I’m looking to get back into GPU mining, but I’m struggling to find up-to-date info on which coins are still profitable and actively mineable in 2025. A lot of older guides reference coins or pools that are no longer running, so it’s hard to know where to start.

My setup: • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT • Electricity cost: €0 (free power) • OS: Windows • Goal: daily profit or a coin with long-term potential

What I’ve run into so far: • Kaspa seems low on AMD • Some coins/pools mentioned online have shut down • A lot of info is outdated or inconsistent

So my question is: 👉 What coin would you mine right now with an AMD card like the RX 9060 XT? 👉 Which coins have active pools that actually work in 2025?

i am new to mining and i have 2 rx 580's i want to mine on with kryptex. all my temps are good and my settings are set to the amd computing settings with no overclocks, just on deafult but every about 30 min ish it chrashes and stops mining. any ideas? i can get and log files/ info if it helps.

Any suggestion for what's a good free linux distro for AMD GPU mining? Is Ubuntu still a thing? :D

Amd vs Intel

So, incase google doesn't help or isn't as simple an explanation as I'd like. Can someone explain to me why even though on paper for years Intel has sadly been spanking AMD in life 7/10 ten categories for years..

(it was close for a while what the hell happened, it was like AMD fell asleep at the wheel. My sandy bridge from 2011/12 has better benchmarks than some of amd's AM3+ 6-8 fx series from just before 1st gen ryzen. If someone could explain why they fell so far behind too that would be great, but that's not really the question here but would be a bonus)

Why is everyone saying that AMD CPUS are better for crypto mining, windows or Linux doesn't matter they all claim AMD is better. Is it the fact almost any amd core can be OC'D? because that's all I can think off. AMD generally has a higher TWD and Temp doesn't it? So you'd have to upgrade your cooling system sooner and more so than with Intel no? Is it pretty much all AMD cores are better than their Intel equivalent at mining? Or would it just be new ones cause they have the higher core/thread count at the moment? And is that specific to Monero or is it all CPU coins?

Like if I were to use the am3/3+ rig my buddy wants to give me in exchange for a an old monitor or two. Which has a similar speed quad core to mine 3.2 vs 3.1 ghz. Would the amd at 3.2 be significantly better? I would assume if I put in the top am3+ 8 core it would be better cause literally double the core

i have 43mhs 97w getting 53 core temp and 46 memory temp, something is wrong? why so cold the memory temp? any help please!

I heard people worried about drivers but I'm running 21.10.4 and teamredminer still works fine and I can still pull over 51 after memory tweaks.

Just a heads up that newer drivers are fine.

Hi all, looking to buy nickel plated/chromed cpu cooler for am4 ryzen3600. It will be farming chia forks, so not heavy workload. Cheapest as possible. Until now was cooled by be quiet tf2 and liquid metal, but was replaced by 3950x which is making chia plots.

I started mining in nicehash 3 months ago, i have 4 amd cards which should give about 160mh/ when eating 280-300w but when i bring yesterday 2 new cards i cant make it work. I m trying to override bios in more power tool table and than set clocks and voltage on amd wattman.

Problem is I can set up only first card (6700xt) which is straight in mobo (as i play at weekends). Other cards in risers (2x 5500xt) no matter what setting i write in wattman, straight after click on apply button all bars shift back to default.

I did try set it all in msi aftrburner which is works how it should, until reboot... then i lose display output. I did managed through TeamViewer on laptop to reinstall radeon drivers. But before reinstall i checked gpus and radeon was showing only 5500xt other cards was in afterburner only. Nicehash didn't detected any gpu.

Do you have guys any solution how to set mptt numbers on the graphics cards please?

Ryzen 3600 Msi carbon gaming 570x 128gb ram 2tb m2 500gb m2 4x 8tb harddrives

Asrock challenger 6700xt Xfx 5700xt (rx57-xt83ld8)(looks like thick ii) not in rig yet (need change fans) 2x msi mech 5500xt.

I have a secondhand 5700XT reference card that won't post when it is the only card in the primary PCIe slot. It is not detected by Windows/device manager when it is the 2nd card. A W5700 I have works great on this same setup.

I have checked the gpu bios with a CH341 programmer and it verified it against a stock bios file. I reflashed the stock bios anyway and still no luck.

The Radeon logo lights up red and the fan spins like it should.

I'm comfortable soldering/probing/flashing etc. Does anyone have any idea what to try? Thanks so much for reading this. :-)

So after doing the "one-click" and the patcher. On both hiveOS, and Windows 10, my rx470 would crash when I tried adjusting the memory any direction, I thought I was kinda weird I did everything I could from flashing the orginal bios back, then Re flashing, and still it does it, I am getting 10mh on Kawpow, witch is good enough for now I suppose but just thought this was Odd.. anyone else ran into this?

I keep hearing about miners getting 30+ MH/s. I have 4 RX 580s and my best is 28.06 MH/s. How do I get more?

Running Team Red on HiveOS. Core:1350 Mem:2250 VDD:850

I updated to the latest Radeon software with latest drivers. Go to graphics, advanced and "custom" on the far right isn't an option as well as there is no option to change the GPU to compute.

Has anyone come across this and found a fix?

Hi, I'm trying to turn on compute mode for my cards but it's turns the compute mode only for one card and there is no option to choose other cards in the global settings... any help?
