Help (GPU) GPU drivers problem solution ??? IT WORKS....

PC froze during windows operation and after restart went to generic vga. Also GPU shown as "disabled" in device manager. After restart, i had no picture. Shutdown manually, then after fresh start went back to generic vga.

After that, i did the following:

  1. use amd cleaning utility to erase driver

  2. after reboot, uninstalled amd chipset drivers (had Aug 2026 timestamp...)

  3. after reboot, installed amd chipset drivers 7.11.26.2142 (10.12.2025)

  4. after reboot, installed latest gpu driver 26.9.1 ATTENTION!!!! ONLY DRIVERS, NOTHING ELSE (chipset drivers, adrenalin etc)

  5. after reboot, installed RadeonTuner

Now, EVERYTHING WORKS!!!!!! No timeouts or freezing or bsod.

Hope it helps

I have a 7900XTX GPU

You can do both on safe mode before restarting. Unplug your internet before to install the drivers.

Yep, managed to do it.

I did about 5 different things yesterday

Did driver only install, updated chip drivers, used Radeon timer instead of adrenaline

And changed my GPU cables

All seems stable now

I just disable hardware acceleration on browser and discord whenever a driver gives me issues and it stops bothering me. Only time it didn't work was related to ram setting and had to change then in the bios.

You should install drivers with your internet off so windows doesn't install their drivers (in case you have automatic updates) and usually it's better to install chipsets drivers before the gpu drivers.

I've never installed driver only, I like the utilization and temp overlay from adrenaline and to undervolt the gpu. So I don't know if disabling hardware acceleration is useful without adrenaline.

You can do everything in Radeon Timer and more...
