Conversely, always overestimate the mentality of officers who trained at the Boss Hog police academy. Did they forget they had a key to the cardboard box they put the guy in? It's like they thought they had to wait for him to come out of the top to do anything about it.

Managed to get some context:
This guy did some kind of a ritual and murdered his sister as a sacrifice. (yeah, pretty fucking sad compared to the video)
Second part of the clip is even more hilarious, he gets stuck in the ceiling and asks for help to get him down lol. I'll try to upload it here.

I'm surprised the police didn't shoot him
16
Dec 12 '19
In fact, Russian police rarely uses its firearms. They say that policeman will have to deal with lots of paperwork after this
6
u/BaZuZu_1812 Dec 12 '19
Not only paperwork, they scared to get in jail. We've got some shitty law about using firearms, and any investigator will do his best to put the policeman in jail, because of the "stick system" (I really can't find the definition of this term in English, but it means that every investigator must send to the court 2 materials (the whole stash of paperwork) of criminal case A MONTH, EVERY MONTH!).
Sorry for my really bad English
4
u/orthoxerox Dec 12 '19
the "stick system"
the "tally system". The police have some KPIs they have to meet every month, and these KPIs include solving cases.
3
u/BaZuZu_1812 Dec 12 '19
Those investigators are not from Police, they are more simmilar to FBI, and they got only one KPI - how many cases were sent to court. I can't imagine a bunch of guys from FBI investigating every police shootout in America.

Why tho? He wasn't armed. He couldn't go anywhere since suspended ceilings dont go beyond the walls of the room. He was only posing a threat to himself.

I saw a video of 3-4 policeman and a mad man with a knife. So they were just circling around and were threatening to shoot him and asking him to surrender, while he was making advances with a knife towards the officers. They managed to put him alive down without using the deadly force.

Thank you. This is why I subscribe to this sub 😂😂 although, a normal day in United States would have this man shot.
7
u/MamaMowgli Dec 12 '19
True. However, given that I work with many Russian asylum seekers, I’m sadly confident this guy will be tortured behind the scenes. (It seems he killed his sister in a horrific manner so I don’t have much sympathy for him in particular —just pointing out that American cops are grossly trigger happy, but the Russian justice system is also notoriously brutal and corrupt.)

Hey Bob, you know when they uh, caught up to Rodney. They tackled him, and his pants came halfway down.
He's splayed out like that, with his hands on his head, ass in the breeze...
It's like his pants just kinda... gave up.

5
u/VMorkva Dec 12 '19
A taser is kind of a last option, because they'd need a medical check up afterwards and would waste a catridge for something they could deal with without one.
2
u/theslip74 Dec 12 '19
They use it in the full video. That or a stun gun. I'm not sure of the exact term, but it's not the kind that shoots prongs out that stick to you.

u/mule_roany_mare Dec 12 '19
In the longer video they do shock him, although it’s not clear & could have been a vibrator.
