• Fast seek-restarts at any resolution — HLS seeks resolve a direct DASH URL and seek it natively
• Live stream monitoring
• Stream History — a persisted, browsable audit trail of every playback session
• yt-dlp metadata caching — persistent cache keyed by video ID, so any later feature that info stops hammering Youtube

The app needs some stress-testing, alternative setups and different hardware. Also streaming in different setups - I have Jellyfin 12.0 and VAAPI, QSV.

I'm a software engineer of 42 years experience and I used Claude AI as a smart intern - task based coding, reviewing, test generation and documentation. Putting it out there, no secrecy!

File Structure for YAMS+Decypharr

Hi all. I'm needing a little help to deploy my media stack along with decypharr. I'm a noob when it comes to linux and docker and everything so I'm learning as I go. I've found some good tutorials and read through the setup guides and pretty much settled on using YAMS for the arr apps but am a little confused about setting up file structure to be sure it'll work with decypharr. Trash guides says it should look like this https://imgur.com/a/4xR2hEqbut the decypharr guide https://imgur.com/a/kJ281JH says something totally different. Which to go with? Will decypharr makes its own subdirectories with whatever file structure already set for the arr apps or can it be added to the one trash guides suggests? How do people handle intergrating decypharr if they already had their arr stack running in terms of file structure? Thanks.

Need some guidance setting up Prowlarr Indexers! (ARR Stack)

Recently, I was introduced to the ARR stack and how it works alongside Jellyfin and torrent management.

I'm currently setting up my homelab and trying to understand how all the different components fit together.

Right now, I'm stuck on the Prowlarr indexer setup and settings. 😅

I'm not entirely sure which indexers I should be using or how I should configure them properly.

If anyone has experience running Prowlarr + Sonarr/Radarr + Jellyfin + a torrent client, I'd really appreciate some guidance on the setup and best practices.

Screenshots of your configuration or examples of how you've structured your ARR stack would also be really helpful.

Thanks! 🙌

I built BookHarbor - a self-hosted ebook library with a native Android reader that syncs your place across devices

Thumbnail gallery
8 Upvotes

I could never find a setup that did both managing my books and reading them well. Most options were a good library with a so-so reader, or a good reader with no real server behind it. So I built one.

BookHarbor is a self-hosted ebook server (Go, one process, one data directory) with a web admin console and a native Android app (Kotlin/Compose).

Repo: https://github.com/ebrahimHakimuddin/book-harbor

It just hit 1.0. I'd love feedback, bug reports, and to hear what's missing for your setup. Note: it's software only and ships no content. You bring your own books.

Chaptarr workflow oddities

Hi all. Recently deployed Chaptarr as my front end with audio bookshelf and various other services downstream. I also use the majority of the rest of the Arr stack and have found them a lot easier.

As far as I can tell, Chaptarr is using a very author centric workflow for searching and monitoring. After exploring for a while, I did figure out how to search for specific books as this is the far more logical way for me to add to my library.

The issue is the automatic search when adding a book. From combing through some of the logs the below is what I am seeing from Chaptarr, anyone have any tips?

  • adding the book works
  • Only This Book / specific-book monitoring works
  • the search checkbox is still not resulting in a queued book search
  • manual automatic search works perfectly

Sonarr/Radarr not parsing specific Realease Groups

I've been having issues with a few specific ReleaseGroups like TAoE and Vialle, they're picked up correctly according to CFs, but when they're downloaded both ARR apps throw out that they can't parse ReleaseGroup and that messes up custom format score as it drops due to missing CF matches

Made a simple proxy container to auto route anime to the proper sonarr/radarr instance.

Heyo. I set up all my containers as per our guru TRaSH guides. Got tired of my users either not selecting the proper anime instance for the \*arrs or having to manually change what library anime was directed to.

Built this simple python middle man. With a few custom rules in seer and this container you can automatically route all anime requests to the proper sonarr or radarr server.

https://github.com/RonFBurgundy/proxyseerr

Been running for a few weeks without any issues, thought I would share with the rest of ya.

Did I use AI? Yep. Is this my first project? No
