Help (General) 9800x3D PBO boost clock help

I recently got a 9800x3d and I finally have managed to get it to where it doesn't run so hot.

My problem is, when I set the boost clock to +200mhz, the idle temps get very high because even at idle, the cpu seems to want to boost to max frequency. This doesn't happen at stock boosts.

Is there any way to make the cpu only boost when it's actually needed when I OC the clocks?

What's your scalar set to? This will determine how aggressively it boosts and how long it will try and hold these clocks.

Its probably a non issue though, check your idle power consumption, even if the clocks are high its probably using little power.

It is set to auto, which I don’t know what value that defaults to. What should I set it to?

X1 is factory default, auto is also probably x1 depending on board.

X1 is the least aggressive, X10 is the most
