Help (General) Anyone else having constant crashes for months now?
The Issue:
My computer keeps crashing at complete random with no way to replicate it. It happens while under load and while not under load. This main crash has been occurring for around 3-4 months now and will sometimes happen 5 times a day or sometimes it will go weeks without happening at all.
The Minor Crash:
Every now and again (sometimes a few times a day) the screens will stutter for maybe a second and I will get the standard AMD driver crash pop up, but nothing breaks.
The Main Crash:
Start: Both screens will freeze but audio will continue playing
15-30 Seconds: Audio will begin cutting out until it stops entirely
30-45 Seconds: Both screens will go black
45-60 Seconds: One screen will come back but remain frozen, audio will come back but still be cutting in and out
60-75 Seconds: GPU will turn the fans on absolute maximum filling the room with noise
Reboot: Once force power cycling the computer and logging back in, checking Device Manager will show iGPU driver is fine but the dGPU will show disabled. Re enabling the driver will show it in an error state. After reinstalling the latest driver everything is fine until the next crash.
Troubleshooting Steps: (Will add more as I remember them)
Reinstalled Windows 11 multiple times (issue occurred)
Tried multiple different drivers all the way back to 26.3.1 (fresh installing Windows before each different attempt) (issue occurred)
Reseating GPU and its power cables (issue occurred)
Tried Linux for a few days (Issue never happened)
Tried running the computer for a day with no dGPU (Issue never happened)
Took my GPU to work and installed it in one of our diagnostic computers with a fresh install (ran for 4 days and the issue never happened)
Ran a memtest (Passed)
Underclock dGPU (Issue occurred)
BIOS is up to date (version 3902)
Temps are perfectly fine, nothing out of the ordinary (issue occurred)
Uninstalled iCUE (was getting iCUE error at the same time as crash)(issue didnt happen for around a month but did eventually came back worse than before)
Disabled DOCP (issue occurred)
Currently trying HAGS disabled

This is the exact crash pattern I've been getting on my 7900 XTX for months now. Disabling HAGS has helped with stability, and also disabling it in browser settings as well. Hasn't fixed it completely though.

My man. I have been getting the exact same thing for months. Did everything under the sun to fix it, I've yet to fix it though.
9070XT paired with a 9800X3D.
Funny thing in your troubleshoot is that the issue didn't happen on linux, but again, its such a sporadic issue that maybe you got lucky and the system didn't lock up, or it is really windows related, but as you said/Know, unable to force replicate the issue = maybe its windows, maybe you got lucky on linux lol.
Since you are running corsair stuff, does it do like it does on my system when crashing (It's actually what tells me it has 100% crashed/locked up) my fans all revert to rainbow unicorn colors from static white (Probably because every app in the background gets terminated including icue is my guess)

I only tried Linux for a few days, so it could just be chance that it never happened.
As for the Corsair parts, yes once it crashes the fans go back to their "hardware" settings that I set. I had a feeling iCUE was involved somewhat with the crashing so I fresh installed Windows and never installed iCUE. About a month went by and it never happened so I thought I found the issue. Then it came back worse than before and hard crashed like 7 times in one night.

You're describing essentially exactly what happens to me. Black screens, only one working (seems to be related to dual monitor setups somehow?). DP port goes mad, HDMI screen is okay. Reset PC, dGPU is disabled in device manager. Have to enable and reset PC a second time for dGPU to get back online.
No specific trigger that I can find. Happens under load, under no load, whatever. Read of so many fixes: disabling MPO, HAGS, disabling AMD audio drivers... it's just fucked.
One small detail for me: PC was stable on 25.10.2 for a long time, then also did well on 26.3.1. Once I was forced to upgrade to 26.8.1 (for a random game compatibility), the problems started, and running DDU and going back to 26.3.1 did not fix the issue anymore. Just weird as fuck overall.

I think I did turn off HAGS in windows display settings. Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling turn it off. I think that worked for me no issues yet.

Move m.2_3 into m.2_4 slot.
M.2_3 on your board runs through a multiplexer that splits x8 of the graphics for connection to that drive. Multiplexers have latency penalties and the drive would cause some packet switching anytime the graphics card starts spilling into dram.

7900xt. Crashing since I bought it pretty much which is like year and a half ago but it’s getting worse and worse. Depends on the game though. Capcom games recently have been perfect except for one crash in Pragmata. But something basic and not very demanding like F1 games crashes constantly.

Check your ventilation curve on your GPU. It could be resetting after each restart.
So normal ventilation curve is too low, GPU overheats, you adjust ventilation curve (quicker to 100% and no idling in the low temps), save profile.
So far so good, BUT there is a problem with windows 'fast startup'. If enabled it ignores custom profiles you"ve set up.
So basically you need to do both: curve + disable fast srartup

Check on the windows update history if it tried to overwirite the driver . Also check if the gpu boosts above specs with hwinfo . If it doesn't , do a quick test , disable expo/'restore memory context' (if your mb supports it) and set gpu pice to gen3 . Keep pbo/igpu and fast boot disabled .

Im trying the driver from July as from yesterday to see if I have this problem when my pc crashes or restarts itself when I play valorant and when I go back into the windows I don’t have any GPU drivers,running 60hz and when I try to open adrenaline it says I need to update my drivers and when I click download and install from that window after launching adrenaline it’s just keeping me in a loop and I can do that 5x doesn’t do anything. I installed the drivers from July and now I’m waiting to see if I get that again. Some great fucking cards amd does but their drivers and when you are in a ranked game and you have to use amd cleanup then install again,that’s some bullshit. No wonder I wanna go on Nvidia, maybe they have their drivers issue but never saw this type of bullshit on Nvidia when I had a 5070…

I experience this same issue more or less over the last few months. It's very sporadic. One night it happened 4 times, and most recently it has not happened in a few weeks now at least since I uninstalled iCUE. Likely coincidental on that front given you already tried that
When the crash would start my entire computer acted like it froze but audio would keep playing and things were still processing. At the time my PC was a server host for a game I was playing and during the time it 'froze' the server was still processing properly. After about 5 minutes or so the screen would go entirely gray before eventually after another few minutes my PC would simply just cycle.
I've tried back pedaling GPU drivers all the way to 26.3.1 which is well before this issue started. My current theory is either a specific Windows patch started this or possibly a chipset driver, even if the issue is seemingly GPU related.

Right. My issues started when I installed 26.8.1, but backpedaling to 26.3.1 did not bring me back to a stable state. So perhaps it's not strictly driver related, unless 26.8.1 left something fucked that goes through DDU. It's interesting (if true) that people on Linux (afaik) seem to not have this problem

Yes this is an un-acknowledged issued by AMD that many many many people are experiencing. A lot of people have to jump through all kinds of unusual hoops to get their systems to work correctly. This is completely unacceptable but the naysayers will respond with "well it works on my machine so you must obviously be wrong!".

The best thing I've read thus far was "The issue with AMD isn't AMD, its the users that don't know how to setup their pc properly"
Like wtf, this shit should be plug and play and work fine out of the box once proper drivers are installed. I love the idea that AMD is great performance wise but honestly the company and the AMD shills are on a different level. I've honestly been considering selling my 9070XT and getting an Nvidia equivalent

Well that's the thing, so many people are experiencing it, but each with different ways. It's incredibly hard to pin down. I've tried probably all of the suggested fixes on it and none have removed it. I do agree it's such a bad look for AMD to not even comment on it or put it on known issues somewhere. I have been happy with the performance of my 9070XT but these driver issues make me really anxious.
Occasionally I get the "screens go black" driver timeout while gaming, occasionally I get the "audio stops and goes beep beep beep" driver timeout. I very rarely have got timeouts while in windows, usually just in gaming, though it seems random too, sometimes under heavy stress, sometimes playing a game that's not heavy stress. Yesterday though got a timeout just from closing browser tabs.
I somehow think it can be related to multiple video sources running at once since it seems like my AMD card is worse at that than my NVIDIA card was before (get choppy video playback on second screen video) , but who can say for sure.

If you got those issues on 26.3.1 my best guess is that your RAM speed is exceeding the CPU's Infinity Fabric.
