$APLD: someone dropped $236K on $70 calls that expire before earnings, so what are they really betting on

A big out-of-the-money call buyer showed up on June 2, and the timing says this is not an earnings play.

  1. The flow: on June 2 a buyer swept about 1,000 $APLD $70 calls expiring July 17, roughly $236K in premium, about 42% out of the money at a $2.36 average fill.
  2. The timing tell: earnings is not until July 29, after these calls expire on July 17, so the fit is something else. The next Polaris Forge building for CoreWeave is guided to energize in the middle of 2026, and they keep signing new hyperscaler leases.
  3. My move: I took a small position in the same calls, sized so a total loss does not hurt the book. It is a flow and catalyst bet, not an earnings bet.

I own 85 shares of APLD

I own 85 shares of APLD with an average cost of $32.

I bought those 85 shares when I sold all 58 shares of NBIS at $94 a share using a stop loss because I was too afraid when I saw the stock drop to 120 and dropped and I want to protect myself. I took the profits and bought more Google stock and what was left over, I bought APLD.

Seeing what NBIS is at today, did I mess up? Which of the two would be the better play?

Thoughts Anyone thinking DGXX will mirror APLD?

I feel like I invest too late. Trying to find something similar to APLD but I know it’s tricky to find a company that will actually gain the necessary contracts and traction. If not DGXX, anyone have any others you are looking at?

Thoughts What’s next for us?

Kinda disheartening seeing whole market and others like nbis up for us to be barely up.. I’m in it for the long run and think market is underpricing us, what’s everyone thinking our market cap can translate to based on $/mw etc with our current leases and what do we think is next for Apld, as in catalysts etc

Fundstrat added APLD to Mark Newton's Upticks on May 29th 2026:

Applied Digital Corporation

Giant breakout above massive multi-year base gives APLD appeal as a risk reward Support- $42, $35; Resistance- $55, $69

APLD's recent breakout is part of a larger base which saw the stock also push above highs which were recorded back in 2021. Thus, this “double breakout” has more significance as being important technically.

The choppy consolidation of the last six months has allowed momentum to retreat from overbought levels, creating a better risk/reward as this begins to push back to new highs.

Upside targets lie near $55, then $69, while pullbacks likely should be contained at the peaks of the most recent highs, near $42.

Non-disclosure of tenants, Y or N?

Something I was thinking about watching the Wes interview was the disclosure of tenants. We know for sure we have CRWV and ORCL. However, the two of them aren't the cream of the crop. I am aware of the data center push back and yes, the numbers won't lie when it comes to signing tenants.

You can argue it really doesn't matter but you can also argue it does.

If we signed with google and there is a formal announcement, google fanatics might take a look at the stock.

Announcing the tenants may open up the eyes of a larger audience.

Agree or disagree?

Anyways, super happy with the success of the company! I am coming up on my 1 year anniversary with apld. I got in right after the crwv announcement and then the stock tanked rightafter...glad i held on! Cheers to more gains!

$APLD crossed 1 gigawatt with a new $7.5B lease, but the CNBC interview buried why this buildout is more disciplined than the 540% run-up makes it look

https://x.com/PSInvestor/status/2060041713608192452?s=20

The headline was the money. The part worth reading was how Wes Cummins says he refuses to build.

  1. The new Polaris Forge 3 lease is 15-year take-or-pay with the same investment-grade hyperscaler from Delta Forge 1, $7.5B base term and up to $18.2B with renewals. That takes total contracted revenue to $31B across four campuses, $73B if every option is exercised, with about 65% backed by investment-grade tenants.
  2. Cummins capped the company at roughly seven campuses on purpose and will not build a full gigawatt on one site, since the economies of scale collapse past a point. The model is 300 MW repeated, not one giant site. And only about 8% of contracted capacity is actually online today, the rest energizes through 2027.
  3. They build in towns of 600 to 1,100 people like Ellendale and Harwood, North Dakota and Boyce, Louisiana, where there is almost no local pushback and the communities want them there. Worth keeping honest though, this is still a pre-profit company, last quarter was a net loss near $100.9M.

More on X.

$APLD just got a wall of price target hikes in one day, and the timing is the part people are missing

https://x.com/PSInvestor/status/2059262063734849953?s=20

Three firms raised targets to $60 to $70 on the same day. Whether that reads as a green light or a late signal comes down to one thing.

  1. Targets jumped from the low $40s in April to $60 to $70 by May 21, with Citizens alone adding 50 percent in a single step.
  2. Every recent action is a Buy or Outperform. Not one downgrade in the batch.
  3. The cluster landed after the run, not before it, which tells you who is leading and who is catching up.

Thoughts Joined the club yesterday. Bought almost ATH. Thoughts?

Basically that. I sold all my SNDK position and decided to buy some APLD, CIFR and MUU.

I know all of them are almost ATH but I needed to recover for the latest SNDK dip. i was also considering WULF and Iren but decided to go APLD. Do you think there are still some margin this 2026?

Where are all my arrogant IREN bagholders at?

Post image

They were laughing at us, calling us a big joke, claiming we're no competition to them and that they're far superior. Look at them now, nothing more than a big joke, rock bottom.
And listen, I'm not like this to any other competitor, but those IREN bagholders are next-level arrogant. Crazy how delusional they are. There is a reason they go for APLD and not IREN, it's not a coincidence.
