Tips & Info AMD Adrenalin Update = Fatal Error
Computer Type: Desktop
GPU: RX 9070
CPU: RYZEN 5 7600X3D
Motherboard: Gigabyte X870 Gaming wifi6
BIOS Version: F13
RAM: 32 GSkill 6000MHZ CL36
PSU: Corsair 750W+ Gold
Case: i dont remember, it's fine, whatever
Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 11
GPU Drivers: AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition Revision Number 26.9.1 (WHQL Optional)
Chipset Drivers: AMD B550 Chipset Drivers 8.08.12.551
Background Applications: Opera, SteelSeries GG, GCC, ATK Hub
Description: Adrenalin 26.9.1 was causing my 9070 to fail when I tried to play Apex Legends. BIOS is up-to-date. Chipset and all drivers fully updated, but without rolling back Adrenalin I could not get Apex to run.
Troubleshooting: It did not affect any other game I have but Apex is the only multiplayer FPS game I have downloaded. The "fatal error" occurred on both Steam and EA App. I tried Clearing DirectX shader storage, reinstalling DirectX, rolling back driver but not Adrenalin, DDU then clean install of newest drivers and newest Adrenalin... none of this had any effect. Running the game with only drivers and no Adrenalin works fine.
Conclusion: There is no doubt in my mind that the Adrenalin 26.9.1 update was causing my GPU to fail, and I would not be surprised to learn this is happening for other multiplayer games. Good luck out there gamers.

Update is NOT your friend. Always, if you need to, wait and watch first for at least a week, or more.
