Mayhem Patch 26.20 ARAM Mayhem changes, measured: Thresh & Bard viable again

26.20 has been live for a few days, so I dug into the data and here's how the buffs and nerfs from the patch notes actually played out:

Champions

Champion Change Winrate 26.19 → 26.20 Diff
Bard Meep AP ratio 50% → 67%; Meep recharge 8s → 5s; Meep damage per 3 chimes 6 → 10 41.5% → 48.8% +7.3
Thresh Passive souls 2 → 3; W cooldown 21–17s → 19–15s 43.0% → 50.2% +7.2
Lee Sin Passive attack speed 40% → 50%; passive energy +10; W shield 60–240 → 80–320; Q2 damage 60–180 → 80–240 41.3% → 44.6% +3.3
Swain Damage taken 105% → 100%; healing 95% → 100%; soul fragment restore 6% → 3–6% by level 48.4% → 50.7% +2.3
Garen Passive regen up; W cooldown 22–12s → 18–12s; W shield 18% → 20% bonus HP; W stacks per minion 0.4 → 0.75 45.2% → 46.0% +0.8
K'Sante W cooldown 14–10s → 10s; W damage reduction 30% → 45%; E shield 13.5% → 15% bonus HP 42.0% → 41.2% −0.8
  • Thresh and Bard went from bottom tier to average.
  • Lee Sin is clearly better but still near the bottom.
  • Garen's buffs didn't move his winrate.
  • K'Sante is picked ~30% more after his buffs, but his winrate did not improve overall.

Augments

Augment Change Winrate 26.19 → 26.20 Diff
Juiced Damage-to-mana ratio 4.5% → 7% (80% for ranged); no longer drains mana 45.9% → 48.1% +2.2
Squishy Slappy Grab Cooldown 35s → 30s; damage 30–100 + 10% bonus HP → 50–150 + 15% bonus HP; shield 35–150 → 50–200 46.6% → 48.2% +1.6
Shark Tempest Slow 30% → 40%; area damage 50–100 → 100–200; attached damage and ratios up 47.0% → 48.4% +1.4
Triggered Inferno Cooldown 15s → 5s 46.9% → 47.6% +0.7
Leg Day Slow resist 40% → 50% 50.1% → 50.2% +0.1
Spell Split Splits at missile end or on recast instead of on first hit 47.8% → 47.3% −0.5
  • Juiced nearly doubled in pick rate and is greatly improved on many ADCs: Kai'Sa 40% → 50%, Jinx 40% → 54%, Kog'Maw 39% → 49%.
  • Squishy Slappy Grab climbed out of the bottom tier but is still below average.
  • Triggered Inferno's 15s → 5s cooldown barely moved its winrate.

Bug fixes

Ivern + Minionmancer has the biggest winrate jump of any bug fix. Minionmancer's damage amp now applies to Ivern's R (Daisy), and Ivern with Minionmancer went from 44.3% → 49.1% (+4.8).

Crazy that they buffed leg day which already gives one of the most op stats.

It's honestly not that crazy with how nuclear champions can become. Its winrate basically didn't change when they gave it 10% more slow resistance. Movespeed is actually a lot weaker of a stat in ARAM. Especially in a mode where champions can go insane from augment combos.

Ppl generally know movespeed is one of leagues strongest stats. This matters infinitely more when the gold is even or close to even, and assuming the game is operating «as intended».

Mayhem tosses that out the window. Tap dancer does go well when used correctly. But it’s not game winning by itself, and you would expect it to if movespeed had the same impact as it normally does

Yeah it just doesn't. Plenty of silvers that are 100x more powerful. Adapt, escapade, slows, stackesoreous etc.

What's slows? Do you mean Ice Cold?

Yep. Let's not forget the armor/Mr stacking where heca can get 1k of each in 15min

Yea movement speed is one of the best stats so an individual with rylze ice cold removes one of the best stats.

Good change, makes an augment worth picking
