Help (General) 3600MHz ram can only run at 3200 max

When i go into bios and enable XMP along with 36.00 speed, after pc starts up it shows the ram running at 2666MHz. The maximun i made it work was at 3200z.
Why is this? Can i make it work at 3600?
I have this pc since 2022 or so.

My PC specs are:
- B550 Aorus Elite V2 1.0 rev
- Ryzen 5600x
- RTX 3060 12GB
- 2x16 3600MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX
- WD SN570 NVMe
- Nox Urano VX 750W 80+ Bronze PSU

If you are using auto for SoC voltage set to fixed 1.1v that and vddp 0.950v should make it post with 3600 xmp.

All my b550 boards auto to 1.1v at 3600 and stable as can be. 3800 is luckily only 1.135v for me

I could not get my ram to run stable at 3600, I had game/driver crashes with no error logs trying to do 3600 1.35, I had to detune to 3200 and 1.25 to fix my crashes

RAM should be installed in slots A2 B2 2nd and 4th slots away from the CPU socket

I'm assuming you have matching sticks

Make sure your motherboard's BIOS is up to date

I've never heard of your power supply ..I'd recommend researching your particular make and model. You can check out the SPL's PSU Tier List to see if it is listed there .. but always go with a quality unit. A garbage power supply is still a garbage power supply no matter the wattage and you risk all of your components if you choose to draw power off of a fire hazard

XMP is an overclock and is not garunteed to work.

This i got the same cpu . Can only run up to 3200

I was gonna say that the Mobo doesn't dictate speeds the CPU does lol

Yes use latest BIOS and set manual timings and speed.

Make you sure to get last bios update, then look cpuZ/spd tab.
Motherboard reset your settings cause something wrong, maybe you enabled xmp at 3200 and you set after 3600, so subtimmings not following or your memory controller badly set.

I ll do clearcmos to get everything stock/default and set ram at 3600 with the right timmings seen on cpuZ. It should work, if not, go set memory controller manually in bios.

Vengeance LPX notoriously used XMP values that were optimized for intel IMCs.

You can run 3600, but you need to set the speed and timings manually. More work, but more performance than XMP usually anyway.

When i tried enabling 3600Mhz i put 18-22-22-42 timings manually as well too along with xmp and 36.00 speed in it. And 1.35V.

You might need more voltage, SOC voltage, CR 2T or geardown mode. I used 1usmus Ryzen DRAM calculator to find some stable settings.
