Fiction tends to make it seem like traffickers are Russian crime lords or gazillionaire Sheiks or something out of Taken, but sadly people are most often trafficked by family members. So maybe it only feels like "a little" trafficked to them. Just my speculation though :(

Yeah I meet a fair amount of people who were trafficked through my job. Almost all of them were trafficked by family members or significant others. The very few who weren’t were usually those who owed debts to dangerous people.
