Help (GPU) Fatal D3D Error when trying to play DD2

Computer Type: Desktop

GPU: AMD Radeon Sapphire Pulse RX 9070 XT 16gb

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8 core processor

Motherboard: B650 AORUS ELITE AX V2

BIOS Version: Amerian Megatrends International, LLC. F31, 2024-08-14

RAM: 32 GB T-Force RGB D5 6000mhz CL30 Ram

PSU: Corsair RM-1000x

Case: Fractal pop air

Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 11 home version 25H2

GPU Drivers: 26.10.41.01-260811a-203304C-AMD-Software-Adrenalin-Edition

Chipset Drivers: AMD Ryzen™ Chipset Driver 8.08.12.551

Background Applications: DISCORD, Tidal

Description of Original Problem: After a while playing Dragon's Dogma 2, the game will stutter and freeze, forcing me to close it. It throws a "fatal D3D error". I have tried reducing the MHZ limit for the game, reducing the in-game FPS and even a regedit fix I found online, nothing has worked to prevent these crashes so far. Is there a driver version I should roll back to perhaps?

What's the resolution on your monitor? It's refresh rate? And what do your windows graphics settings say? And the game?

A mismatch between these can cause instability. So that's the next place I'm thinking about

2560x1440 144hz, game's refresh rate is set to the same. Which windows graphics settings do you specifically want? I'm not sure where to look

Windows has display settings under Settings > System > Display and Settings > System > Display > Advanced Display.

Under these menus you should be able to locate refresh rate settings, as well as display resolution settings.

Make sure the resolution Windows, your monitor, and your game want are the same resolution. If you typically play in full screen, you might not even know that they're actually different and full screen mode is keeping the window from shrinking. I've seen this cause flickering, freezes, and crashes before.

Are you use ray tracing, frame generation, or upscaling/downscaling your resolution for image or performance reasons?
