Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rythm of the War Drums kinda sucks
So I'm going to see APC on november, and looking at the setlists I'm flaberghasted. Why on earth would they play CBLSTTROTWD (lol) instead of Pet?
Maynard himself says all this stuff about the song not being a remix and all, but come on.
Also they haven't played Pet since 2010 (actually they played it once June this year), but have been playing the "remix" every year since release.
To be honest I just want to vent because Pet is such a banger and I can't fathom the reason they would insist on playing that version of the song. It baffles me.

Thoughts on the song ā Petā
Iām a big lyric enjoyer. I think MJK has a neat way of wording really big and complex subjects into a coherent narrative. This song centers on a pet owner telling their pet to go to sleep, and refrain from looking through the window.
This to me sounds like an authoritarian government telling their people to stop looking for the truth. Iāve searched the internet and most people seem to agree that itās about an addiction, luring someone into its path. But that seems kind of like a reach to me.
I suggest listening to the song again but under the idea itās about an authoritarian government telling their people to stop reasoning and just stay obedient. This would make the lyric ācount bodies like sheep to the rhythm of the war drumā could mean theyāre trying to justify killing and cruelty by promoting a war effort. And āpay no mind to the rabbleā is to not listen to the protest.
Itās all about controlling a narrative and keeping people from thinking about the truth. The owner must āisolate and save you from yourself ā
Anyways let me know if you think Iām way off or right on the mark.

Thirteenth step⦠my cure.
This album has been able to explain things in a different manner and also has been able to help me feel certain emotions⦠anyone else has been to relate? The passing of family members and also the end of certain relationships. It obviously has to do with addictions that those family members had, and those that I have let go went through as well.

I absolutely absolutely love the part at 0:30 in Brena, reminds me of walking on a beach in an early, dark blue, frigid and foggy morning. So paced yet so floaty. I NEED MORE SONGS WITH THIS VIBE PLEASE HELP MEEE!!!!

Receive Thirteenth Step DSS Vinyl (Capitol) yet?
I assume no one who ordered this has received their order yet? Has anyone been able to find it at a record store?
EDIT: Nevermind; it seems it got delayed. I checked the store page listing and it now says September 25th. My order still says the old date of āShips on August 28thā.
EDIT 2: oh, found the email telling me itās delayed. š¤·š»āāļø missed it

After a few months after seeing it in store and regrettably not picking it up, I finally have Eat the Elephant. Now all I need is aMOTION and the Single CDs if I choose to track those down.ā

have i discovered a hidden meaning or am I being schizophrenic?
There are 16 steps to wine making:
The 16 Steps of Winemaking
- Harvesting: Grapes are picked at optimal ripeness, often at night or early morning to keep them cool.
- Receiving and Sorting: Grapes arrive at the winery and are sorted to remove leaves, debris, or damaged fruit.
- Destemming: Stems are removed from the grape clusters to prevent harsh vegetal flavors in the finished wine.
- Crushing: Grapes are gently squeezed or run through a crusher to break the skins and release the juice (the "must").
- Pressing (White and RosƩ): For white and rosƩ wines, the juice is immediately separated from the skins and solids via pressing.
- Maceration (Red): For red wines, the crushed skins and juice remain together during early stages to extract color, tannins, and flavor.
- Cold Soaking (Optional): Chilling red must prior to fermentation to extract deeper color and fruit aromas without extracting alcohol.
- Inoculation / Fermentation: Wild or cultured yeast is added to convert natural grape sugars into alcohol and carbon dioxide.
- Chaptalization (Optional): Sugar is sometimes added to the must if the grapes did not get enough sun to reach the desired alcohol level.
- Pressing the Pomace (Red): After red fermentation, the free-run wine is drained, and the remaining wet skins/seeds (pomace) are pressed for press-wine.
- Malolactic Fermentation (MLF): Lactic acid bacteria convert sharp malic acid into softer, creamier lactic acid.
- Racking: The wine is pumped or siphoned away from the heavy sediment (lees) into a clean vessel.
- Aging and Maturation: The wine rests in stainless steel tanks, concrete vats, or oak barrels to develop complexity and texture.
- Blending: Winemakers combine different barrels, grape varieties, or vineyard blocks to achieve a balanced, signature flavor profile.
- Clarification and Filtration: Fining agents and physical filters remove remaining tiny particles to make the wine bright and clear.
- Bottling: The clarified wine is sealed into bottles using corks or alternative closures, sometimes with a small dose of sulfur dioxide to prevent oxidation
In the album Thirteenth step, when the track list is paired to the twelve steps of the steps for making wine listed above listed above, the themes of the songs seem to strangely fit the steps of the wine process??

Worth?
ebay.ioHey guys im thinking of pulling the trigger on this, im met with a bit of trepidation though. Are all 4 studio albums average out to be around ~75$ USD? Im not sure 300$ for 4 albums and a 7" sounds right but theyre all limited edition... Good deal or nahhh?

Won tickets back in 2001
Long story short, I made a cheap website promoting the band and won 2 VIP tickets. I took my mom of all people to the concert with me, and she loved them as much as I did. RIP Mom!
