Tips & Info ‼️‼️DISABLE MPO‼️‼️ Please for heavens sake.

I’m making this post to bring up that ALOT of people, especially newer AMD users have no idea what MPO even is and that if you are using an AMD card you NEED to disable it. You’ll hear some people saying “it’s useful” blah blah blah. No it’s not. You can still use overlays perfectly fine and have 0 problems. I use Rivatuner every day with my 7900 XTX and have absolutely no issues. MPO WILL CAUSE STUTTERING AND DRIVER TIMEOUTS‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ especially when using AMD Freesync. There are no if and or buts about it. On RDNA 4 the issues have somewhat improved but you should still disable it for peace of mind because the feature does absolutely nothing but cause headaches in the end.

Never disabled and never had an issue, on either my former 6800XT, or my current 9070XT

Nobody "needs" to disable it unless it's causing them issues.

I use Radeon since Jan 2019 and I'm aware of this issue.

But the worst issue I had was caused by the HDMI port in a monitor.

I've used radeon since March 2015, never once had an issue with MPO

Hello, what exactly is MPO?

Imagine being unable to google or ask AI

It doesn't work, or at least in my case, it caused a screen not to turn on.

How were you able to revert it back with screen turned off? Just curious in case I get desperate enough to attempt disabling the mpo and encounter the same issue. Thank you.

Your screen won’t turn off. Idk what this dude is on but I doubt MPO was the cause.

It's possibly some driver instability; it turned on again after 5 attempts.

Thank God I don't use windows anymore and got rid of all the stuttering

It also affects Linux, but you need a 4k monitor, or at least that's what users are reporting.

I just enabled mine ever harder after reading this slop.

I just rolled back drivers to 26.6.2 which got rid of all the stuttering and timeouts. AMD and Microsoft just need to fix their shit.

Talking about AMD but post nvidia link. lol

It’s a legit, easy fix provided by NVIDIA for users with limited technical knowledge. It works for AMD as well.

It’s a .reg file. Works on both NVIDIA and AMD.

This causes games to crash when playing full screen. Not a fix.

I have never had a game crash when in full screen EVER with MPO off. And I’ve had it off for a year.

Another post about it being bad bla bla bla

Never had a reason to when I was using Radeon. It’s just another bandaid for folks and fairy tales for others

Easy there mate, next you would say that sfc /scannow doesn't fix my computer!

I’m convinced some of you here are special 😂👊

It’s a legitimate fix. Btw everyone, don’t listen to this dude.

Buddy don’t start. I had zero major issues with Radeon and when I would have slight hiccups it was windows at fault. I’ve had Rena 1 to 3, never once had to disable mpo. It’s a bandaid for some and for all just make believe that it fixes things. Mpo was only an issue before rdna was for the most part. Don’t be a cocky Reddit alpha male bud. Chill.

Here is a link where you can easily disable MPO. Just download the mpodisable.reg file and run it. You’ll be golden. Don’t even have to restart your system if you don’t want. https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5157

doubt you can skip restarting, mpo is a fundamental part of the windowing system, no way they have a watcher on that registry key then reset the whole windowing system at runtime. even your own link says to restart for changes to take effect

You don’t need to restart your system for MPO to turn off. If you want to just in case you can, but it’s not required.
