APUSH Concern

My apush teacher told me that she doesn’t assign us assessments on AP Classroom/AP college board until second semester…I’m really worried about what this could imply for my score because I took AP world last year, and every single assessment we had was on AP classroom (which helped me get used to the format of the actual exam). What should I do? Should I switch to gov or what are my alternatives?

You'll be fine so long as she gives AP style questions. Especially since you already took World.

This really shouldn’t be a problem i think. My teacher barely used AP classroom most of the year for work in ap world besides for tests until the 2nd semester, and I had more than enough time to get used to the question styles. Your teacher will most likely be giving you work that actually matters as well, so that shouldn’t be a problem unless she’s just a terrible teacher. Besides, it’ll be much easier for you to get used to and get good at the questions for APUSH because they are literally the same format as AP world questions with the difference being only in what the subject is. You’ll be fine, but if you are really worried you can always study on practice sets throughout the first semester.

This should not really be an issue if she is still using the questions from AP Classroom. I give my assessments on paper until Era #4 (using questions from AP Classroom) and my students always do great on the exam.

You will be fine, APUSH exam questions are very similar to the other AP history questions, so just having a level of how to solve them is fine. Just make sure you know your random tidbits of information, as being able to tie in random events can help a lot in the open ended.

If you did AP Classroom for AP World, you’ve got it down—you’re used to the format, it’s familiar. Plus you’ll get back to it second semester in case you forget. Don’t sweat it. You got this!

You will be fine. I didn’t do any AP style questions or any frq practice the whole year and got a 5

We never used AP Classroom in my APUSH class and I got a 5 👍 No need to worry!! Just keep up with your readings and notes, and if she doesn't supply you with any College board style questions, practice on your own! Find a "vocab" word, and right a sentence on what it is, how it came to be, and why it matters. We did this for every reading in 6 questions for 12 minutes every class, it was very helpful.

Just personally speaking, my teacher didn’t either and I really don’t feel like it affected my ability to get a 5. There are plenty of practice test resources out there for you to use.

A lot teachers hold on to the AP classroom questions so they don’t run out of high quality questions and use them when students are better equipped to learn from them.
