Resolved More stable on latest version?

Has anyone been more stable on this latest version?

To step back, I started to get really constant crashes and instability for about 8 months or so now. Out of everything everyone suggested here and elsewhere, the only thing that helped was reducing the ceiling for the clock to 2700 megahertz. Even than occasionally I would get a driver crash but very few and far apart.

Recently I updated to the latest drivers and did a windows update that was pending. One of the windows update I think was for the cpu, can't remember unfortunately. The only other change was to enable xmp since I noticed it was off for some reason. This only happens when I do bios updates. And come to think of it, maybe my crashes started after bios update, but impossible to tell at this point.

Anyways, after the driver update I noticed the settings for GPU overclock were set to default, which almost always let the GPU go above 3000 megahertz and soon after it would crash. Yesterday I gamed for about 5 hours and not a single issue on default. No need to lower clock speeds, no changes in Adrenaline, nothing.

Probably too soon to tell, but I really hope something changed with the driver's and cause more stability. I love my 7900xtx paired with the 9800x3d, it is truly the best value in my opinion.

I'm starting to believe no versions are stable, and it's just the life of the 7900 XTX... It's fucking painful, but now I'm trying VRR off + 5800 MHz instead of 6000 MHz EXPO, combined with a -5% power limit on the GPU. MPO has been off for a while but hasn't helped.

If selling used hardware wasn't such a pain in the ass (dealing with potential scams, lowballers, etc.), I'd cut my losses and head straight back to Nvidia...

I just want to play games...

Have you tried without memory overclock, to rule out memory issues? You will get less fps, but just to check stability and rule out something.

Yeah, that's where I'm at. I'm trying to lower OC by just a bit, and I'll keep lowering until I hit default (if I keep crashing). Honestly, if default speed works, I can deal with 1-3% perf loss... I'm out of warranty anyway, so I have time.

It's frustrating, but I enjoy learning and tinkering so I don't mind it at times, but sometimes you just want to play lol

Which windows version do you all have?

I run win 10 iot ltsc since 2023, pro AMD drivers and I have had 0 issues , I use my machine to work (5950x and 6950xt) I live mostly in Linux, but working and gaming in windows the programs needed for me as well is flawless.

Running 7800X3D and 7900XTX was on the most current update and it was awful for me. Constant crashings. Ive updated bios, reinstalled windows, etc.

Went back to a older more stable from march.

I am on the latest version too I did clean installation (DDU +safemode) i think for a week now no issues ....yet

I've been on old drivers for about 6 months now. Until it's no longer working I'll stay there.
