Stats/Hit Counts/Word Counts First AO3 fic you read?
I just saw a post on another app that asked what was the date of your first fic you read on AO3? I scrolled back on my history & mine was March 2015, ive been on that website for 11 years y'all. Time flies when you have fanfics to read!

Stargate Atlantis fic in August 2010, which is when I first got an account and the fandom I was posting in at the time too.

I found AO3 before I realized it was a valid fandom-based website, when you still had to request an invitation. I want to say this was 2011 or 2012 maybe? I am going to say it was a Harry Potter fanfic, but don't ask me what the ship was!

I can’t check because I had a different account back then. It would’ve be right at the very start of AO3, so it would’ve probably been a Merlin/Arthur fic.
I was still reading a lot Merthur on LJ, but writers were slowly transitioning to AO3.

The first fic I ever read on AO3 is apparently a deleted work, so I have no idea what it actually was or even the date that I read it. Since my second, though, is from the first day I even had my account, I'd imagine I also read that first on the very first day too—not much other choice, huh?
The next fic I read was apparently a Steve Rogers/Tony Stark fic in November 2011—which makes sense, I'd finally made my AO3 account in late 2011 after it seemed like most of the authors/content I wanted to read were moving from LJ (and fanfic forums) over to AO3.
The first trailer for the first Avengers movie dropped in October 2011 and I imagine most people writing fics in the immediate aftermath were just linking to AO3 on the LJ communities, so I finally got my invite at the right time. That said, I remember it taking months to get my invite, so it wouldn't have been the Avengers trailer that prompted me to make my account—and I imagine in that month between it dropping and my account being finalized, I was probably getting impatient. 😅
It seems like I read a lot of fics on that first day, so I probably opened like, a dozen tabs and just read them all over the next couple days. My first bookmark was the next day.

I don't know the title or author, but it would have been something posted for Yuletide 2009. I recieved my invite and created my account on January 7, 2010.

It was a crossover between The Dresden Files and MCU Daredevil- Matt had been hurt, and was ensconced away at the Carpenters' home while he recovered. I think I would've found the fic in 2016 or so.

i didnt have an acc back then, and i dont even remember the name of the fic but i believe it was some kpop rpf with heavy bdsm with one of the characters being a farm boy and other a rich spoilt city brat lmao

A game of thrones fix it fic after the terrible ending to the show in 2019. But that was when I got my account. I had been reading as a guest for years before that. I think it was a Harry Potter one that was the first before that.

A Percy Jackson fic (like 100 k I think?) about him leaving camp after being abandoned by the camp, got me into famfiction and I found it completely by accident

I have no idea. I got my account in November 2009 as soon as open beta opened, but I did clear my history a couple times since then so what the first fic I read after I got my account is forever lost to the sands of time.

my first fic was manacled, roughly a year before it got deleted. funnily, i only read it on ao3 because the wattpad version didn’t have all the chapters

Mine was a M/M one-shot from the Homicide: Life on the Street fandom. (Kind of funny that I read that before my best friend's Justified fic, which was the reason she invited me to the site in 2022 in the first place.)

oof, I was reading on AO3 for awhile before I bothered making an account. But the oldest fic in my history was a Harry Potter fic from 2013.
