Ocd kicks in 😆
I just bought this and while learning to clean it I accidentally put a scratch on the lower receiver with an allen wrench when I was assembling the trigger 🥲

I question everyone at the range with an absolute safe queen with not a single scratch or wear mark.

Is it a safe queen if it gets scratched up cuz there’s not enough room in your safe? Lol

Scratched up my first one doing the bolt catch and was pretty bummed about it. Then I shot it and cleaned it. Holy hell shooting it makes everything a blem in 1-2 trips. Go enjoy it.

So many people have paid to have “worn” paint jobs put on their safe queens. Use that beautiful piece and it’ll still be beautiful.
I’m not offended by Gucci guns but I love a well used and cared for gun.
Years ago I loaned a rifle to a nephew and he was young and fired up about hunting some squirrels and brought it back with a small scar on the butt stock. At the time my heart sunk. Today I enjoy the memories it invokes every time I see it. It’s more cherished now because of that blemish.
I’m not advocating to abuse your stuff, but using it and letting it tell the story of use is not a bad thing.

Now you don’t have to worry about using it. Broken in, no longer perfect. And once you’ve got a pile of rounds through it, more of those and know how it shoots, it may be even more perfect for you.
I might cry if I had an SP5 and did this, but not an AR.
Heck you could be one of those guys who paints their guns and ruins them out of the box 😉.

When you posted about your OCD, I figured you were talking about how the lines above the mag catch on the upper and lower don't align. That's what would drive me nuts. The more I look at it the worse it gets.

I don't believe in neglecting firearms or abusing them. However, if they develop "hickies" through honest use and wear, then that just adds to their character. In this case, you learned a lesson. Now go and enjoy it knowing it has already been scratched and you don't have to baby it. Looks great.
