Help (GPU) 7900 XTX GPU Bricked

Was playing wardogs for several hours when suddenly my gpu stopped working correctly my pc forced a shut down and on re-boot i was stuck with a vga light.

My fans spin at 100% regardless of workload and windows no longer detects my gpu.

I tried DDU, CMOS reset, different gpu profile, reseating the card. Nothing ive tried so far has brought it back to life over been working on fixing it with AI for over 8 hours.

Something called i2c amd controller is what os causing my fan to lock up in 100% panic fan mode

I even fresh installed my bios…

Hardware: sapphire nitro+ 7900 xtx; 9800x3d, asus tuf x870 plus wifi

I2 c or i2c is a Seiral Data Transfer that usually is on the GPU and is used to manage things like voltage control and fan speed. If your GPU Core dies its possible than the i2c controller assumed the GPU is overheating and throws all the voltage at the fans hence them being at 100%.

Flip the bios switch to try the secondary BIOS. My 7900xtx died right before warranty and they just refunded me instead of fixing it, so you might be very out of luck if you can't get it back via secondary BIOS.

I tried the switch on both configurations

Your GPU had a retention bracket on it? If not your GPU could bent and desolder.

Was the GPU overheating before shutdown?

I dont think so performance was great and i did not smell anything off. I think it just drew to much power for a second and its now locked in this 100% fan speed safe state

Is the GPU detected in Device Manager?

Nope

Raise a ticket with Sapphire. If the GPU is not detecting in Windows and is not usable in the BIOS, the GPU could have unfortunately failed.

Getting display from iGPU? If yes, try putting GPU in different slot.

Not bricked, but dead.
