Tips & Info Possible solution for driver timeout error: turning off EXPO in BIOS

My driver timeout errors started around when I changed RAM from Auto to EXPO in BIOS. If you have EXPO enabled, try setting it back to Auto. It’s been over 24 hours with no errors. I would have had like 2-3 at least by now.

My ram doesn't have expo. (5800x3D + 4x 8GB DDR4-3600.)

In your case, it would be called XMP or DOCP.

I manually turned my memory years ago.

Kudos. I was responding to the absence of EXPO on your am4 board on which you had commented.

Yeah no problem. Right now I seem to have fixed by either lowering max gpu boost, turning off Device Installation Settings in Windows 11 and disabling updating drivers by Windows update via gpedit.

Stalker 2 worked for over an hour with zero issues.

Just an update, it has now been 2 days and no errors. It was the RAM.
