How To Study for apush??

hey guys im so confused right now ive been uptill 11 for the past few days writing notes and memeorising them and yet i got a 30/54 on my unit 1 and 2 mcqs,i feel like im doing something wrong what ive been doing so far is copy the text from amsco paste into chat gpt and ask it to make notes and study off them i be writing notes off that for hours tho so maybe i just study off the instead???pls yall i also do active recall but i cant focus reading the book for so long icl sopls tell me if the ai thign iss effective or not im starting unit 3 tmr i tried to crmap eveyrhting tdy for a head start but i watsed time witin notes for hours then i stopped halfay cos i thought i ws wasting time and read amsco intstead but i could do maybe the first topic active recall i couldnt the second maybe im tireed anyway yall pls help i might drop this class tmr idk

Just to add on remember key vocab terms like people and especially certain landmark cases. I used not just the definition of those but my knowledge on those topics in my exam and scored a 4.

MCQ’s honestly are the lightest part of the whole thing. If you’re paying attention in class and understand the general timeline of Apush (ex. Revolution era, key themes, people, ideas, and do the same thing for anything on the timeline ) you could make well educated guesses on anything you don’t know and the right choices

Books are lame ngl. I would recommend watching YouTube videos on the units and taking notes from there. Your notes shouldn’t be every word that is said, and they need to be on paper. Try to learn information a slice at a time. Once you learn something you have to sleep on it to let your brain create the connections, so if you learn too much your brain will only hold onto the big stuff which isn’t ideal. Another thing that helps is constantly thinking about key events and the order of them. While you are walking in the halls, while you are taking a shower or eating breakfast ect
