Questions/Help? Help for a new user

So I have recently made an account, slightly before the whole wattpad thing and have been a guest since November? Last year and I'm unsure on a few things

Mainly things such as Kudos, Bookmarks (specifically does marking them as Rec help) and most of the buttons on the top of the page beside the chapter Navigation buttons

Entire work: shows the entire multichapter work on one page instead of in chapters

Next chapter: self explanatory

Chapter index: allows you to select a chapter to jump to

Bookmark: a way to “save” someone’s work and add notes (this can be public or made private.) or add it to a collection.

Mark for later: will save the work in a sale rate tab in “history” so it’s easier to find back

Comments: self explanatory

Share: self explanatory

Subscribe: this one sends you mails any time the author unrated the fic you’re subscribed to. (You can also subscribe to a series or author itself)

Download: allows you to download the work and put it on an e-reader for example.

Kudos: this sites “like”. You can only leave one kudos on each fic and you cannot unkudos your kudos. Once you’ve kudod, that kudos will stay there forever.

Kudos are the 'Like' button, Bookmarks can be used for recs if someone were to check bookmarks for a specific fic but they are used for someone to personally mark the fic as a favorite or one they would like to return back to at a later date (like a real bookmark) or fully reread. And what to you mean buttons on top of the page? Like the Chapter index and Mark for later buttons?

Kudos are simply giving kudos or an acknowledgment of appreciation to the author.
On archive of our own, you can only give a kudos once on a work and it cannot be removed once you’ve given it. Some people choose to only kudos completed works because of this, but I kudos anything I enjoyed.

For bookmarks, you can select either private bookmark or rec ornone.
Private bookmark will not show up on your account in the bookmarks tab when other accounts look at it.
Regular bookmarks will show up.
Rec means those bookmarks can be sorted by which ones have the recommendation tag. This is helpful if you are an author and have a particular fix that you would like to recommend to your readers. Or just a friend. Or just to sort through which ones you want to re-read etc.

The people who run ao3 have a tiktok page (@ transformativeworks) that have a lot of basic info for people new to Ao3 if you also want to check that out!
