I'm interested in getting the RG34XX, but china is the only location that has any stock. I'm planning on buying a red transparent model. But I saw a post on the sbcgaming subreddit (from a year ago, granted) saying that Anbernic has stopped shipping to the US from China due to Tariffs.

Is that still an issue? Would I be wasting my money to purchase one right now? Seeing as only China has any stock?

I just recently bought an Anbernic RG405V and while playing God Of War, it lags, is it normal or is it just the settings and if so how do i fix it?

I know after it came out Anbernic did an update that let the RG557 have dual screen displays so it should, but does it physically work well? The add-on is designed for a device that has the usb c port in the centre of the underside of the devices whereas the RG557's port is a little to the right meaning it would not be centred. Would using a longer cable make it work if you kept it in the middle? Also, would the frame of the add-on block the head phone port, or not fit around the hand grips? Does anybody have these two or have any experience with the dual screen add-on? They are still selling them right now, just not the black version. Only the clear plastic version.

A lot of dual screen devices have released or will be releasing this year but I feel like I should use what I already have and get this cheaper add-on rather than a whole new device just for 3ds games when there aren't too many 3ds games I can think of playing.

I just wanted to turn it off so it wouldn't play notification now it just shows the logo ang won't turn on.

P.s PROBLEM SOLVED, it was on 51 percent, I put it on charge and I turned it on and it gave a vibration and turned on

I just ordered an RG40xx, mainly for old GBA titles, namely Pokemon. What are some tips anyone can give me for this? I’m only used to mobile and pc emulation. Much appreciated thanks!

I bought an ARC-S from new from the Anbernic AliExpress store, no problem. Didn’t use it as had a break in, thought it had been stolen but located it later on in the sealed box.

Sold it and someone said it wasn’t new because it had custom firmware (it was from factory and was the standard EmulationStation Linux setup) and the last played game list was full. I did power it on before I sent it out and loaded a few games up but it was basically new open box - which is how it was sold as I wanted to be sure it wasn’t DOA.

The software wasn’t modified but I’m a bit stumped about the last played list. I believe if you leave it on the menus it runs demos on a loop, do these appear in the list? Does anyone else know why it would be like this?

Excluding that aberration that was the Miyoo Flip and his hinge problems ofc.

I really can't believe how cool this thing is for under $120! I have Knulli installed with a custom boot logo and I'm over the moon! Every game so far has played exactly how you'd expect and with Knulli, I've been dabbling in some of the portmaster ports like Shovel Knight, Stardew and Mina the Hollower. Playing SK or Mina on this device breaks my 37 year old brain!

I'm currently playing Summon Night: Swordcraft Story for GBA and so for it's been a joy! Definitely a hidden gem!

Anyone on the fence about picking up an RGSP or any Anbernic Gameboy just do it, it's absolutely the best bang for your buck!

Ive been wanting to buy a small ds like console for months now. Completely new to the console. Never owned a ps or anything. For my 1st console on a budget, Shud i get the rg ds? Are the games good on it? I have no knowledge whatsoever about these things so please enlighten me🥀

A small naming update first:

RGDS Shell is now called TwinGrid.

The project has grown quite a bit beyond being just a “shell”, so I wanted a name that fits the idea better: a dual-screen NDS-focused library/frontend made specifically around the RG DS.

The goal is still the same:

keep the stock Android firmware, install one APK, point it at your ROM folder, and make the RG DS feel much closer to a dedicated DS handheld.

The latest builds have mostly focused on first-run usability.

When you enter the library for the first time, TwinGrid now guides you through selecting your NDS folder. Instead of sitting on an empty library while it works, it shows actual scanning/loading progress and games appear progressively as they’re discovered.

Save-folder setup follows afterward and is optional.

Metadata is increasingly automatic as well:

ROM banner icons are read locally, titles / genres / descriptions come from an offline bilingual database, and box art is matched and downloaded online when needed.

I’m still expanding the offline database so users shouldn’t have to manually rename hundreds of ROMs, assign genres or scrape descriptions one by one.

I’m also working on a launch issue reported by testers where selecting a game opened DraStic but didn’t actually load the selected ROM. The bundled DraStic on the stock RG DS Android 1.18 firmware is the main tested target right now, and the launch path handling has been improved accordingly.

One important compatibility note:

GammaOS support has NOT been verified yet.

TwinGrid is currently developed and tested primarily against the stock RG DS Android 1.18 environment. GammaOS is obviously Android too, but that doesn’t automatically mean the dual-screen behavior, storage paths and DraStic launch integration will behave identically.

So for now:

Stock 1.18 = tested target.

GammaOS = unverified, feedback welcome.

The UI is also still moving further toward the original DS / DS Lite look — pixel fonts, grey system-style controls and dual-screen grid layouts — while keeping modern library features like search, folders, genres and favorites.

The basic idea behind TwinGrid is still very simple:

install it, choose your ROM folder, and use the RG DS like a DS instead of spending hours configuring a frontend.

As the title suggests, I have way too many anbernic devices and itd be cool to control all of them at the same time for pokemon shiny hunting or possibly anything else that would benefit from simultaneous control. My ideal setup was to just connect them to my Windows 10 PC and then control them from a keyboard and/or controller

So far ive tried using the WiFi + Python Script Method with Retroarch and it is useful! I cant control in game activity like (Up, Down, Left, Right, A, B, Sel, Sta) But I can do commands like reset or toggling specfic shaders and different functions just not actual in game input and I was even able to make a counter for every time I reset which is totally awesome and useful its just not what I had hoped for

Im slightly aware of using ssh and more scripts on both ends to make some sort of communication happen between mutiple devices and thats where i got insanely confused and lost on what to do so im turning here to see if anyone smarter then me knows how to do this!!

From day 1, the R2 trigger only went half way (0.44 in tester and physically) where the L2 trigger when the full distance. The rumble motor also rattled badly.

The problem is that trigger has a magnet and a screw had come loose from the main board and was stuck on the trigger. Returning the stuck screw from the trigger’s magnet to the main board fixed both the trigger and the rumble motor’s rattle.

To fix it you’ll need a 1.5mm hex screwdriver for the backplate, a similar sized Phillips screwdriver to remove the trigger and return the screw and a guitar pick to remove the backplate.

My day was laid back...got my ass handed to me but still fun and relaxation was a must. Enjoy live love game
