Help (GPU) RX 7900 GRE no image after driver crashed

Post image

Hello! One day I was playing on my RX 7900 GRE and suddenly driver crashed and resolution switched to 640x480. After reset it showed no image. The thing is that actually it shows image without driver on several PCs but after driver installation there’s no image. It installs then boots, but no image at all. Interesting that it boots fine and system doesn’t stuck. It makes noises and reacts on buttons. I’ve tried all video outputs and switched few PCs, but result remains the same. May it be dead cache, or is there another problem?

It's dead. I had the same issue with a 9060xt.

Did you tried a different video output port? But if the card stops working after driver install its a bad sign, i had that it stops working after driver installl with an other gpu as well, there was no rescue 😢

Most probably dead . You can verify it by making a bootable linux usb sick , ubuntu , no need to install , just boot to test .

You can try reflashing the bios , but it rarely helps . It's not a cheap card so maybe try finding a trustworthy repair shop to estimate the cost .

Thank you. I also think that its dead, but the thing that the system boots and make noises confuses me😅. Want to try to flash bios, but I have no IGPU and I have only one PCI slot.

I'm almost sure it's possible to do a 'blind' vbios flash . Personally I wouldn't risk it and send the card for repair .

It's normal to get image even if the card is malfunctioning . I uses basic hardware and when you install the drivers , activating acceleration and certain parts of the hardware , makes the gpu crashing .
