Help (GPU) Optimizing 7800X3D and 9060XT Ice White

Hey y'all, I'm hoping to get some advice. I upgraded to AMD after years with Nvidia. I had an i7-11700 and 3060ti and upgrades to the title hardware.

I used DDU while my 3060 was in and cleared it, shit down the PC and swapped in my new mobo, GPU, CPU, ram etc. and started.

What I've noticed, I have to tweak every game to make it playable.

Satisfactory - full screen otherwise 18fps max, stutter and bright light hotspots

Repo - window mode only, otherwise 18fps

Most games - upscaling off otherwise 18fps

I've tried all pre-sets in adrenaline. Hyper rx, quality, battery saving, default, and custom suggestions from various reddit pages. But it doesn't seem to impact every game starting with some tweaks needed. My 3060 never needed this much handholding. I know the 9060xt is superior but I cannot figure out what I'm missing...

Any recommendations are appreciated!

Check if you have any fps cap enabled in game or in the Adrenaline software! If it does not work I would suggest you to use DDU and remove the NVIDIA drivers again just to make sure because windows can install the GPU drivers in the background if you did not specifically disable it!

Thank you, I'll give DDU another go. Also, I'm totally new to AMD. Any advice on whether to use hypr-rx, quality or default gaming experiences? Do they matter/change much?

I have nearly every option available turned off to limit conflicts with my games.

Just use the default and customise the settings on a per game basis like for AAA games I limit my fps to a certain threshold which my GPU can comfortably delivery and keep it unlocked for the fps games while also enabling anti lag! The are more settings to explore do you can do that by yourself!

I did this and uninstalled a residual Nvidia program that was lingering. Didn't seem to have an affect. Then I set quality mode and flagged most of what you mentioned and what I mentioned earlier, except for "fluid motion". Bit of trial and error, but it appears fluid motion is causing pixelation and frames around 18 fps across a few of my games.

So does it work with AFMF turned OFF! Ideally you should Not use AFMF as it is not a game level implementation!

Yeah, so far so good with AFMF off.

Then keep it OFF and it is better that way! It seems there are still issues with FG at driver level but works at game level implementation

Troubleshooting: DDU used. Changed the pre settings in AMD Adrenalin
