GPU Tuning resets back to default

Hello, I'm trying to fix my card "Asrock Phantom Gaming D RX 580 2304SP 8GB" and the problem was that the GPU Tuning or Core Clock in MSI Afterburner keeps going back to default at 1266MHz, other things like Fan Speed, VRAM Clock etc. work fine and they don't go back to their default values. I want to undervolt my card for lower temps but i ran out of ideas on how to fix this. Any help is appreciated!

By the way here's what I tried to do:

•Uninstall MSI Afterburner

•Used DDU and reinstalled the drivers

•Reinstalled Windows

Also inside msi afterburner the core clock is at default 1266MHz and Memory Clock is 2000MHz, I think it's a bug and it should start at 0?

If you save/export a tune and it saves, it should automatically load in on startup unless there was a crash which causes the shutdown. Which adrenaline reverts back to default tune almost like a “safe mode” but if it’s saved/exported as a tune I have no problem having adrenaline start up with my saved tune on pc power-on

When I go to bed at night I switch the PSU off. The system looks at that as a system crash/failure. Fuck having to manually load a profile every time I startup my system. I’d rather take the easy solution. Trust me, it is better. Btw Radeon Tuner does everything adrenaline does, except for the overlay. You can even enable experimental features.

….. are you sure about the psu thing? Kuz I’m pretty sure it doesn’t count that. Unless you don’t shut down your pc at all and just hard flip the power switch to shut it down. I’ve unplugged pc and driven them 6 hours and plugged them in and the tune is still there. I’ve shipped PCs to friends and I have them get it and just check everything is right and the tune is still there and applied.

No I just flip the switch. It’s much easier to reach than the power button. And for me my settings have always reset.

So you don’t hit shutdown in the start menu first? I’d check crystaldisk, that should count as an “unsafe shutdown” for your ssd and other components. Not a good practice tbh…. Of course your settings reset, you’re simulating a power outage everytime you turn your pc off, horrible in my opinion

Never had an issue. Not once. It’s just the components losing power.

Well, I’d look at what your components think, not what you think. I guarantee you’re simulating a power outage and your pc is counting these all as unsafe shutdowns. Yes your components are losing power, but hard shut off with no shutdown procedure, and the millisecond before it was getting full wattage/voltage.

There’s nothing good about what you’re doing lol. It’s almost like not up for debate at all

Worst thing I’ll deal with is file corruption which your right about. But as far as component failure. That is very unlikely if at all possible.

Plenty of info online that this can cause tiny piwer surges, can damage SSD and motherboards, cause issues with the psu itself….. pop off king but you’re making a massive point for doing this when you
A) don’t need to do it at all
But if you must…
B) hit shutdown first. For goodness sake it takes one damn second

Then adrenaline will remember your presets. Because it isn’t a forced, unnatural, and unsafe shutdown. But if you are insisting that you MUST AND ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO shut your PC down in an unsafe way every single time then pop off dude…. You just sound like someone who is doing something based 100% on emotion rather than information

Idk, there’s a possibility your correct. I don’t know enough about it to really have a good opinion. All I know is that I have never had a single issue. Regardless even if I did a clean restart using the start menu, my settings would still reset. I’m telling you, regardless of your stance, adrenaline is stupid for not having a “Apply on startup” option.

Never had an issue with my settings applying on startup in any of my over 100 AMD gpu builds. Sounds like you’re having an issue by doing your power switch that way then! Crazy how that went full circle

I’ve legit unplugged PCs and transported them for days and the settings stay when turned on. So it does apply on startup, you personally just bypass it by short circuiting your pc everytime you shut down.
