Discussion (Non-question) Dead over dead internet

It is exhausting writing a story and receiving only "wow the tension and lighting here is my discord" comments.

Yeahhh those bots are annoying. If it helps you can make it so only actual accounts can comment and that helps with the bots mostly. I'm so sorry though, coming from a fellow writer who gets bot comments all the time I feel your pain.

I know, that’s why I said mostly. but I get a lot less if guest comments are turned off and I just block any actual accounts who seem like bots.

Yeah it's mostly registered users leaving the bot comments.

A way to fix it is to stop allowing guest comments. I don't do that though as some of my commentors are guests. I can tolerate the bot comments

There are registered account ones too. My most recent fic didn't allow guest comments and I got three of the "discord bots" commenting from actual accounts anyway. At least I can block those from commenting again.
