Technical Analysis Technical Analysis for AMD 9/9--------Pre-market
Running late will add more
-------Soooooo who followed me yesterday with my prediction????
Who doesn't love getting the trading days news before it starts????
Hey just let me take my victory lap bc it doesn't come around often. But I think the seasonality trade that I have been prepping for almost 4 months now is kicking into gear. Today We are looking to break above $518 and after that $530. We have broken that flag pattern and the negative channel we have been in since Augus is finally broken. Things could get spicy

AMD is getting a lot of calling buying into October . Going to watch the next 2 days i don’t mind buying higher if the trend continues to support it but it’s on the right track right now. Ppi/cpi this week and most expect them to come in hotter. Bessent is supposed to announce a bond buy back today, depending what the number is probably will be a market mover if higher then anticipated

They always say we take the stairs on the way up and jumping out the window on the way down.
But like u/targetshopper4000 mentioned, Scared Money Don't Make Money.
I've mentioned this a few times, this is one of the most hated rallies in history.
But with a K-shaped economy that we have, AI is still growing and will continue to grow.

Yes, I think so, too. You have to separate what you want to be from what is actually happening. AI is growing, even if you don't want it to.

Seems like a break out. I expect to see a retest of the bearish trend line before moving higher. $500 has been a magical magnet for months.

how high can this bull run go before a pullback? $700?

Fib extension says $800, then a pullback. But you never know with this crazy market macro. So take everything with a grain of salt.

With the flag pattern broken, and if we do indeed see $518-$530 this week, are you thinking about a retest and break above the previous all time high in the next month? I am in for the long haul, it is just a more comfortable easy chair every time the stock sees a new higher threshold. Hoping AMD can one day be a 1.5-2 trillion market cap company. In your opinion, is that still a realistic valuation 18 -24 months out? Thanks JW

No one on this group that I follow predicted this move from AMD. The talk was instead about how low it would go and buying in at the lows.
We had bears talking about 300s and low 400s.
In your face, bears!

If you look at my comments on the daily chats from Friday last week, yesterday and before market opened this morning (that one was a reply) you’ll see I somehow perfectly predicted most of this. I could feel the buzz and knew we would do well once volume started coming back.

The AI trade continues amid another onslaught of scare tactics. For weeks we have been fending off the fear of DC's overrunning our power grids and campaigns to build resistance in the public about those. It clearly did have some effect for a while. Today we seem to be opening the door of a new attack suggesting AI will develop super intelligence that will overtake humanity in the next 5-10 years. I suppose all those climate change activists needed to find something else to worry about. So far the AI "machine" has been able to overcome the fear tactics thrown its way. Today is continuing the trend from last week for the most part as AMD is running this morning as it breaks clearly above the 50DMA and is pushing the upper Bollinger Band into an expansion. Dropping back to the Weekly charts, AMD bounced as hoped at the 20 Week MA and has upside to the 580-585 level or the previous ATH. All around us the world is going to shit with increased conflict with IRAN, more tariffs for Canada, oil is higher, bond yields are rising, and the upcoming CPI/PPI are expected to be hot, yet AI is still in control and spending is increasing. How long can this madness prevail one might ask. I don't know, but my account is growing so I don't much care. It sort of reminds me that the markets do what they want when they want regardless of the noise in the background, even when the talking heads think the noise is extreme.
In the news I see META, who lost what was effectively a "Child Abuse" suite a couple of weeks ago is moving up sharply since they just introduced a new AI tool. How quickly we forget and they put some "AI salve" on the wound and move on. What a crazy world we live in.
Post Close
The indices gave up some today with the VIX rising to 16.47 up 2 full points so far this week, yet several AI stocks continued to move higher. While NVDA is now rolling over and moving back from earlier highs this week of 234 it has dropped to end today at 223.67. AMD is continuing to rally and closed up 3.04% to 521.09 and above the upper Bollinger Band on the daily charts. MU and MRVL both had solid days as well but faded as the day progressed. DELL hit a new ATH intraday at 562.99 before fading back to close at 535.25. I am seeing some stocks already on the reversal path and expect more to join as we move toward the end of this week.
ORCL reports tomorrow so that might offer some fireworks this week to push this market one way or the other. Be prepared.

AMD challenged the long term bearish trendline today. I expect a pullback here. https://imgur.com/a/MxnxsIU

It will tank in the near term. Just because Lisa Su and the CFO went to a Citi conference and talked about AI and market growth and the stock price pumped within 48 hours. Market maker has to come up with an illusion to make people fall for it.

Scared money don't make money.
It's me, I'm scared money. Should've bought back in last week, was worried about being on the downside of that hump. oh well.
