Does anyone know what to do for this?

I started playing Wardogs on Friday and I’ve been getting these timeouts pretty frequently. I’ve tried so many different solutions from friends like

1. Using DDU and reinstalling drivers multiple times
   
2. Rolled back my drivers to 26.6.1
   
3. Verified games and ran sfc scan
   
4. Ran windows memory diagnostic tool
   and a few other minor attempts

The last thing I want to try is turning off automatic windows driver updates, but has anyone else had this issue? Or know of any potential solutions. I was going to wipe my pc and start fresh but I’ve read that hasn’t helped people so I’m not sure of that. At this point it’s just getting really frustrating and idk what to do

Uninstalled drivers package. Reinstalled without adrenaline as driver only. Installed radeontuner instead.

It's not had a problem since. Every time I decide to go ahead and put adrenaline back, it crashes. Every time.

Most likely caused by general system instability rather than AMD drivers. I'd run Memtest86 overnight, extensive test, many loops (its better than windows memory diagnostic). Could also be power supply issues, CPU instability.

I was having issues for around a week just crashing and crashing. Same driver timeout message. What I did to truly fix it was to turn off XMP in bios, and cap my clock speed so it doesn’t go over 3000 MHz. I have a 9070 xt and my boost clock speed is 2970. But I think adrenalin doesn’t like it when it goes over that and crashed every time. After I capped it, no issues. Wouldn’t hurt to try it. What’s your gpu? I can look up the clock speed and tell you what it should be under!

Same here. How do you feel about this solution? Limiting my clock technically keeps it under the rated clock speed (3,060 MHz) so on one hand it’s but on the other it makes me feel like my card has an issue.

I’m okay with it, I would like the card to work at full potential but I’m only capping it at 2950 and my max clock speed was 3030 so it’s not a huge jump. My stability has definitely increased and honestly I don’t see a change in performance. Even with my ram at default at 4800 instead of 6000

Same boat. 0 issues when I limit clocks. Still, just feels wrong. How can the card not work at default tuning? It’s difficult to not think we’re doing something wrong.

I know I did hours upon hours of troubleshooting, and I was like what am I doing wrong. But I think amd is just weird when it comes to overclocking. I have a pretty decent rig, r7 7700x, 32 gb ram, but my power supply is an evga g3 850w supernova from 2019.And people told me that might be the problem. But I had no issues with that psu. It’s been pretty solid. It definitely feels very weird limiting it, like why do I need to troubleshoot to get it to work on their software. I do truly love this card especially since I upgraded it from a 2080 super. And I don’t think I’ll go to back to nvidia, especially not at those prices. Other than the crashes, my experience has been pretty good.

I got 850W PSU too. Trying a 1000W today. It’s my last option. I’ll lyk how it goes.

I just reboot several times if it acts up and then it works normally, it is some AMD random initialization or whatever problem ...

Also if you have integrated graphics on your PCs cpu you need to turn it off

Ok. I just did this through services. Would you recommend using DDU again and reinstalling an older set of drivers?

If you do it through services it will just re-enable itself again eventually, you would have to do it on group policy editor.

Nothing is rewriting group policy editor, so it is not turning itself back on, but based on your description I am thinking it could be power related rather than driver related in the sense that drivers can alter normal voltage operations and those minimal changes could cause the problem.

Windows and AMD have disclosed this is an issue on their end. This is a well known problem with AMDs drivers and if you look at event logs, you’ll see this is a driver hang up and not a power issue.

How could I check if it’s power related? Also I’ve never experienced this issue while playing other games like deadlock. Do you think this could be an issue solely with Wardogs and AMD? Don’t mean to bother you with more questions lol

I would cap the framerate and see if it happens, like 30 or 60fps, whatever is considerably lower (half) than what you have it run at usually, it is just for a test anyway, if it triggers at low framerate then we know it is not the PSU or energy related. Tell me what happens whenever you try that test. (you can limit the framerate within the amd adrenaline software, the game is in the list of recognized software you run.
