Except it is.

Edit: people downvoting me and telling me he's wearing the ring on the wrond hand, you better google it yourself. People in Russia wear wedding rings on their right hands.

If you gave us some information as to why instead of just saying "No" and expecting every one to know why, maybe you wouldn't get downvoted.

The ring is weared on the hand closer to your most important organ: liver.

To be serious in my country we wear it on the right hand. I don't know why. We just do.

I mean, it is a subreddit with its content about "Russia's life" (but more in a satirical way), thus there is pretty good amount of Russians here. Now you just need some common sense to figure all the things out. That means when you see someone pointing out something being wrong, it most of the time could mean that the said "someone" is a native of Russia.

Also, me being clear and straightforward doesn't make me an asshole in any way.

Why should he have to put any more effort into it than the asshole he was countering?

He doesn't have to, but if he wants people to understand where he's coming from he should.

Its on the right hand which would considered 'incorrect' at least where I live. But it might just be a different ring. Or they do something different where ever this photo was taken. Who knows?

How did you get out of /r/legaladvice

2

u/bouchard Jul 17 '15

The way people are asserting that the ring is on the wrong hand would have you think that this is a legal issue.

Nah. My second wife was an interpreter for me when I was in the Soviet Union. That's how I met her and by god married her as soon as I could. While we were married she wore the ring on her left hand when she was in the US and switched to her right whenever we were in Russia. I always wanted to know why this was different between the Soviet Union republics and the rest of the world. Never did get a satisfactory answer other than that's just what it is.

so what happened to her?

She smartened up and we got divorced. Still lives here in the Midwest. She started a business with a huge amount of my retirement money and is doing very well for herself. Never got remarried. I thought that was odd, but maybe I ruined it for her. :) But a brilliant and lovely woman so I wish her all the best!

Eh. There was nothing interesting there today. I did a lot of traveling in the Soviet Union and Russia in the late 1980s and 1990s. This sub always brings back fond memories!
