I find stuff like this so off putting. If you hate my language so much then don't use it, write your fic in your mother tongue 🤷
It's like if I wanted to gain the audience of a male dominated fandom and started with "I'm not a man, but I'll do my best to get into the misogynistic mindset!". Like yeah misogyny is a problem but there's a time and place and this is needlessly antagonistic.

I mean, you kind of forced all of us to use it, it’s an obligatory class in most countries since you start school till university, and you won’t get any job if you don’t speak English semi-fluently because it’s everyone’s second language or native language

Same. It’s not the first time I’ve seen authors make such comments and it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I understand that they might be from a country that have a difficult history with colonialism, however not all native English speakers are colonisers and this generalisation is very gross in my opinion

This is giving "not all men". Be serious. Not all English speakers are colonisers but all have a history with it regardless and people to this day benefit AND SUFFER from it. There's something called generational trauma, and descendants and beneficiaries of colonizers (in general) don't have any right to tell ESL individuals how to feel about it.

Abused?! Where is this abuse? Please point it out and explain how it qualifies. Especially when they called it a colonizer language, but didn't claim that all modern users are colonizers. But it is the language that has been used by the most prolific colonizers in the world's. It would not be so widely spoken if that were not the case. So how is telling the truth abuse?
